Hey guys, I just spent several grueling hours making a digital clock for Minecraft. Yes, it was a PITA making every minute of every hour a separate image, that's 2400 images! Anyway, it's a 24 hour digital clock (00:00-23:59). Here it is in action:
I should also note in the video there is a tan line under the clock, that is a glitch from the beta MCPatcher. I can assure you it's not part of the image. Same with the 64x version, there is a white line on the right of the clock. These lines don't show up with an unpatched Minecraft.
I am now taking requests. You can ask in the thread, or PM. The following should accompany your request:
Clock Background
Clock font (If different than my currently used font)
Preferred size (32x, 64x, 128x, 256x, 512x...) If yourclock background is small, don't request a significantly larger size clock.
If you downloaded these clock prior to snapshot 13w09a, you must download this txt file and put it in your items folder with the clock image. Alternatively, you can redownload the clock below which already includes the txt file.
March 11, 2014 - Currently being updated for compatibility of new resource pack system. Expect new downloads in the next couple days. In the meantime, you can still use this in your current pack by putting this file along with your desired clock into the items folder of your texture pack.
Updated March 11, 2014: All clocks are now compatible with the new resource pack system. Simply download the clock and size you want and put it on top of your current resource pack. Enjoy!
How'd you get it done so quickly? Did you have a script or something?
Also, why does it start at 12:00? time=0t is estimated 6:00a in bukkit and other tools.
It wasn't done quickly, it took about 6 hours! No script or anything, just change the time and save, change the time and save, etc... it starts at 12:00 because that's how the clock animation is made. It starts at noon and half way through is midnight. 0 in game time is still 06:00 as demonstrated in the video. When I set the time to 6000 in game, the clock reads 12:00 noon.
Really cool. I havn't done the clock animation for my texture pack yet and this looks like it might be perfect to do myself. Yours looks great, but it doesn't fit my pack.

Yeah, I wish I knew of an easier way to make them so I could make some different styles, but I'm sure more will come with time.
Mind if I use it for my pack, if I can figure it out how to add it? All dedicated to you of course!
and That's A lot of saves! o.o 1440 images. I thought my 100 image water animation was way to much was only way to make it smooth
but you have beaten me I will never look at a animation I create and say that's too many images ever again.

Do have a question though. If you did one frame a minute, then why are there 1437 frames if there are only 1440 minutes in a day?
That's an excellent question... I checked several times to make sure I had all 1440 frames... I'll go back through and see what's going on, thanks for bringing it to my attention. If it's missing something I'll get it updated as soon as I get off work.

The details on the image say it is 64x91968, making it work out to 1437 tiles that are 64x64. If it had all 1440, that would work out to 64x9216, no?
What will make it hard to solve is its only 3 missing frames XD. Good luck. Im making mine only count by 10s for now. thats still 144 frames.
