So just curious, will you be adding sounds to the resource pack version of this? Maybe cartoony sounds that stay close to Minecraft sounds, or just staying with textures?
Food/ Green
Blocks/ Grey
Tools/ White
Materials and Ores/ Yellow?
Enchanted tools could stay blue? I'm not sure, how many categories are you going to have of color code?

No plans for sounds right now, I feel replacing the default sounds will be confusing for players and they'll have a hard time figuring out whats going on around them. Maybe in the future I may add some sorts in an alt-pack but probably not in the default pack

When I asked how many categories I meant how many item categories haha. Like, food will be one with a color, tools a second, armors, etc. How many item categories do you plan on having? Then from there it might be easier for people to suggest colors?

oh! sorry. I totally misunderstood.
Really I'm not sure yet; at the least I was going to start off by matching everything to what section they're in in the creative inventory, so;
I don't really have a hard list at all yet. I was just going to start there and then maybe break it down some more. So any ideas you come up with are useful.
Black / Building Blocks
Orange / Decoration Blocks
Dark Red / Redstone
Brown / Transportation
Dark Green / Food
Grey / Tools (Pickaxes/Shovels)
Dark Grey / Combat (Swords/Armor)
Pink / Brewing
White / Materials (Sticks, leather, flint, etc)
Misc / Aqua
It is definitely not the best way this could be done but I think it is an ok proof of concept, It would look a lot better if I had the original document with all the layers and/or any artistic ability whatsoever but it is not so bad. I plan on doing this to all metals for personal use, considering 90% of the work was done by Rayvolution I would not publish the files unless he permits me to do so (assuming people actually like the look).

hah, that's actually pretty cool looking. Sadly though, to do it correctly they would all have to be completely redrawn from scratch. I didn't design the ore blocks with tiling in mind. The only part that would line up is the Iron blocks horizontal bars.
Here's an example of all 9 textures if I totally removed the borders :/

I am not the greatest at photoshop but I will see what I can do, even a smaller white gap would look better than the original I showed. I doubt that perfect tiling could be achieved via photoshop alone but I will try nevertheless.
Update: Thank you for the original pictures without the borders, the end result turned out beautifully

That looks awesome! Will you be doing the other matalic blocks?

Rayvolution has only given me the original texture free of borders for iron so I doubt I can make the other metals look as good but I will still do my best. It may not be a metal but I am going to do redstone blocks nest, I think they will be easier to do with the released textures than the other blocks
You just download the latest version, turn it on and hit patch? :/

Always use it now on!
Just open the texture pack and delete the assets/minecraft/lang/ folder.

All the color codes:
I'll probably tweak it some more in the future, I was mostly just having fun with the new feature.
I'll polish it up some more when I do the item color coding.

What version of MC? 1.6.1 has some bugs with Fonts, but it's been fixed in 1.6.2.
Also, if you're talking about the colored font, that only works in 1.6.x and higher, if you're using 1.5.2 it won't work.
