I'm really looking forward to the release of this! this is turning out to be everything I wanted, but lack the skill to do with SMHD.
Thank you! Its great to see people coming back and still liking what they see as it progresses Regarding skill, i don't think I've seen a more helpful and like minded group of artists/forum in one place to continue to push people and for skill sets to grow and improve and swap tips and techniques. When i was making games and bouncing from studio to studio i just sucked up as much knowledge as possible and put it into practice in the things i did over and over until it started to work.......
Brilliant you got it all up and running and i'm glad you like it i was very intrigued to hear your feedback, as you prefer the lower res packs which yours is a beauty i might add. So wow i'm really pleased to hear the positivity in your comments.
I'm am pleased with my Hybrid shaders its taken all bits i love about SEUS and i feel it works to enhance the pack. Oh and wow your screens of you world are good enough to eat! I don't have any fancy builds, is that save something you could send me?
Please also use it without shaders and i hope you still find good things to say and that it holds its own as most people will run it without them. There will be a dedicated non shader terrain file as its too dark in places and other adjustments.
The packs 128x not 64x but it will also have a 64x version for release.
Leaves, great feedback they are one of the first textures and i'm not happy with them, they used to bigger, look at old screens on 1st page, so i sized them down by 50% but hmmm maybe something totally different........leaves aren't my strong point.
Flowers, they are going to have to totally change...........they don't fit in the flower pot Need a nice bunch, so i'll re do them.
Also, you need to turn off connected textures, or you wont see the lattice windows (perfect for the windmill) or the bookcases until i do CTM of course.
Please continue to test, great to have you on board.
EDIT..... make sure you have Chunk set to default so that lovely field of wheat blows in the wind
EDIT..... Fix that windmill window, and i would use that screen for one of the paintings.
EDIT..... Am i right in thinking that with Tekkit the windmill sails could rotate??
Sorry guys, no new updates tonight but I've started on the Jukebox so will have that up tomorrow/today 3.30 am here.
Yea, having things fit into pots was a problem I had, I changed my flowers to make them work for them too. Quite the bummer!
Leaves were also a massive difficulty for me too, took me ages to get a style I liked...
Also, I can't believe I forgot to turn off CTM, I kinda derped in that respect (just checked it and your windows are gorgeous, I really love windows that aren't just borders)... I did check your pack without shaders too though and I liked it just as much. Blocks looked a bit richer and the darker feel made it a bit more medieval which is a theme I'm also very attracted to so no problems there!
I would retake the picture but the sun has moved to a different point in the sky on the save and I don't have the time to wait atm. Here is the save file for the world though, it should be facing the windmill, right next to my main base where I took the other screenie. Hope you take some nice pics with it!
I prefer red clay too, to be honest. I know there is gray/blue clay. I worked with it. But there is also lots of red clay out there and it looks friendlier.
I mean, bricks are red too.
I will take a look on the other updates ingame today.. I was busy with a larger project on my server this week and didn't want any distractions.
Red or blue, i'm happy either way if most of you say red then lets have that as the official pack colour I think the update i sent has the red.

Your Werld is wonderful, thank you all built in survival too! I got VERY lost in your mines, so just dug straight up in the end and came out about 2 blocks from the back gate....... i couldn't believe it LOL
It was great seeing my pack in your world very tranquil indeed.
Well had bit of a issue tonight with MC corrupting and lost me some of test areas iI've been buidling but I think the forced update solved it
Also noticed we hit over 10K views today, woah!
So only the Jukebox to show you guys, let me know whatcha fink Shall I remove the "Powered by Diamonds" ? Its just a silly idea, like Intel inside or something but went with it.

Hmm... This is finally something I can critique on.
I like it, and it is insanely realistic and smooth, not to mention completely original, but I'm just not sure how well it would fit in with the rest of the pack. It is very good, so I would keep it as an alternate, if nothing else, but the top has a slight bit too much on it (in my personal opinion), and a lack of something to actually play the record.
That's fine, the thing that actually plays the record always looks weird since the block is flat, so I think it's best not to have it, but I think it is a slight bit too much stuff on the top for me. The creeper speaker is possibly one of the most amazing, amusing, and creative designs I've ever seen on noteblocks or jukeboxes. The shading on the meshed wire is also well done, the edges seem nice and rounded into the wooden bevel. The Treble Clefs... They are very nice, and well done, but... I'm not sure... Maybe if the top looked to have more room, the clefs would seem to fit better... I don't know, that's just my opinion.
That "powered by diamonds" thing is nice! I like that! That's really up to you, but I find that since it's on the frame, it doesn't really take away from anything.

Fare well everyone! My time to retire has come! "And with that, POW! I'm gone." ---Lord Crump
You have been liking everything recently...... not that i'm complaining
Okay, I'm happy with the front, glad you like my creeper speakers it just had to be done The top i wasn't sure it was just a little too techy, so you have picked up on that. I like the idea having the hole where the diamond sits to power it. What if I try just making the turntable much bigger so its the main feature of the top? All the machinery is inside the arm reading the record is underneath I thought the arm would look too techy? i have draw one (well started) but thought naaah. Can make the record animate also.

