This is only something that happens to the thread creator, other users always see it on the first load and don't need to refresh.

The reason that you have to refresh is because the widget is ran with Javascript, when you click "save" the post updates but the forum doesn't run the posts Javascript again. When you refresh you're forcing the forumto run the Javascript, and the widget loads. This should only ever happen when you save the post using the quick editor, if you use the full editor it will load on save.

I noticed that the widget doesn't work on profile's "about me" page. Is there any chance that could be fixed? Or is that perhaps not workable?

I've been using the widget in my packs topic but as of late it's just not showing up. I had to add in a direct normal link as no one was seeing the widget to go to the curse.com download.

also little off topic sense you said you also work on the forums... is there -any- hope of the forums 'edit post' getting fixed so it stops screwing up formatting? adding/removeing spacings/going all OMG HTMLish? I love this place but I dread updating my topic as it's a constant go there, look at edit page, go back refresh and hope one of the times it looks 'right' and not messed up.

unfortunately this is a long standing problem with the forum software we use, but we are migrating to a new platform in the near future that will resolve the problem with the editor. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by it, we hate it too
