. "Sanity" v.4.16 is now available for Minecraft 1.8.4 Now with nicer biome transitions!
Please take a moment to watch my Artist Commentary Video for this update.
Changes to this version include:
● Changed Realms status icons for colorblind compatibility
● Made potion overlay transparent
● Made enchantment glint less obnoxious
● Adjusted grass colors to have less harsh transitions
● Added 3d model for glass panes for better visibility
● Added Peony glitch fix
Please leave feedback for me on this update. I'm particularly interested to know what you all think of the new grass colors and biome transitions. Sorry this was such a small update, but I've been busy working on other projects. Hope you enjoy it anyway!
It's an optical illusion caused by excessive ozone gasses in your Minecraft world. You should start more coal fires to release more pollution into your atmosphere and burn some of it off.
But honestly I have no idea. To me it looks like a very pixilated cube viewed from a 3/4 angle.
. Who wants a "Sanity" Christmas Pack? Hopefully a lot of people. Here's a preview!
So I've been trying to actually get working on this again this year. No telling if I'll make it by Christmas, but I'm still happy to kinda get back into working on this pack. I'm sure some people are going to wish I was working on the 1.9 update instead, but 1.9 is a ways off yet so I'm going to try to create a Christmas Add-On Pack instead! Hope that's something you'll all enjoy.
For starters, chests are now presents. A bit cliche I know, but it's still a nice feature to have when giving your friends and/or server mates presents.
Not sure what I'm going to work on next. I've got a list of ideas, but if there are some things you'd like to see added to the Christmas Add-On Pack then please let me know! Let me know what you think of the chests too! Critiques and opinions are always welcome!
Edit: Also, would you like me to wait until it's "finished" to post a download... or post a download right nowand add to it every few days as I have time to work on this project? Let me know that too!

I like the others, but the ender-chest is kind of a hideous blurry mess. As far as downloads go, I think the earlier the better for Christmas packs.
. "Sanity" Christmas Pack Preview Day 2: Fixed Presents, Recolored Wool, Christmas Decorations, and White Beacon!
I did a fair amount of work on the presents since nobody seemed completely happy with them... including me. Hopefully these versions are quite a bit better. Let me know!
While I was working on the colors of things, I also decided to have different colors for wool, stained glass, and stained clay. Green is a Christmas green now rather than the yellow-green it normally is. Lime has been moved more towards blue, and is now a nice minty color suitable for decorating cookies... or just looking more like another fun pack you may have heard of. As with green, red is more vibrant and less orange. I also decided to bring yellow more towards gold in color. Hopefully you'll all enjoy these color changes during the Christmas season and not just complain how it throws off your pixel art.
Obsidian is going to be white in this add-on pack. It just makes me happy to do so. As you can see from the screenshot, this also affects obsidian-related blocks like the beacon and enchanting table. Similarly the Nether Star will be gold, which shows up in the beacon. I thought it would be a nice change since the star atop the Christmas Tree is traditionally gold. I personally prefer silver, but whatever.
Lastly, I turned Ender Pearls, Slime Balls, Eyes of Ender, and Magma Cream into decorative Christmas balls and the item frames into decorative ornament hooks. It was hard to strike a balance between "obvious" and "invisible" with the item frames, so hopefully this version will satisfy people who want to decorate with items, but not have to change packs to figure out where they put the item frames.
Opinions are welcome, as are more suggestions for items you think should be turned into ornaments. I've got loads of designs in mind, I just need to know what people want changed.
Looks nice so far. Wasn't the holiday theming before a bit more metallic? Either way, with the tweaks to other textures they work really well.
Now...I was thinking it might be a bit stereotypical, but how about pajama-styled or santa-themed leather armor? Candy cane stripes on Dimaonds? I suppose thematic mobs would work a bit better than diamonds, but it might be interesting to at least see how it'd turn out.
Man...thinking back, I've really been out of texturing and community stuff for a long time...

