PIGPack 1.4d texturepack for Snapshot 13w2a

16x16 resolution

A rich, medieval, and even somewhat steampunk texturepack.

About: It started off being a re-skin of the textures I hated (dirt, gravel, cobblestone, etc), but over the last year I now have a ton of completely original textures, some are still borrowed and modified from other great texture artists. Credit is given in the pack.txt file. The texture community is fantastic, I couldn't have made this without you.
Each update I make has more and more original textures.
Thanks to my clan mates for the inspiration when I was stuck and for putting up with all my obsessive MC chatter. You [PIG]'s are awesome!

It doesn't matter if you credited in a text file.
You need their permissions, credits on the page, forum links, all that stuff.

Right now it's just a mishmash of different stolen texture packs with minimal edits.

wow. harsh. it is mostly original textures and I am creating more with each update. As well as phasing out the borrowed textures.

It's not harsh. It's against the law to use others' works without explicit permission, whether that be by the corresponding Terms of Use, or by a statement from the creator him/herself.

I don't even know what's yours and what isn't, so I can't say a single nice thing about this.

i am sorry about how i went about this and am fixing it. you guys have inspired me to greatly reduce the credits. here are some textures i just created to replace some. more to come!

13 blocks retextured so far, about 18 more to go. then it's mobs, armor, and paintings.

I guess I just needed a kick in the ass to sit down and do more on this. lol

ok, texturepack updated with a lot of textures redone for phase 1 of greatly reducing my credit.

Lots of blocks redone and more to come.

update posted. Still tweaking block textures but for the most part they are done. I started on the mob textures. I really like how the spider and blaze turned out.

the blaze wouldnt hold still but hes made out of my glowstone and soulsand texture and has a cool lil face on there. I am still tweaking and making new textures but this supports the new snapshot so the dropper block won't look so out of place.

Also, as for the OP, it's getting better, but you need more pictures.
Your update logs are just boring walls of words, and as you may know, pictures are a worth a thousand words.

good point, I'll be more visual with my updates. Here's a pic of a bunch of the recently updated blocks.



I'll see about showcasing each update with better pic(s) and pretty up my posts a bit more.

If I ever create a texture pack, I will make it 100% free for people to 'steal' the textures. Seriously, we are all humans, we should help each other. I'm tired of this copyright ­ we have nowadays. In Ancient times, people didn't even sign songs or poetry, yet it was beautiful and inspiring.

Perhaps because most Texture Artists don't like having their work used without their permission, and especially not having others claim it as their own. IF an artist states that people can use their work freely as long as they're credited, more power to them. But last time I checked, a lot of what he had here originally comes from packs where that's NOT the case. Copyrighting exists because no one wants to sink their hard earned time and effort into creating something (no matter what it may be) and then having someone else use their work without their authorization.

Simple as that.

Thanks iamhades123. I considered a 32x but between the texturepacks I already keep up to date and stuff I want to build (and real life) I don't have time for much more. If time permits I might consider it though
