XD nice.
Yeah, I actually like that more than either of the other ones. It doesn't look too random, but it also fits better with the other ores.
Oh, I've always liked borderless ore blocks better.. Unless they're styled like the iron, gold, and quartz blocks are currently. Tiled blocks certainly have their uses, and I can certainly see the logic in not wanting to change any of Eld's old textures. I'd like it if we could have at least one borderless ore block, unless either everyone likes the borderless idea more in general, or everyone is completely against it.
I'll give the Redstone block a go in a bit. Thanks for the enthusiasm and support so far!
EDIT: I think I'm done. Here's what I came up with: (Borderless) (Bordered)
Also: Is stagnant water supposed to have an animation, or not? I've not been getting one.
Those look great! And personally, I want to keep all the ore blocks consistent, so whichever people prefer (bordered or borderless), I would prefer to have that style for all of them. However, I'm certainly open to suggestions, I just wish more people would give their input!
Also, as for the water and lava: water doesn't currently have an animation, and the lava is default. However, both of those things are things that I've really been wanting to change. If you wanted something to texture, feel free to give either of those a shot! The water texture is in the pack, but I don't believe the lava texture is. If you need it, you can find it in Eld's original download on his website, or if you prefer, I can post it here!

I'm probably not the one to ask for animations, as I've never done one before.. It is certainly something I'm interested in, but I can't promise anything currently. I definitely do want to try, though I'm not sure how well I'll do. I'll probably try to mess with that over the weekend, and I may or may not post the results. As for Eld's original lava texture, I can get it from the original files, so no need to do anything there.
Oh, and the ore blocks.. You might consider starting one of those poll things on the initial post to get other people's opinions without having to have them read the comments. I've never started a forums thread, so I don't know how you do that. I've just seen them around, and think it could be a good idea to use one.

That's a good idea actually, I completely forgot about those! Yeah I'll definitely do that, so anyone who wants to put their opinion in, just vote on the poll when I get it set up! Shouldn't be too long
glad that there is going to be a "alts" folder.
prob going to use the borderless so that things fit together
keep going this is still my fav tecture pack.
what are your idears on the new blocks and mobs?
Well based on the poll, you probably won't even have to go in the alts folder for them, although there are still plenty of goodies in there! And as for the new stuff, I havent quite figure that out yet, and mobs especially I'm no good at, so I'm hoping someone here will be willing to do some texturing!
Hello, I just wanted to thank you (all of you) that have been working with this. Eldpack has been my favorite texture for minecraft for a while now. It's really great to see that its being continued in a way. But I just have a tiny question. (I apologize before hand.) I seem to have a problem getting the new texture pack to work. I downloaded the new version (from the v 1.8.x link), and I put it in my resource pack folder in my .minecraft folder yet it doesn't show up in my resource pack options when I start the game. So I'm not really sure what I did wrong but I hope you guys can help me. And I'm terribly sorry for asking such a newb question but I really love this texture pack (the ui is so cute!). Thank you all again. I can't wait to see the finished project. <3
Edit: Never mind got it. Again thank you all for continuing this. I wish I could help but I have no idea how to do texture packs. Thanks again. <3
It's no problem at all, I'm glad to hear that you like it! Yeah, the problem you encountered there will be fixed in the next update, I didn't think it would cause problems but just for simplicity, I'll just put the files directly in the zip file!
Also, I should have that updated version ready semi-soon, depending on if anyone jumps on to help with the stuff added in the latest snapshot. I'll just whip up some textures for them temporarily, include all the flowers and blocks altswang and Keldt did (I'm going with borderless, also, so thanks everyone who voted on the poll!), and then fix that minor problem!
Alright, after 3 months of intense classes/tests, and some training for pixel art, I'm back to help. I'll updating every now and then with some updated textures.

Why, Just WHY Every single texture pack that was my favorite is getting Discontinued!? That happend to John Smith, Doku RPG, Dokucraft, And The same thing with Eld pack
It is good that some nice people have continued them like: John Smith Legacy, Gerudoku, DokuCraft TSC.
Eld pack Was my Most favorite texture pack ever and i was Sooo Dissapointed to know that it is Discontinued. And After a While, I have find this thread And i was Very happy to see that there is a continuation.
Thank you very much for doing this continuation!!! it looks amazing like the original!!!!
Thank you to all those of you that take time out of your day to continue this pack. It's sad to see the great packs die out but then people like you guys bring them back so the rest of us can enjoy them once again. So thanks to all,

Indeed, it's always a shame when great texture pack makers just seem to abandon their packs. Doku's work in particular I used to follow quite a bit, and not once, but twice he just stopped working on it. When Eld stopped updating, I just couldn't imagine not using the pack, and that's really the main reason I started this little project at all! Glad to hear you both enjoy it, and I certainly hope to continue helping as much as I can for the foreseeable future!
I was reminded of this project by all of the news surrounding the updates to resource pack formatting that allows for 3D models of everything..
And now I wonder...
Will we do these?
No problem at all, this is completely voluntary after all, I appreciate all the work you've done for the project thus far! I don't recall who, but I heard some work being done a while ago on the 3D models, I believe they showed an example with the bookshelves, however I haven't heard any more. I myself completely lack the knowledge of how to do those models, but I think that, in moderation, they can contribute greatly to sort of modernizing the pack, as it were, along side more animated textures. If anyone has the knowhow, I say go for it, I'm very interested to see what people can come up with!
On another note, I think it's high time I get back to actually updating the pack, so hopefully within the next day or two, I should have a much needed update to the pack. This will include all the new flowers, the new, borderless ore blocks, the work crashcraft just did a few days ago, and whatever else was done recently that I don't remember! I might also throw together some textures for the Prismarine stuff, just so we have something
EDIT: Alright, the update is live! Didn't take as long as I thought it would, although the textures for the ocean monument blocks are absolutely dreadful, so sorry about that. Maybe someone else can take care of those soon? I just didn't have a whole lot to base them off of, and it's also been a long time since I've done pixel art. They should at least suffice until someone else can take care of them though!
Someone's gonna have to start working on the banners....
Indeed so, among all the other stuff the recent snapshots have added. That actually segways into my next topic...
As some of you might know, if you've been following the thread for a while, I take an annual 2 week vacation every summer. This year, that vacation starts next saturday, August 16th. So, of course, during that time I won't be able to work on the pack, but that certainly doesn't mean that you all should stop contributing and doing the awesome things that you all do to support us!
I assume that I'm going to miss the proper release of 1.8, but I'm hoping that when I get back, we will have most of the textures we need for a proper 1.8 texture pack release. Anything that anyone really wants to be in the pack before I leave, I recommend getting them here before the 15th, and around then I'll post one last updated version of the pack before I go. Keep up the great work everyone!
Looks great, although do trapdoors actually orient themselves based on how you placed them? I remember they used to face the same direction no matter which way they were placed, causing textures like yours where it has a definite direction to look strange. Also, I had done a trapdoor texture, but it was very hastily made, so yours definitely looks much better!

Don't worry, whichever set I don't use will be put in the "alts" folder, located in the blocks folder inside the texture pack!
