I'm grateful you made this pack. Half of what you've animated I didn't realize was possible.
Do you know if it's possible to animate every texture type?
I was impressed particularly by the description text.
In unmodded minecraft you can only animate the things in the "textures" folder. But almost anything else can be animated if you have mcpatcher or optifine. Those animations are in the "anim" folder. For info on the text formatting search for "chat" on the minecraft wiki.
Dinnerbone says that he fixed the texture pack converter bug I reported, but I can't get to my computer until Sunday (possibly sooner, we'll see). If anyone wants to convert it for themselves you can use it: http://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/utilities/TextureEnder.jar but a few textures won't work because I derped on the originals.
Updated to the new resource pack format! 1.6 has a few quirks/almost-bugs that I had to figure out, but everything works now (I hope). No new features though (don't worry though, they are coming). The advanced features only work with mcpatcher for now; the version for 1.6.1 can be downloaded here.
Sadly it seems that mediafire (the website I use to host the downloads) has managed to block direct downloads on non-paid accounts (meaning an extra second of your life is wasted :P).
I have some suggestions, as I am making my own currently, without 128x. For the lit furnace, how about keep that same animation you have now, but every once in a while it sends out a burst of flame? For the raw fish, make it flop; it's belly moving up and down. Not sure if you've done this, but the plain pumpkin, how about make it blink or some random mob show up in it's mouth? :3
By the way, how do you animate animals? It's not the same as with a block/item.
Those are some good ideas. I'm not to sure about the pumpkin but it's an interesting idea. For animating mobs and anything else not in the "textures" folder, you have to put the animation in the "anim" folder and give it a .properties file that has things like where the animation goes and timings. You can look at my anim folder to get an idea of how it works. More info at the MCPatcher and Optifine threads I linked in the main post.
this texture pack is something different,i love it <3
is there a chance you will make a 32x32 version of it?an animated version of the faithful texture pack for example?
Animating faithful isn't going to happen because I don't have time and I wouldn't be allowed to distribute the textures. Faithful is sort of a community thing, so I might be able to animate and send a few textures to Vattic. Idk, faithful seems really obsessive about keeping the default look even though they're textures could be a lot better.
Yep! For me switching to resource packs is hard to get used to. Today I've had some fun making villager sounds (not going to be in this pack). I'm disappointed that Mojang didn't make it so multiple resource packs can be selected like they said they would.
So I made the sun spin, and it looks like this except slightly slower: it looks better in game because there isn't any black and the gif has banding issues. To make it look decent I had to make it 128x and now it's the largest animation so far. So my question is should I make the moon spin? Because of the 8 phases and them not being symmetrical (the sun is so I only have to make it rotate 90°) it would mean the size of this pack would hendecuple (real word) or something crazy. Maybe I'll just have a separate zip with them in it for the power users.
When you say only mcpatcher for the 1.6.1 download, no Optifine? Also any new sounds because of resource packs?
Optifine hasn't been updated for 1.6.1 yet. When they update I'll make sure everything works with it. I don't think I will be changing sounds, at least not in this pack.
You mean the delay between drips? Because it does seem a bit to drippy. That's not to hard to change so I'll play around with that.

Yeah. The delay between drips. It should drip slower than water, as to imply that it's blood dripping from the walls. And blood is thick.

Do you think it's working correctly? It's all good if you don't like it though.
That is sitting on my to do, I just haven't gotten to it yet.

This needs to be more famous.
Nice video. I need to make a spoiler in the main post for videos.
Also, a couple days ago this hit 4000 downloads! It's so cool when people like something that I've done.
You seem to understand the "Less is more" concept that a lot of Minecraft players don't seem to get. I love how subtle many of the animations are.

I'll get to your PM in a bit.

And the rotating sun is awesome!
