This is a texture pack I made back in around 1.2.5, but didnt bother giving a DL on the MC forums until 1.5, its not 100% finished, but it has textures I drew myself in Paint.net, these include all the swords, pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes, bow and its charging sprites, and armors aswell as the flint and steel and arrow. I am by no means a pro texturer, so dont expect extremely good textures. Anyways, enjoy!
Could you please post some bigger screenshots? It's really hard to see anything with these ones.
No... Just click on the screenshots, then itll show you a larger screenshot. I use Postimage to upload screenshots as I find it easy to use unlike other image hosting sites.
You should never use another person's textures as placeholders without permission. If you need placeholders, you should just use default textures.
And of all the hundreds, if not thousands, of texture packs floating around on the Minecraft forums it would actually be prudent for you to post pictures that people can actually see without clicking to open another window; if it is easy for someone to see/judge/download your work, they will be more inclined to do said things (people tend to be lazy). This is why on the bigger topics you generally see a large array of screenshots (not videos) so people can immediately make a judgement as to whether or not they like it and then a prominent download button and whatever necessary information they might need like the inclusion of an MCPatcher link.
If you want someone to give critiques and stuff, the onus of making it easy for us to do so is on you, not the other way around. It's not hard anyways; all you need to do is post

In any case, I see that you're using Painterly Pack's palette in the weapons/tools and that they seem to be inspired somewhat by Rhodox's style. I would suggest creating your own palette and sticking it as the colors you use for your armour and armour icons and for the tools are a bit disparate. Your armour and such are bright and cheery, whereas the tools are a bit subdued and more somber. It gives a feel that they come from two different packs.
I would say also think about shading, as without it textures look flat. You seemed to have done a good job of it when you did the tools but your armour has little depth. I think you need to be a bit more heavy handed with the shading in that area.
In general, you should try to move away from the Painterly palette with your weapons and tools and try to develop your own style since some of the things you have in your texture look like you just drew over Rhodox's textures. As SteelFeathers the Texturer Extraordinaire once said "A general rule of thumb: If it feels too similar, it probably is."
(And you should probably remove all the Painterly Pack .txt's from your download).
First of all, I will be replacing the flint and steel and arrow VERY soon with my own drawings. The textures more so just got stuck in there. back in the 1.3 version or so(Before I released it to the MC forums)
And I first got inspiration to start creating the texture pack from watching Zisteau and him showing off his Texture Pack.
When this texture pack is fully complete there will be no trace of Painterly I will have you know. Also I like the way I made the weapons and tools, I used my own imagination to make up the weapons, and heck, even offered to have Rhodox put up my textures for the tools via an email but he never replied.(Emails months old now though).
The swords/tools/bow will not change, I like how I drew them, If you are just going to badmouth at my texture pack like your expecting a pro then you can leave, I am not a pro and I doubt that'll change anytime soon.
So. . . . You're not aware that even if the textures are to be replaced, for the time being you're still stealing Rhodox's work? I mean, I'm glad that their pending to be removed, but you're still distributing someone's work without their permission.
As for the pack, are there screenshots of the blocks, or are only the armor and tools done?
I do feel bad for using those as placeholders, even though they really just slipped in. I will be working on them today, the arrow will be a quick fix, but the flint and steel will take a while.
At the monent no blocks are done, all I have done are the armor, weapons and tools, I plan on making my own textures for everything. But that will be a while.
EDIT: Okay the flint and steel didnt take as long as I thought, expect v1.3 of the texture pack in the next few minutes. I dont think I did too bad on the new flint and steel.
-Wiped out all traces of painterly in the texture pack. Now hopefully we wont have any arguements about it.
I wonder what bit of the texture pack I should work on next. I remember making custom carrot, gold carrot, baked potato and potato sprites back on a previous computer I had, but they were lost when its hard-drive fried.

So you just made an account just to say that?
