I´m glad you fixed the head for the skeleton that made it look a bit like a baby before. The general design is nice and I like the idea with the hood, though I feel it doesn´t really work out well in-game because of that predefined block head. But I´m not sure, maybe the head inside the hood is too small and that´s what´s causing it for me.
Apart from this the skin looks a bit too smooth and fuzzy but I guess you will change this later anyways.
Yes smaller head helps i do like them with the hoods its different and in game they are growing on me as the "evil ones" but yes it still has work to be done on it but i'll come back to the MOB's it was break from the terrain file and quite fun.
keeping my eye on this one... looks fantastic so far!
Hi, thanks very much glad you like it keeping checking back, always good to have new faces in the thread and comments suggestions are always welcome
Phew bit of a slog....Okay, i really don't often sit back and say i'm really happy with something but it happens sometimes. I decided to tackle the wheat growth its a long job in any size pack with 8 stages but i knew it would take some time for all the stages in 128x. I think its about 7 hours roughly.
Nothing to critique on there, just perfect. I see absolutely no flaws on it, but I won't guarantee that until moo posts.
I have a good idea (well, a decent idea) for a banner using that wheat growth texture. I like how well it fits everything else in the pack, it's clean and realistic. I also like how the final stage is realistic but still easy to identify. Nice job on those!

I worried if they were too real looking as I was doing them but I think the boldness of the grass pushed the style away from photo real and in game they just worked!
My idea isn't anything spectacular, I just thought of having a sidegrass texture on the bottom, some wheat in different stages across the middle on the grass, and sky above, and Chroma Hills could be put in fancy font in the top left.
I think the realism level matches though. I can see where you might have seen it as a bit too realistic comparatively, but I think it looks good.

Hmm could work as a banner might have a play with it
Wow, this is looking even better than last time I checked, good job so far. Now to wait for a download, it's definitely a pack I could see myself using a lot.
Hey, good to hear and i'm getting closer to a finished terrain file
Well tonights's texture work has been on the emerald and diamond blocks.

I feel so unhelpful saying that everything is already perfect... Perhaps you could add a touch of light / dark shading over the half-circle pieces around the outside so they appear to move outwards with the diamond / emerald. Right now, the rings have shading, but only edge shading, so they seem flat. They look 3D, but they don't appear to be at an outwards angle, so the entire pieces on the bottom and right could be darker, and lighter for the other two sides so they appear to be at an angle themselves, which would also make the mineral inside appear to have more of an angled bevel as well.
The idea in general is nice though, and really looks "fancy", while many packs make the diamond block too rough for my taste. I understand that some packs have rough mineral blocks to match the more natural feel of Minecraft, but I think the fancy, smooth and rich looking emerald and diamond blocks feel more rewarding when making one in survival, and more decorative in creative.

Yep, totally see what you mean and was good feedback Nothings ever perfect but i'ts nice to see such positive comments but if you have suggestions then i'm always open to them........and anyone else for that matter.
Ok, more shading on the blocks, so they aren't as flat shaded.
I personally think those diamond blocks could be a TOUCH more blue. Comparing to the ore block, this diamond block is somewhat lighter. I haven't been able to see it in-game though, so it could just be a result of the screenshots/shader mod.

I agree, when you see diamond blocks in my opinion you should feel rich. They need a tad bit more of a shine to them in order to give that natural feeling of it is worth a lot.

Thanks guys, yep i agree although the shader does wash it out a little. When i'm back tonight i'll up the contrast of the diamond and add little more blue into the mix
As you say, make it a little more expensive looking.
Well i've brightend up the Diamond block and it looks better happy with that now.
Been having an internal dilemma with my self about the new cobble stone i did, which did go down well with people. It kept bothering me that is looked too man made and was really nice as a building material but rather weird when you cooled down lava and a very clean cut line of bricks appeared...... it was really getting to me SO i've done another one 3rd time lucky they say.
I'll will add the other cobble/brick as a extra with the release because it did look very nice when making houses, so players could always replace a wool colour or something with it.
So heres the new Cobble, i hope it goes down as well as the brick looking one its still nice in game, much nicer for paths and still a nice material to build houses with.
I just checked the terrain.png hoping there was another spot to use the old cobble texture, but there isn't... The new one is more realistic, while the old one is really good in buildings, but looks less like cobble... Kind of a balance that you should have the most influence on. When I see the new cobble on the pathway towards the building, it really looks resemblant of the cobblestone roads in Britain, so it is realistic compared to real cobblestone, unlike the last type. They both look great. I hope you're keeping these textures somewhere for alternates later on when it is released.

I know, i looked also, but yes i'm saving all the various alternatives that happen along the way. More i play it in game the new cobble fits, if youre in a cave and pick axe some stone then lay the cobble in the same area as a block it looks much more at home than a very neat brick pattern that looks very man made.
So......... a bit of re colouring and some shading and i thought well i still need a Nether brick texture, which gets used in house builds quite a bit also.
Well, it would still be possible to use the old cobblestone texture on the pistons, as an alternative for stone bricks, as sandstone or netherbrick if you recolour it, or even as the side texture for stone slabs. But for cobble I really prefer the new texture, it´s just so good.
The new wheat is great too, but I would add some foliage to the sides and/or bottom of the stalks, because they look a bit unnatural by now. And naturally the head of the wheat is only visual from the last few growth stages on, so if you want it more realistic you should consider to change that.
Edit: That netherbrick was faster than expected! ;D
Ahh Moo, you should know by now I texture at warp factor 9 ;D
I'll get a new terrain file over and yes i see what you mean about adding a little something to the wheat stalks
Glad you like the cobble that is 100% staying for the release.
I see on many texture packs that the dirt texture that has grass on top (1 block high) is a different dirt texture used to the main one. Does this need to be done with CTM guys? Could someone link me to the Properties file for this please?
Sort of off-topic, but what are your computer specs? Just wondering since you're able to run Shaders and 128x packs at the same time.
Hi, sure no problem. The PC i'm using mostly for MC and development is my main design/3d/games rig. It currently runs a Intel 950 I7, 16 GB dd3 ram, 2 Nvidia 580GTX SLI (currently running on single card fan issue on one) Windows 7 64bit pro.
I´m not quite sure if you are talking about the sidegrass texture and therefore the 4th texture on the first row of the terrain.png. If so, you don´t need no CTM for it, you just change the texture itself to look different than the regular dirt.
Ah okay, i do have it so its got a shadow for the grass edge but it didn't look like it was showing in game, i'll play with it again then.
Well i did some apples tonight as a test for the items style, the shader does lighten them a bit as the Red apple is quite a rich darkish colour as a basic texture, drawn in 128x.
Back on the items tonight...... bit of chicken and the first weapon up is the wooden sword. The shader does brighten them you can see the non shader colours in the HUD.
Ahhhgh.... the horde are coming!!

I would love to hear what people think?

Awesome job with the texture I really like the skeleton they are very unique!
