I think it's good that you've done something other than the regular default edit/simple pack, and the textures themselves are quite nice! You could improve it by adding some more contrast to the stone, ores, and wood, and if you lightened the crack in the cobblestone a bit and added some more shading. Then it would be awesome, great start to the pack anyway c:

Uhm, halfslabs don't have their own textures, they just take the texture from their full-sized block partner don't they?
Anyway, the contrast on the cobblestone and logs is way to high considering the fact I can barely tell if the grass/stone is a bucket fill texture or not.
