Nice. At this rate I'm surprised there are still people who don't know about this pack! You really are pushing the limit of epic far beyond those famous packs like Dokucraft, and you don't use HD textures! It's a good thing you can use CTM to do things like that with the egg, too, because that pushes the epic level a hundred pixels higher.
And these complements are still as sincere as I am alive. Or at least I hope I'm still alive. I'd be worried if I wasn't...and these compliments wouldn't be sincere! And then the whole country of India would explode! But I'm alive, so neither of those things is an issue.

I've really come to enjoy using CTM for stuff like that, making room for textures where Minecraft does not is a HUGE addition to the game in my opinion. Although I may never use it for it's headline purpose, I really do feel that it's an amazing mod for texture artists. Even those looking to maintain the feel of Minecraft, like I do.

Love the look, reminds me of an old pack i used back when i first got the game. +1rep ^^
Thanks for the rep. I'm now one step closer to "popular" with this pack!
I'm kinda curious as to which pack you're talking about, honestly.
BTW, here's a new addition to the pack available in the latest release: Plains-specific villagers! Check them out and tell me what you think!
"The people of the plains are very orderly and clean, hence the reason most of them incorporate white into their wardrobes in some way. Even the farmer, whose pants are a bit dirty at all times, maintains a clean white tunic when he ventures away from his fields and out into public."
More biome-specific villagers in updates to come. Deserts are next, so watch this thread for more screenshots! As always, critiques and opinions are greatly appreciated!
Nice. In celebration of this release, I decided to take some screenshots of some Greek-styled buildings that I made when 1.5 was released. If you want to check them out, I posted them on my Flickr, so look at them and give some feedback starting with this picture: http://goo.gl/Mp5nC

Those are some really nice builds. Shame that they're either on a superflat landscape, or that smooth lighting is turned off for the indoor shots. I'd LOVE to be able to ask to use these in the OP, but those are basically the two things I can't have for my 'advertising'.

Again, though, great job on the builds!
Peace and long life.
So if I re-took those shots for you and tried to make it more desert-like with creative building techniques (building mounds of sand everywhere to make it look like it isn't superflat) then you would use them? If you want, I could even make a completely new build in a regular desert world, or another biome if you'd prefer. Glad you like my building prowess, though!
And I can't tell if you got the reference in my last post...

Yes, that would be wonderful. Any or all of it. I'd love to showcase more builds, but I don't have a lot of time to do loads of building myself.
How about this. OK, stop me if you've heard this one before. A butcher, a librarian, and a farmer walk into a desert village... and they were dressed like this:
Get it? Because these are my new desert villagers!
Very deserty. Now to make a replica of the egypt bazaar area from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. In typing that, I just realized how long Indiana Jones movie titles are.
And I didn't reply at the time because I just checked the thread, read it, and then got back to what I was busy with. If I remember I'll make a new temple area in a fields large biome. They'd be based on the big three Greek gods.
Also, if you know of any Norse books that I could read (I have already read Beowulf and that's anglo-saxon, anyway) I would appreciate it if you gave me a few titles!
Wait...who's the asylum convict and who's the blind man? What about the other of us four who are always here? Or is one of us a ghost...? Or was I supposed to be the architect...? Thou hast confused me with thy posts.
myopic (or as I spell it miopic) means short sighted
al's old name was psycho supreme, but he changed his name after he created sanity (an insane man escapes an asylum and changes his name DERP)
the joke only works with three people so I chose you, but didn't know what to say, and since you were building I called you an architect, but then I noticed Malcolm and decided I knew what he was better (bobba fett)
This thread has gotten entirely too meta and derivative for my taste. Some of the proposed punchlines are kinda funny, though.
Question For Everyone: I'm working on the stained hardened clay from the latest snapshot. Should I leave them like Mojang has them, basically a nigh-featureless mass of color, or should I add carvings into each one to give them a little bit of punch?
Well, for hardened clay, I like the fact that it's kinda like stone, so I'd go with an altered stone texture, recolored with some minor, worn-out looking carvings on them. Green can be natury carvings, for example. Needless to say, I have an idea of what to do with hardened clay that would probably take some time to do...

Hmmm...
The reason I'm thinking of carvings is because they're hand-made blocks that don't occur in nature. In my mind, if I was going to take the time to stain tons of hardened clay, I'd do something more with it.
The carvings are going to be subtle, and pretty sparse. Nothing too intricate, but a nice pattern that you don't notice too much, but is definitely there. I'll post examples when I get a few more done.

ModeratorThat it does... at least until I run out of things I want to add...
Thank you!
Thought everyone would want to see the latest addition to my sitting room.
It's always annoyed me how the dragon egg doesn't have unique sides... so I used CTM to make it have unique sides!

now we just need a punch line.

ModeratorI really enjoy the look of these blocks. They feel very solid. I think I might have to adjust the the intensity of some of the colors.
The only thing I'm not sure about is if the patterns are distracting. What does everyone else think?
