Simply gorgeous. Really wish I could use this. Maybe one day if I ever play vanilla minecraft I'll give this pack a shot. Keep up the excellent work. And that ice is the best looking ice I've ever seen.
What mods do you use preventing you? I plan to add mod support down the road, I'd be curious to know what some of my fans are using and then I can focus on those mods first.
I know you're not talking to me, but I wish this was compatible with Optifine... Just because I can't use McPatcher (I'm too noob), but if you can't I will just find a way to run my mods with McPatcher! (I'm using Magiclauncher and Optifine right now).

Haha, it's quite a large list I'm afraid. That's the biggest drawback I have with heavily modded Minecraft. There just aren't enough good texture packs complete enough for me to use. I'm very OCD when it comes to it. If I'm running a texture pack and I run into a mod that isn't textured, I drop the TP and go back to vanilla textures. I can't stand the clashing between the textures. Here is a list of a "few" of the mods I use currently. These are mostly the big ones.
IC2
Buildcraft
Thermal Expansion
Minefactory Reloaded
ComputerCraft
ExtraBiomesXL
Forestry
Iron Chests
Logistics Pipes
Mystcraft
Railcraft
... and many more smaller mods.
So, needless to say, a lot. Not really realistic to get them all textured. That's why I have to stick with vanilla textures for modded Minecraft.

Actually the pack will work with the latest version of Optifine, I just don't support it.
But you absolutely must make sure you set "Connected Textures" to "Fancy" in your performance settings or the pack will look awful. I actually just posted something about it right here: http://www.minecraft...fine-ctm-fancy/
The only reason I don't want to "officially" support Optifine is so many people with it will just load up my pack blindly without reading the thread and not get the CTM support.. ..and this pack looks awful without CTM support
It doesn't look too awful without CTM. Thats the way I'm running it since I don't use MCPatcher or Optifine.
I may have to look into putting the least-repetitive version of each texture up as the default one then, for people like you who are stuck without CTM. So at least you won't have repetition issues like that cobble screenshot I posted a few back..
I tried to use it with Optifine, but many items don't show up... You can see by placing the cursor over them what they are, but they're invisible Don't know if I'm doing something wrong...

That's strange? It worked fine for me when I was using it.
Are you using the latest Optifine on a clean install? I tested it with the latest; OptiFine HD D1 Ultra for Minecraft 1.5.1 I'll play with it later and see if I can duplicate the problem.
UPDATE: Fresh install, I could see all the items? Also, try deleting your optionsof.txt file in .minecraft, you might have some wacky setting set in optifine.
Wow, looks amazing this far. Are there any items done yet and how heavily is this still WIP?
Most of the in-world objects are done, with some exceptions like a few of the sprites (Ladders, vines, etc), leaves, and some other objects like chests.
The GUI and Items haven't been started though, I did a little GUI work for fun, but for the most part, there's almost no progress done on the items/GUI. I'm focusing on getting the in-world stuff done first, since I feel that's the most important. But once I get started, items should be done very quickly in comparison. Items a much easier to do than blocks.
But, the pack is completely usable, several people are using it now and downloading a fresh copy every few days to get the latest and greatest.
Ok, good to hear! The contrast between 64x terrain and 16x items is just too big for me, so I gotta wait
yeah, once I get started on items it should go very quickly. To retain familiarity so it's easy to find things, I don't plan to change the fundamental basic shape of the items so it should go pretty quick fast once I get started. There's also 9 versions of nearly every in-world object, where as the items will only have 1 due to mechanical limitations.
Do you have any estimations when this might be done?
To be honest, no, not really. I've debating switching gears to items/GUI work because I feel it's an eyesore right now. But I really want to focus on getting actual in-world objects done, so people can see their builds in the new pack without the annoyance of see those ugly 16x16 blocks here and there.
I have to say that I am genuinely impressed with this texture pack. I have been looking for a new texture pack for some time and I think I will stick with this one for quite some time. I respect that you are staying faithful to the original textures and that you are not using adfly. With your permission I might consider porting this to the Minecraft Pocket Edition so I can enjoy it on my phone as well

I'm not very proficient on the PE edition, I own it on my iPad but I seldom actually use it. But I imagine there's no way to support CTM on the PE version?
Either way, you're welcome to port it over for your own personal use, if I can figure out a reasonable way of doing so, I'll probably make an official PE port once I complete the PC version.

Pocket Edition does not have CTM so no one expects it, I can guarantee everyone would be impressed by this texture pack. I would do the less pleasant bits that are exclusive for Pocket Edition like the gui_blocks and some other gui. I would also reconstruct a terrain.png as Pocket Edition still uses that. I will port it for personal use if I have time and send you a copy in case you do not want to do the unpleasantries, an example of a port I did can be seen here http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1735072-defscape-64x/

Once I do the official version I'll probably end up redoing everything anyway, even if your work is great, I'm kinda OCD like that, I want it all to be "originally" mine.
But I'd love to see a copy of the version you makeup for yourself so I can get an idea of what I'll be getting into when I start that process down the road

CTM OFF (Default Optifine setting)
CTM ON (Has to be set by user)

Thanks for this very cool texture pack.
And i sorry for bad english
