The Lightark Resource Pack (Originally texture pack) is a pack I've been working on for quite a while. It fits perfectly with the Better Biomes Mod by SMEZ1234. It is 16x-ish (Some textures are 32x, i.e. the survival GUI, and even 15x, as seen in some flowers) and acts as an alternative default pack. So far, no custom sounds have been added, but keep an eye on the end titles and credits... you may find a pleasant surprise. It has no themes, i.e rpg, medieval, or futuristic. (Keep in mind this is NOT finished) Many bugfixes, updates, and additions to come.
Around 270 textures completed:
Most blocks!
All swords and tools!
Water and Lava!
Potatoes, Carrots, Wheat, Melons, Pumpkins, and Sugar Cane!
Sun and Moon!
Many requested blocks changed.
Three mobs (creeper, skeleton and zombie; more planned)
Techy Font! (not copied, completely my own design)
All GUI! Done in a simplistic style, the focus is on minimalism
Diamond, Gold, and Iron armour!
Coconuts!!
And much, much more!
Please keep in mind I can only work in my spare time (on the weekends, or in the holidays), as I am a normal human like the rest of you. I would appreciate patience. However, please make a comment, as constructive criticism is greatly appreciated, and I will take all ideas mentioned into consideration. Thank you all for the comments, screenshots, and suggestions! My downloads are through dropbox, which does not screen any ads, or flash you any links to phoney websites. Download links are at the bottom.

I've been using this for a bit now and i love it! keep up the great work man. Also not to be rude or anything, but I think the nether is to dark, I like happy nethers!
Ok, I'll try to improve the Netherrack and the nether in general. Other block fixes will be made. Keep in mind I can only work on this on the weekends so please be patient. Thanks for the constructive criticism. And also: Wow!! Responses already! Like 2 hrs after I post this! Amazing.
Nice work Techno. Amazing job, maybe start working on some particle effects and mobs. It would be really nice if you could retexture the water and lava as well. I love the smooth look to everything and the cactus is awsome!

Feel free to download it and post it in your description.
I'm planning to do the textures in three stages: do the blocks, then the items, then the mobs. I think this will be easier than doing what I'm doing now: random dabbles in different areas of the pack. Stay tuned for more!
In the New version (1.4), there are more particles, I've added backgrounds, bugfixes with mossy cobblestone, cake, and command blocks. More to come than just bugfixes in the future, I promise!
New update! Been working on it for a while. It includes HUD, font, and a bit of GUI. I think that doing those things always makes the texturepack have a really polished feel to it. And don't complain that I didn't change the default textures enough, as this is supposed to be a alternative default pack.
I don't know why all of this good feedback is flying around. The pack is about 10% completed, and the blocks you have completed look like they could stand some much needed shading.

Well, if you don't like my style, then that's not my problem. Originally, I wasn't even going to release this on The forums. And I'm sorry, but how are my textures flat? Sure they may need improvement, I'll give you that, but no-one complains about FVdisco's pack being flat. I made this pack for myself, because i have a love of texturing, and sure, it may have been released a bit early, with not too many textures done, but I work on it every week. Notice it says "Nowhere near completion" in description. Problem?
By the way your Xbox name kinda gives a very accurate description of you.
It's kinda weird how people complain about flatness when they're playing a game full of 3-dimensional shapes made of flat figures. Flat doesn't always equal bad. You kind of have to go flat. Making it look 3D looks good in your image editing software but in-game it looks more like a photo wrapped around a cube. Straight-on it can look 3D but when you move away at an angle, the flatness really stands out. The tile is trying to be 3D but it's 3D-ness makes it look flatter. Besides, not everything needs to pop out at you. Detail and color are what's important, not how much it pops out.
I don't know if you've changed your netherrack yet, but I actually like it right now. At least from a distance. Might need a tiny bit of shading to make it look like cracked rock and less like a jagged pattern.
I think your stone, bricks, and ores could use some more work. Right now they look scribbled. With your brick, less cracks/moss might look better.
Thanks for the constructive criticism BlueCoin, greatly appreciated. Will try to change requested blocks (It's fantastic to know what's wrong with my Texturepack, and that someone agrees with my flat texture argument.). Yes, I was planning to work on the cracked stone brick sooner or later, it was a rushed job. Righto, back to the drawing board.
Also-1000 views! Big achievement for me. Shows that even though people may not be posting (although that is very helpful), people are looking at this Topic. Hooray! Minecraft rules!
I'm surprised actually, that you haven't got more replies. Sure it's not finished yet, but most of the textures fit quite well, unlike many packs where you get grass textures that look like a checker board. Haven't seen the new update yet (camping is a joy), but it's good that you're not just working on blocks. I look forward to seeing it when I get home again.
I understand giving me an intelligent response to my criticism, and I appreciate that. But this sentence is really immature and uncalled for.
Yes, sorry about that. I was feeling a bit annoyed that day (By other things in my life) and was pent up. I admit it was uncalled for. End of conversation. Friends now please?
In other news: New version coming out later this month, or perhaps next month. My internet has decided to die on me, and now I'm trying to (metaphorically speaking) revive the dead corpse. I'm lucky that I can even access this forum page. (took 10 mins to load) However, will release massive update somewhere along the line, when my internet allows me to upload my texturepack without it taking 10 hrs on dropbox. Techno out.
I was playing a bit o survival for a while, and I think you have the armor and health icons pretty well done. I had an idea about the hunger bar. Maybe someone else has done this in another texture pack, but is it possible to make each separate hunger bar icon a different food item? Eg porkchoppe, appel, etc. Just a thought.
Also...could you make the sponge a coconut? I mean, its handy for blocking water, but that's about it. No one really uses it. Or at least I don't. Maybeh you could make an exclusive version? Or is that a bit too far?
I hope teh views grow exponentially.
