It's really hard to make a texture that looks good over a large surface area, particularly cobblestone. In fact, if you ever find one that does look good on a large structure let me know; I'd love to analyze it.

No, it's because you do have Optifine. It has its own connected textures that it activates by default, overriding the texture pack in places. I hate that it does this.

Which download sites you people use? The reason I'm asking is that I'm seriously considering removing my mediafire and dropbox mirrors, and hosting my pack exclusively on Curse.

The reason for this is twofold. First, it's a massive pain in the butt to update three download locations when only one of them gets a lot of traffic.

Second, Mediafire has really started to get on my nerves with their advertising, and are now using a lot of the same ad partners as adf.ly with whom I refuse to do business with because of their poor practices. Apparently this has been going on for a while, but I just didn't notice it because I block ads on their site. Regardless, I'd love to drop them as a mirror for this reason.

Now... with that said I don't want to snub anyone. If there's anyone who really needs me to have those mirrors I'll keep using them. Everyone has different circumstances that they surf the internet under and I don't want to say no to anyone if I can help it.

Please vote in the poll above to tell me how you feel about this issue. Thank you.

Edit: The main Mediafire link is being removed on a trial basis starting with the next version of the pack. If anyone is particularly bothered by this, please post in this thread explaining why. Thank you.

Yea, I noticed that Mediafire has started partnering with some of the same advertisers that adf.ly uses, which is what prompted this move.

So far only one person has said they need Mediafire, and didn't bother to comment to explain why so I'm going to assume it was someone who didn't understand the word "need" and just picked what they're most accustomed to.

I agree that it should be banned, though. Fortunately I'd never consider using it. It's basically on the poll just to see how many people care about that issue over an individual file host.

Read the FAQ in the OP. The "I'll never use adf.ly" bit has been there from day one for exactly this reason.

Pretty much this whole poll thing is about me wanting to drop Mediafire because of this very issue. I've grown really upset with how they handle their advertising and want to get rid of it. Thanks! I wanted to make it as easy as clean as possible to have large areas of the glass all together. I hate the grid created by the default, and while I do have pronounced corners they're pretty easy to see around. Anyway, I'm glad you like it.

Now that the transparency is fixed in the latest Minecraft snapshot, do you think I should make them more transparent?

Thanks! I was worried they were a bit over-saturated to fit in with the rest of the pack. I kind of still think that they are, but yet I really don't want to change them. Particularly because I already set a precedent with the wool, and now want to stick to it.

If you find something in particular that you feel is too close to Painterly, let me know and I'll re-do it. As good as painterly is, I don't want people think I'm taking their stuff. I hate thieves as much as the next person.
