I'm having a weird transparency problem. The most noticeable thing is smoke from torches and redstone ore, but I've seen it on a few other things too (glass panes/blocks is the only other thing I can remember at the moment). Things that are supposed to be transparent are just solid white (or sometimes grey/black if the lighting and angle is just right).
I'm using Minecraft (1.8), Optifine (1.8.0 HD U B6), Shaders Mod (2.4.7 mc1.8), SEUS (10.2 preview), and Chroma Hills (128x 1.8 1.0.11). Although (if I remember correctly) I'm pretty positive that I was having this problem without optifine/shaders and just the texture pack with a fresh install of minecraft as well.

Any idea of what could be causing this problem?
It looks to me anything using 1.8 optifine with or without shaders is going to have bugs glitches until they are ironed out all i'm doing with the pack is providing textures and they are all fine and work 100%. I'm sticking with 1.7 with great shader support and mucho mod support also until 1.8 bugs and glitches are sorted
Talking of mods
IT BEGINS! BIOMES O PLENTY and BETTER FOLIAGE mod support underway, big thanks to Soldan who is assisting me with converting CH textures while i create new textures, should progress fairly quickly I worked on a few plant life textures

Right... Update time!
This time I have focused on things other than blocks and items.
Both dart projectiles are done, but it is quite a difficult task to get the model on a picture, so I left em out.
Blocks:
I know, Ethereal wood still needs bettering.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of info there's a lot going on in Syclone land right now but rest assured I'll be back on things asap
I would like to announce to all the donors and Patreons that the Biomes O plenty first update is now up for you guys to try out and leave feedback on
There's some exciting things coming up in 2015 some are Minecraft related. The new development studio Syclone Studios Is getting near to releasing some pretty cool things and "fingers crossed" we will be seeing some of you and showing it off at Minecon2015. If you would like to keep in the loop join our new twitter @syclone_studios and Facebook page Syclone_studios
I'll have some pack updates to show and will upload the latest 64x this week also
Also CH hit 3 million downloads folks! There are NO words to express this *speechless*
Just to say to people with transparency issues on like smoke and stuff:
It seems to be a problem with SEUS. On transparent objects like smoke it forgets that there's a block behind it and instead shows the sky. It does this with the blockbreaking cracks too.
I know this because I haven't had optifine installed since I got my new PC, but I have had shaders and it only happens when I have SEUS enabled.
YAY BOP SUPPORT *runs off at high speed to download the update* I've been playing BOP recently and have been wanting chroma hills textures on it!
Could you do textures for The Mists Of Riov and The Mists Of Riov II sometime by the way please? Thanks. I'll probably do some temporary colour conversions for my own use, but some textures would be cool to have sometime.
Hey all well sorry I've been rather quiet those of you who follow twitter/facebook will see that we after many months in the works me and the team unveiled Syclone Studios if you would like to see some of what we are up to (we have been VERY busy) our new site is now live here http://syclonestudios.com/
Also I've got back to looking at the pack and reading various posts/feedback.
So firstly it seems that when using 1.8 and current versions of Optifine it breaks the fancy leaves on trees. I will create a simple Add-on pack that fixes the leaves for Optifine users. Maybe in a later version of Optifine this will be sorted and won't be needed.
Also, some how in the launch of the latest CH pack version V.11 I didn't sort out a 64x version! Ooops!
So I will aim to have the 64x update out tomorrow sometime
Sorry again for my absence, its been quite crazy juggling many things recently.
First of all, congrats on getting the studio up and running. Very exciting!
I also wanted to say that I am in love with this pack! I'm extremely picky when it comes to textures for this game. For the longest time, I only used a default improvement pack because I couldn't find anything else I liked. Well, the pack wasn't getting updated to 1.8, so I decided to look for something new. I looked for a week when I eventually came across this pack. I loved the pictures but was skeptical. Usually I would find a pack I liked, but after getting it in game and seeing it for myself, I wouldn't like it as much. This pack though. This pack was a true winner from pictures to in-game. I LOVE the style of this pack.
Needless to say, you get the seal of approval from an extremely picky player. 5/5 for you!
If I could get BoP to actually work, I'd love to take a look for myself. Lol! Still trying to figure that one out. Can't wait to see what else you've got planned for this pack!

Thanks so much, yes Syc Studios is amazing love my team and we can't wait to show more soon
Pleased you are enjoying the pack so much great to hear your comments
I absolutely love this resource pack, it's beautifully made and it's a pack that I feel like I couldn't live without. But I would really love it if you made a lower fire animation. I love the pack, but when you pvp you can't see a thing. I can't seem to find any good fire texture and I would love it if you guys made one, at least for an option!
First of all, congratulation on Syclone Studios, I wish you lots of luck and a great success!
Second of all, yay! 64x pack! Makes me so happy, finnaly I can try to brake my game again!
Lastly, is there any reason at all why I shouldn't be using the newest 64x pack for 1.8 on Minecraft 1.7? If there is could someone please let me know before I really do brake my game? XD Thank you. I mean I know there will be blocks I don't need which would unnecessarily increse the size of the pack, but I can just throw those out of my folder to trim it down right? (That's what I did the last time my PC threw a hissy fit about not having enough RAM to run the pack and it worked so I'm assuming purely on that basis, I don't even know why it would be necessary but if it would, I can do that.). Is there anything else that's changed in some way and might be interfering with older versions of vanilla Minecraft with only MC Patcher and might be a reson why I shouldn't install it for 1.7? I kind of really want the villagers and GUI changes XD Also Please don't hate for stupid question, I'm blonde! (Well not really but when it comes to technical stuff, I certainly should be).
Edit: I also quite clearly can't spell, but my excuse is that English is not my first language and I can't force my browser to check spelling for me in a foreign language. (In truth I'm too lazy to check the spelling in an online dictionary... yes two clicks away, clearly I'm not to lazy to type all this though... I need to revise my priorities.)
Hello Viper!
As I understand the way Minecraft is built and it's mechanics, using a so-called "overdated" resource pack should not break your game. And if it does, something is really wrong and should be looked into. 1.7 Minecraft does not know to load 1.8 textures at all.
As far as removing unused textures, why don't you just download 1.7 version of it (1.0.9)? I think extra 20 megabytes is not that much.
Hi there. My wife and I recently began revisiting Minecraft since our newborn has started sleeping for longer stretches. She asked me to find a good texture pack... After much search and evaluation, I've settled on Chroma Hills. It is simply the best in every way.
My only (minor) gripe is that x128 is the highest resolution. It still looks good on my 2556 x 1440 monitor, but x256 or x512 would look amazing. Are there any plans to release Chroma Hills in these resolutions?

No plans to go high than 128x as yet over 2 years on the pack so far and a lot would need re doing from scratch for the added detail. Some textures in CH do run at 256x though like the armor and few other things its a bit of a hybrid pack really
Okay few little updates, I am putting time on the pack a bit now

Gold shovel and beacon now done.
My order of doing stuff would be something like getting all of the textures done on the main pack, then doing all the new textures and then possibly enlarging texture size. But that's just me...
Worked a new mob today folks, lot of people been asking to see nether mobs done so I went a for a creepy looking Ghast to spook you while exploring the Nether
