What a great looking texture pack! I decided to search for a new skin for Minecraft the other day, and I must have tried 20-30 different packs. SixtyGig is by far the most complete and best looking, even though it's not even complete yet. Very good job author. I have one question, how does the whole MCPatcher thing work, I've never used it, and this and other resource packs works just fine for me.

They'll technically work, but you'll be missing out on a ton of features. MCPatcher opens up a whole bunch of advanced features and will make an astounding difference in the quality of the pack.
One of my pack's biggest features is it's extensive use of CTM, and that feature only works with MCPatcher installed. Here's a set of really old screenshot I made to show the difference. Look really close at the textures in the first and second set.

WITHOUT MCPATCHER/NO CTM
WITH MCPATCHER
Okay, well thanks for explaining that. And again, very good job with the texture pack :-D
READ THIS BEFORE VOTING IN THE POLL:
Once SixtyGig is complete, I will be using 1.7's "Modloader" style Resource Pack loader system to make what I am coining as "Patch Packs". These packs will be loaded on top of SixtyGig, adding to or replacing SixtyGig's textures with themed textures for that pack. Players will be able to download SixtyGig as a complete pack, then download these "Patch Packs" separately and load them on top of SixtyGig, giving them a most customized style. Anyone familiar with 1,7's new system (or have used mods in a game like Oblivion or Skyrim) will already know how this should work.
Please note this is extremely far down the road, but I just want to get an idea of whatyou guys would be interested in. If you have your own ideas, or want to expand on any of mine feel free to comment!
Breakdown of the Patch Pack concepts: Candyland - Textures modified to have candy in them, or replaced completely with candy-like textures.
Concept Examples:
- Ladder frames replaced with candycanes
- Snow turned into "Ice cream with sprinkles"
- Mobs turned into candy-things
- Scattered pieces of candy on the terrain textures
- Gumdrops, Cherrydrops, etc, "growing" on the leaf blocks.
- Foods all replaced with candy
- Reeds replaced with Candycanes
- Wood turned into Chocolate blocks
Decay - All original SixtyGig Textures, but additional "Broken/beatup" CTM added. (Think: Abandoned buildings)
- All blocks will have a bunch of random "broken and decayed" states.
- More cracks in stone
- Grass has dead patches
- Wood is rotting
- Wool it torn
- Glass has cracks
- Paintings are faded/ripped
- Leaves are randomly discolored
- Possible biome color changes
Apocalyptic - Like Decay, but where as decay is more "Nature takes back" themed, Apocalyptic is more extreme. (Think of Decay as "Old abandoned village" and Apocalyptic as "Fallout Post-Apocalyptic")
- Most of the same features as decayed
- Damaged blocked are much more frequent, think fallout.
- Water is off-green
- Mobs look sickly.
Spooky - Halloween-like themed, everything distorted, odd shaped (Think Tim Burton)
- Some decay, but not much
- Darker colors
- Grass "dead" looking.
- Mobs all "dead" or "sick" looking, including animals.
- Paintings have "glowing eyes"
- Other Cliche spooky things
The Moon (Mostly terrain changes, to make the world look like it's on the moon)
- Grass completely changed to "moonrock"
- Natural textures like trees changed to something else more moon-like
- Small plantlife, like mushrooms and crops will be in "Biobubbles"
- Mobs look.. moony?
- Almost no decay, Almost everything look prestine, clean and very man made.
- Lots of metals, platics and glass
- Most wood based textures converted to metal or plastic.
Honestly, although some of these sound cool, I have had an idea for a modification that would be more of a common use type thing and not so much specialty. You might remember awhile ago I increased the CTM function of the metal blocks from purely random to classic ctm, this is a change I have loved and kept since. So my suggestion would be a pack with similar modifications. Due to the cartoon style of the pack, a lot of blocks such as glowstone lack borders. I have been thinking for awhile it would be cool to add more of the other varieties of CTM other than random. You may or may not like the idea, but I think it would have a great end result.

That's also a good idea, I was considering making "Micro Patch Packs" as well, that only have a few textures in them. For example, some people love my old cobblestone. I could have a Micro Pack that is nothing more than just the old cobble put back into the pack. That way, people won't have to do any manual file editing, they just load it right on top of the original pack and get the old cobble back.
That idea could easily be expanded into what you're saying about CTM textures, I could have packs like a "CTM Resource Block Pack" packs that converts all the Redstone, Iron, gold, Diamond, Coal (etc) blocks into Classic CTM.
Those packs will probably take considerably less time to do though. TThe CTM Resource Blocks would probably only take a week. They would also require next-to-no updates after they are complete. So they will probably pop up in between larger projects like Candyland for example.
SEAL OF APPROVAL this is an excellent pack and although I support the apocalyptic textures if you make some trees in the moon selection would be like moon "huts" that although pristine are abandoned for better architecture.
The Altpacks are actually the "Patch Packs" now, the original idea was to have complete stand-alone packs that shared some like-textures with Sixtygig, but with 1.7's new system that seems unnecessary so have the same textures reused in multiple packs when I can just layer the "patch packs" and their new textures right overtop SixtyGig.
I'll probably start working on them when SixtyGig is completed though. Possibly releasing some smaller ones before I finish, like Chimeratech's CTM ore blocks.
..all standard Minecraft blocks (up to 1.6) are completed!
*Cue fireworks*
- Netherwarts Crops
- Cocoa Plants
- Item Frame
- Cobwebs!
..Enjoy!
Now there is no time left for SixtyGig to get completed.

I felt they were a little bright as well. I'll see what I can do.

Daylight Detectors added!
Edit: Just Voted on
