I do agree about the stone idea though, a tad smoother would be nicer. There is a lot of detail in most of your other blocks, that when building larger structures, a smooth stone would be a good mix.
I'm working on something big...
The bump-mapping looks amazing so far, it's just the right amount in my opinion. It's also nice to get about ~60-70 fps with the updated shaders, I know you've been helping with that as well.

Well i looked at it again, and it was too photo real so I've given it more style. I can add a couple of knots on the side as a CTM texture
Looks a little dull compared to the first one detail wise but maybe more fitting to the pack.......less is more?? Also i noticed a techinical error, due to how the texture is mapped on the block the ropes wont join up when going over the top on one edge.
It looks much better without the rope on top

Shame I cant make use of all these wicked CTM features since MC Patcher won't work for me any more. I would turn to Optifine but it brings down my FPS completely.
Right heres a photoshop mock of adding the knots with CTM, shall i go for it?
Ooo I love that hay texture! I'd deffo say go for that nice bit of CTM too, make it look more real while still keeping the cartoonness. Clearly real haybales do have knots - not having knots on any texture bigger than 16x would bug me immensely... I handle haybales every winter due to living with horses haha!
Thanks for all the comments on the Hay, seems we have a winner so i'll make the CTM work on it
SO I GUESS ALL I NEED TO SAY IS WOW AND THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE THAT ARE WITH ME ON THIS JOURNEY WITH ALL ITS TWISTS AND TURNS.
We hit the big one today in such a short time frame folks, just blinking incredible I tell ya. I wanted to make something special but just haven't had the time with the 1.6 release but i whipped up a little something for the occasion. 17,000 downloads in 6 days has put us over such an incredible milestone....... that is insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just remembered something from when I was messing around the other day, looking at the textures that needed to be added. I forgot to add the little heart particles you get from taming wolves and breeding animals. Oh, and the melon and pumpkin vines from when the fruit is fully ripe.

Them hay bales be looking fine, Will have some screenies to share of my latest build on here and the website shortly, can only wait for the awesomeness that will be coming when the 1.6 shaders / bump maps!

How did you get those bumps working? Are you using 1.4.6?

I'm guessing he has dontated to Sonic so has access to the SEUS files and of course has downloaded the latest update of CH shader version which includes some bump maps
about the hay - what scruffyjoe said. I'd love to see the wheat strands on four of the six sides - whould just make more sense. the texture itself is beautiful tho - both the more realistic one and the second. yay for the knots!
oh man can't wait to see all of this pure awesomeness in 1.6!
Thanks, first feedback i had on the dirt CTM and i like how it breaks things up
I'll get the CTM sorted on the hay.
I put a coal block together today. So how about some suggestions for hardened clay folks?
For stained clay, make it as smooth as possible, not unlike default. It is one of the most useful meterials for building and you need to get it right! It must also tile extremely well and shouldn't be too detailed . You could also add ctm...
Also: A request, if I may, PLEASE make white stained clay more like white. The default is pink .
I don't think CTM should be necessary for stained clay, it's supposed to just be a solid colour, though obviously I'll trust Sy's judgement on this one
And isn't white stained clay the one that's flesh coloured? I don't think that should really be messed with, quite useful for making faces/skins.
I'll try something for the clay its gotta be subtle i could do CTM maybe like the Ice so it has some edging to it maybe? would be quite a lot of textures in the pack though as it would need a set of 47 textures per colour!
With the new resource packs you should also add sound. Traditional celtic/viking music or something? That's what dokucraft are doing. I had a chat with WantedRobot and he sent me the sounds their using. It really works in game!
He does some crazy stuff...He's apart of FyreUK right? They can build anything

I think I need to focus on the visuals first but yes sounds will be added, and have proper studio facilities and sound techs and musicians i can call on if need be but first things first.
Hey Thanks Its great to see someone who would usually only look at 16x pack recommend something SO different as a way higher HD pack so i'm very pleased to hear you and many others enjoying my work in a resolution you usually would not go for

Oh Jake look on page 116 and post #2315 do that trick to get more variaton in the cobble

I say go for it, that looks good!
I added those files to the ctm\random, the walls have random cobbles now!

Sonic is working on it, 1.5.2 shader mod is already out but it doesnt support bump maps.
Ah few more for the list then
Yeah, also it does fit the pack better so I always appreciate feedback
Thanks Ditch, i will continue to give it ma best
Awesome look forward to the build!

I'm using 1.5.2 with the SEUS M6 shaderpack. It's on his sugarsync files, which you have access to if you've donated to him.
Then of course the latest 1.0.3 version of Chroma Hills (x128 for shaders).
