Perhaps this inspires you to make official support for shaders
No likely, particularly since the computer I use to do artwork would instantly turn into a puddle of melted metal and plastic if I even so much as downloaded a shaders mod.
If I ever managed a significant enough hardware upgrade that I could handle shaders, I'd just make a pack based around SEUS. Like, full on right from the off "This is Required" type of thing.
Feel free to use my images anyway you want :), you gave me a good resource pack I feel I should return the favour. It is a shame that your computer can't run shaders, I had the same problem until I upgraded my computer in January I want to say. My advice is, do not buy a prebuilt computer. Alienware, Digital Storm, all over priced. You want to go to a place like Fry's Computing and custom build yours. For just under $2,000 I have a computer that is on par with computers worth $4,000+ (though you do not have to go overkill like I did, you can most likely build a computer to run SUES for about a grand). It is not that hard even, if you ever played with Legos it is the same thing. Everything just clicks right in where it is suppose to be and then you hook it all up to the power supply.

Thanks! I'm sure everyone on Planet Minecraft will love it, and hopefully it will get them to download my pack since, you know, apparently that sort of thing is status-quo over there.

Just to clarify, my good computer probably can... but that's not the computer I do my texturing with. For my art I want to be comfortable, so that means sitting on my bed with my old laptop. Minecraft still runs on it (for now) so I can check my textures as I'm working on them.
My good gaming PC doesn't have the software I use for image editing (Photoshop) and I can't get another license for my ancient version at this point to install on it. I don't want to go back and forth between the two just to make a pack (that would be REALLY annoying) so I'm going to have to hold out until I get a better laptop... or enough money to buy a new copy of Photoshop. (No, I don't care to use GIMP. It's sadly lacking some of my favorite productivity features).
Q: I want to do something with your pack. May I? A: Read the License. You can basically do whatever you want as long as you: 1) give me credit and link back to this thread, 2) make no money from it (including from ads) unless it's a video (such as those found on youtube.com), and 3) release your work under the same license that this pack is released under.
If you do something cool with it, let me know and I'll link to you.
Q: I can't read/don't understand/don't want to follow the license. May I just ask your permission? A: If this is the case, the answer is "no you may not."
I have that license, and that Q&A section, so that I don't have to deal with these questions.
Just so you know, there is already a MCPE port of Sanity. I have no exclusive agreement with the person who made it, though, so you're free to make your own. The pack is licensed to everyone under the same terms.
With all that said, since you can't even spell "authorization" correctly, I'd rather you didn't.
Heuuuuuu i'm french ! Its reason if i write autorisation xD
Exactly. Which makes me think that your grasp of English isn't that good and as a result you won't be able to properly read and understand the license that this pack is released under. As such the answer is "No".
This is a very nice pack, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. I'd rate it 4/5, the cobble stone is a little iffy to me as well as the villagers. Everything else I really like, I'll be using this pack for awhile.

Care to give some feedback on the things you don't like? Saying that they're "iffy" doesn't help me improve them.
I feel like the flow of the pack is not really that great. Some textures are crisp with readable details, good example being the cacti. The biome coloration is really rough and stops the nice flow. Some of the biome colors are calm and desatured with just the nice amount of hueshift in colors, while some consist mainly eyeburningly pure greens.
While I strongly disagree with you about the eye-burning, I will try to explain a bit about what I was going for with the biome colors. Basically, I wanted each biome to have its own feel. Strong, vibrant greens in the jungle, pale greens on the plains, yellowed grass on the savannahs, etc. I feel that this adds an interesting visual element to Minecraft.
As for the transitions, my response to that is "Take it up with Mojang". I don't have control over how the biome colors transition, and when I started this pack back in Beta the transition between biomes was MUCH smoother. When they changed how biomes worked in 1.8 Beta, there was a lot of outcry about the harsh transition between biomes... which Mojang has since ignored. I continue to enjoy the ability to make each biome unique, though, so I'm not going to change this in spite of Mojang's blunder. Sorry.
Lots of the texture are messy and overly noisy, and while i cannot argue if you like a grainy look i can say that it would be nice to recognize some detail and not just noise. The crossing gradients on the planks look rather weird, and not wood like but i feel like you used some parquet flooring or similiar for reference. It has a similiar look but since every plank seemed to use the same texture it doesn't look good at all anywhere else than the floors.
I've struggled with the planks for some time and have yet to find a good solution. I didn't want to go with the standard 'outline' look because I find it ugly, and it doesn't go well with the rest of the pack. I agree that it doesn't look good on walls, and if Mojang ever fixes the block model format to allow manual setting of textures per-face I'd love to have some vertical paneling on the sides of the blocks to make it better for walls... but since that's probably never going to happen I'm stuck trying to think of a better solution. So far I have no ideas that don't require that hideous outline around individual planks, or just making continuous horizontal lines which are almost as bad. If you have suggestions, let me know.
There's also tons of tiling issues, with some of the ores, stone, dirt and grass being the notable ones.
* sigh * Yea... I know. I've done at least a dozen different grass textures and none of them look good. Here's a comparison of the two best ones:
See the problem? Both of them tile horribly and neither one looks like grass. The only way to fix the first problem is to make it flat and featureless... but then that makes it look even less like grass and more like astroturf. That's obviously not a good solution.
I hadn't really noticed the tiling in dirt before, probably because I avoid looking at dirt in general. The dirt texture is scheduled for a re-make sometime, so I'll try to fix it then.
As for the stone... that's another one I've struggled with. There's supposed to be a wave in the rock since I didn't want it to be entirely flat. The problem was that in the original it was too pronounced, so I had to drop it down a notch. Now it looks too flat, and more like a tiling error than an actual feature. I need to revisit it at some point, but I'm having a difficult time making a good middle ground.
I appreciate the critique and will try to keep these things in mind moving forward with this pack. Thanks!
About how i pointed out the grass tiling issues. I like the diagonal lines going through it but there's a notably bulkier spot that really attracts my attention in a bad way.
I'll try to look for it. If you'd care to point it out, that would be appreciated.
I really focused on the negative parts on the first post so i want to say that there's several aspects that i like too. Like the wooden decoration blocks got a nice look to them and the white sand works nicely with the pinkish sandstone.
Thanks!
And don't worry, I understand the concept of accentuate the negative
No mods required but really good looking textures, I like the sound of that. I am temprorarily on a kinda craptacular laptop so hopefully this will work out!

I hope it does! I can personally run it on my own outdated laptop without reducing its already pitiful framerate any further, so you shouldn't have any problems with it. Let me know what you think of it. I always enjoy hearing feedback on my work.
Just add some random CTM for the stone, dirt, and grass. It can do wonders and eliminate tiling errors.
One of the core philosophies of this pack is that MCPatcher should add extra features, but should not be necessary to enjoy the pack. Relying on CTM to fix tiling errors is lazy in my opinion. As such, it's never going to happen for this pack.
Update Coming Next Week! Sorry it's taken me so long, but I've had severe hardware issues and haven't been able to texture in a while. Hopefully I can start back in this weekend. Apologies to all the snapshot users that have had to deal with default textures these last two weeks.

Wow! That's really cool! Would you mind if I used that for my listing on Planet Minecraft? They shove shader screenshots over there.

ModeratorAlso... why 4.5 out of 5? Why not 9 out of 10? What is it with people and arbitrary rating scales?
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
