well thanks for considering. Although you dont knoew what they can do i would try it. role with it see what it takes you to, see what could happen. but thats just me.
I can understand the need for people to join the TAU,it's essentally a guild for texture pack artists (and that's pretty cool). But I'm really just not sure what they could provide for me (or me for the) that will make joining worth it.
Even if they made me an Admin, I'm not really sure how I could really help their group.

Fair enough its yours to deside. and agian thats just me.
also while i got your atenion i got one crazy idea. eclipse research: ( "which results in a repetition of a solar or lunar eclipse every 6,585.3 days") link to sorse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipses
So if my math isnt rong the time it would take to have one happen is 131706 minutes in real world time, or 91.4625 real world days. If possible to setup thoughs odds, i would love to see that in minecraft. i would have the biggest smile on my face.
(and yes i am a science guy)

Oh no, I have no control over the phases, just the textures of them. The phases that popup are all controlled by the code.

i was thinking something more like random textures. A one in a 1000 chance or in this case 6585 chance
("- Super rare random textures for some blocks, fun silly things like a 1 in 1,000 chance of cave-man scribbles on a stone block, or something etched into a log. Maybe even random objects buried in the sand. I was also thinking of hiding donator's names around in the pack with this method too, like "PlayerName was here!". But these textures would be so rare that you really couldn't look for them, you may run around and play all day and never even see 1. They're meant to be random "whoa cools!" and not dominate the pack.")

oh no, the Random CTM can only be applied to objects placed in the game, like blocks, ladders, vines, cacti, grass (and so on). The Sun/Moon phases are their own thing.

ok sorry didnt know that. Although i think i will play with it my self see if i find a loophole
now would you put the texture in there own file with the properties and name the file moon_phase simler to the blocks. would it have to be placed in the mcpatcher folder if so under what folder.

Due to how random works with the regular blocks in CTM, I don't think it will do anything with the moon phases.
Random just uses some fancy math (I think based on the coordinate of the block) to select what texture, problem is, when you load the game the sun and moon are *always* loaded, they're just out of view. So there's no chance for the texture to reload using that method. :/
But, if it did/does work somehow, you'd have to rename the 2 phases to 0 and 1.png (not moon_phases1 and 2) and stick them somewhere in the /ctm/ folder along with the properties file. MCPatcher only looks for CTM inside mcpatcher/ctm/

I'm about 99% sure it won't work though.
I though it would have to be in mcpatcher never thought about ctm. so would i be able to stick all the block folders into a single folder for themsevles to make it cleaner, or do they have to be in the root of ctm. also i already renamed the image files them it was taken before i started with the properties.

Ok i notest a file named sky in mcpatcher would i be able to place a evironment with the moon_phases.properties and images in there or place them in the root of sky.

All the code is already in the pack, it's in the /mcpatcher/ctm/blockname/ folder. But those properties files wont do you any good. :/
..and you can edit/play with it all you want, you just cant distribute it.
ok got the the stuff a justed
moon_phases.properties
tiles=0-1
weights=6584 1
method=random
