I wasn't sure where to put this, so I put it the discussion forum. The wheat in my farm is only producing 0-1 seeds per plant. The farm does produce wheat, so I know the plants are fully grown. Also, the farm used to produce seeds until I changed my texture pack to Cripta (I was on default before). I changed it back to default, and I get plenty of seeds. Has anyone ever heard of a texture pack screwing up seed production or am I suffering from some other glitch?
This should be posted in their texture pack thread if you think that is the cause, which it can't be. Did you only hit one or two Wheat when harvesting? There is a chance that they drop 0, so you might have just gotten unlucky. Otherwise, perhaps the texture pack's texture for seeds is empty. Put some seeds in a specific part of your inventory and then use the texture pack. Mouse over that slot and see if the tooltip shows up.

No screenies unfortunately. I reverted back to the default texture and that took care of the problem. While using Cripta, I hit about six wheat but only got three seeds. They did stacked as they're supposed to, so I know the texture pack includes wheat seeds. I understand that texture packs shouldn't change game mechanics, but it appears to. That's the part that confuses me.
I couldn't figure out which forum to put this in. If an admin would like to move it to the appropriate place, that would be wonderful.
Can you give the link to download the texture pack?
Most rumours used to say that if you include a .class file in a texture pack it might change the mechanics.
You see, a texture pack changes the minecraft.jar file and since then, it probably changes the mechanics, but I am unsure.
Either way, they used to write "mods and texture packs" in the game menu.
That's hardly a significant sample size. Try harvesting a whole stack of wheat, then come back and tell us how many seeds you got from it. I usually have about 30-ish left after harvesting and then replanting my 64-space wheat farm.
My first thought was that the seed texture was missing from whatever pack you were using but I see you have gotten some seeds. So really this is just random chance being random.
Texture packs cannot change game mechanics.