I thought about the Santa leather armor, but it's so hard to get strong colors for the dyes that it wouldn't look good. The alternative is that I remove the ability for the leather armor to be dyed, but I'd rather it still be available. I hadn't considered pajamas though... Hmmm...
Candy stripes on diamonds are an interesting idea. I'm not sure how I feel about it, though, It would be a LOT of work to get everything diamond-derived candy striped. It would look pretty cool, though. I'll definitely consider it!
There will definitely be a few thematic mobs. Mostly just color changes, but hopefully you'll like them.
Man...thinking back, I've really been out of texturing and community stuff for a long time...
Yea, too long. I for one miss your comments.
Thank you for the feedback! I greatly appreciate it!
Hopefully my bum shoulder will heal quickly so I can hold a stylus again. This was about the worst possible time for an injury as I'm trying very hard to get this in a downloadable state as soon as possible. Look for a download next week! (hopefully)
Hrm...Figures the first time I don't mention that I have a not-great memory and get things confused, I'm actually wrong or it's just been way too long for that. And I was thinking about mentioning that, too!
I really don't know why I stopped with texture stuff; I have a good computer now, after all! I'm writing a book (that will hopefully be finished and published!) but I've been out of the loop for much longer than that...But I'll try to not go away for a while again!
Looking back through this and the preview threads, I had an idea that might work, even if it'd be a small addition: Bethlehem/Northern Star imagery in the form of at least one painting. But on one condition: There'd also be a painting for Odin to recognize the origins of Christmas as Yuletide! And don't worry, I could make them if you'd want. Figured I could do something more tangible to contribute this "Holiday season"

Could also be that I have a bad memory. Which I do. Usually I remember when I post stuff about my own pack, though.

Normally I'd like to keep things primarily to Christian imagery because, well, I'm a Christian and that's what I know... but I also have a proud Norse heritage so I think I'd be OK with a painting of Odin being added to the pack.
If you feel like doing one in the Sanity style I'll happily include it. Naturally credit and a link to whatever you want to promote will be included with the pack.
Of course I happen to edit my post at just the right time for you to not have my edit. Watch, as soon as I'm done with this post, you'll have noticed that I edited my post and have edited yours. Either way, I put these together...rather quickly. Despite the time it didn't take to make the paintings, I'd say they came out rather well.

Ha ha. Nope. No edit. Just a normal reply.
I'll have to take a closer look at them. Not sure they're quite right... but then again neither are some of the existing painting so... yea.
It'll be a while before I get to the paintings anyway. If you want to refine them you've got plenty of time. Thanks Shadox!
. "Sanity" Christmas Pack Now Available! Have a very Happy Christmas and a Fantastic Holiday Season
You can download this add-on for all 1.8.x version of Minecraft right here:
More updates and features coming soon. Just wanted to get the basic version published so that you could all enjoy it for a little bit of this December.
So I spent much of my day today re-doing almost everything in this pack.
All of the ornaments are redone, for starters. If you liked the more plain single-colored balls better than the more ornate versions that are now in the pack, don't worry. The dyes will hopefully be turned into sharper-looking single-colored ornaments tomorrow. More ornate ones will also be added in place of certain items, so if you're a fan of those then don't worry. More are coming.
Oh, and the ornament hangers (Item Frames) are now smaller and less obvious so the ornaments are more likely to seem like they're just hanging on the block behind them. Might mess with some of the rest of your decorating... but it might also improve it too. Let me know what you think.
The Nether Star item is now larger and makes for a better ornament in its own right. Additionally, the Beacon is now missing the block formation around it so that beautiful Nether Star makes for a beautiful spinning tree-topper.
Feedback is ALWAYS appreciated! Keep rocking your holiday of choice everyone!
(Oh, and as an added bonus a new version of the core pack is also available. Not much different, but better Acacia Planks. I think everyone can appreciate that. )
It may not be the update you asked for on your Christmas wishlist, but you have to admit that it's still better than getting socks.
As promised, all of the dyes are now single-color ornaments of some description. Mostly just the cliche shiny spheres with which to decorate things. I also made Ghast Tears into icicles, though, since I know those are really popular these days. I hope you all enjoy these additions.
Sadly it doesn't look like I'll be getting this finished before Christmas on account of that event only being a week away now. There was a series of family crises over the last couple of weeks that prevented me from working on it... or at least being in any sort of mood to do anything artistic. It's all settle for the moment, though, so I'm going to try to get an update done for this every day or so even if it's just something minor. That'll leave plenty of room for me to pick this up again next year, though, for anyone that'll still be playing Minecraft in 2016.
Feedback is GREATLY appreciated, and would really help to lift my low spirits this Christmas season. Thank you!

ModeratorWho wants a "Sanity" Christmas Pack?
Hopefully a lot of people. Here's a preview!
So I've been trying to actually get working on this again this year. No telling if I'll make it by Christmas, but I'm still happy to kinda get back into working on this pack. Edit: It'll be fixed in tomorrow's screenshot. Hopefully you'll approve.

That's one vote for an earlier release. Thanks for the feedback!

Not sure what you're talking about. I don't think I posted any screenshots of my previous attempt at a Christmas add-on pack.