Well, the only time I've actually seen a genuine record player was at my grandfather's house, and it is a whole dinner table-sized system, so I've never really known if the arms could be underneath or anything like that.
I was thinking of editing my post to specify that, but I'll just answer here now. I do like all the stuff on top, and I don't think it's a matter of the amount of stuff, I actually think it is a lack of a "centrepiece", I guess. So making the turntable bigger would probably help as long as the change in size doesn't make the turntable itself look worse. Now that I really look at it, I think the clefs fit in, so it's really just the top that I find something "off" with. I like the diamond in the top too, and I like how it finally explains that common question: why does a jukebox need a diamond? I like all the stuff on the top, but if you could somehow have the turntable larger to get a "centrepiece", it would look great!
I think your right but at the same time its a nice bit of detail i don't know now Making the turntable bigger makes it more of a center piece and keeps with boldness/style of the pack but its less detail hmmmmmm
Yeah, I like the first one a bit better, but you should definitely keep both, as the difference is an opinion-based thing, so there would be many people who like both. I am partial to the simpler, detailed-yet-clean-and-smooth types, so I like the first better, but that's me. Having one as an alternate would be good because then you could take your time to decide, then you can decide which one will go in the terrain.png while still providing the other for people that prefer it.
Also, animating it? You mentioned animating the record, but the light would be in the same place regardless of the record's orientation, and it doesn't (and really shouldn't) have a contrasting texture on it, so I'm not sure how you would make that appear to spin. I'm confident you would whip out another insane animation that I couldn't have thought of if you did animate it though. If you do, maybe you could give the diamond a pulsating glow? Just a thought.

It's a cool idea, but the diamond is in the crafting recipe because record players used diamonds/crystals as the needle to play records.
I don't think an arm would look too tech-y, but if you don't want it on the top as an arm, instead you could make it look like a CD player, and instead of an optical eye, a diamond shard pointing up (in a square that can move back and forth). (not sure if you've done this) Then, you use CTM to have the Jukebox be empty when there is no record in it (thus you see the needle below), and CTM it so either when any record is in it shows a texture (IMO better just because it's not worth making so many textures for something with a small result, because of space and performance), or CTM it so every record has a specific texture when it's being played.
If you wanted animation, you could animate the label spinning, as like Corner said, the record IRL wouldn't look like it were spinning if it were perfect and spinning correctly.

Some interesting ideas there, and you are right about the stylus I will look at some kind of arm and the diamond shard idea is quite funky actually.
Its something I could spend a lot of time on for not the most used game block. I could let go as is with a static top and update later. I'll see what you guys think of the anim in its current state.
It's good to have you giving feedback in here (can see you are well respected on MCF) be interested to hear your overall impressions of the pack. Of course if HD is not your thing then no worries totally understand.
Hello, there isn't a download link available yet as i'm still working on the pack till there is enough to release it. There are some forum members testing it for me though so you will see a few people using it posting here
It wont be too much longer until i release it, maybe Jan/Feb
Jukebox, anim as i said its just testing motion might just drop it lets see what you guys think. The label motion needs smoothing. There is detail lost (grooves in record) as its only a 480p phone vid.
The animation for the centre of the record looks great but to be honest, the outside just looks like it's flashing... I think you should really tone down that effect. It would make it look a lot more natural. Really love the texture itself though, looks great!
A couple of things you could add to it though:
-Make it so there is no record showing when there is no record in it! You can use ctm combined with metadata to make a seperate texture for when there's a record in it and when there isn't. (I've done it for my pack, just download it and have a look at the properties file for it if you want to figure it out)
-Make the diamond pulse. Since you're doing the 'powered by diamonds thing' maybe you could make the diamond pulse with a little bit of light if it's playing or not. Could look cool!
As I said though, really love the texture itself, can't wait to see the next thing you make!
Hmmm yeah I think it looks more like flashing as that video is too low Res to see it properly . Let me see if I can get HD fraps grab instead and I will tone it down also :-)
If you look above at what G and lemon were saying we talked about ctm and glowing diamond :-P I'll grab your properties file thanks Sheep.
I may also just crack on with more important blocks :-)
EDIT actually I will send you guys the files to look at in game
Bit slow on the pack at the moment but i have the Gold Axe done and working on some more items.
Very nice I love the details. As far the the record the actual lighting on the record wouldn't change when spinning unless you had a spinning light source. I think just moving the middle part is really all you need to give the illusion of it spinning.

Thanks quite happy it turned okay as i wasn't happy for a while till i got a handle i was happy with. Yeah gonna leave the Jukebox for now re visit it later down the line i think.
That gold axe is amazing! I love the detail in the reflection, and the handle is really nicely laid out!
Out of idle curiosity, how large was it before you scaled it down?
Thanks G, its a bit glitzy guys but hey it is the gold axe
I did the main head/blades all in vector and just used gradient fills with a image around 800x400. Then scaled it down, rotated it and added the handle, diamonds, other details which is part vector part pixels.
I did put this up in the TAU thread but that moves pretty fast.
Holy cow, your pack is beautiful! I can't wait for it to come out! I think my favorite parts are the stone and ores. The record player reminds me a bit of Misa's, but it's different enough to be unique
On a side note, the shaders you're using are pretty too. I can't remember which ones I had been using, but mine weren't nearly as soft looking.
