Hey, If you use Chroma Hills without MCpatcher or optifine you are missing 100's of extra textures and enhanced features that I have added to my pack that can only be seen by using those mods. To really see Chroma Hills running at its best and and the full experience i highly recommend you do this, you won't regret it
i use optifine every now and then and i honestly have never seen any difference. the textures looks the same to me.

So folks CH is officially 1 year and 2 months old from the first day I sat and made a texture. Its been downloadable now for a little over 6 months and we are over 400,000 downloads. The biggest amount of downloads in one day was a little under 12,000.
To date and counting it has over 1200 CTM enhanced textures, i'm not after breaking any records of having a "look at me and how much CTM I've done badge". Its there to enhance my vision as an artist.
I've worked easily an average of 6 hrs a day on CH up to today. Many days its been more like 8-10 hrs. My CH work folder currently has 4,800 files in it and sits at about 7gigs of data. Currently on Youtube there are over 10,000 videos that feature CH. The top 3 countries using Chroma Hills are USA, France and Germany.

How long does it take for the RP to download? The length of time is changing. It goes down then it goes up, then down, then up. Not sure what's going on. Normally, a TP or RP take no longer than a minute, right now, it's taking upwards of 45 minutes to download.

if you computer is good it should take 45 seconds or less, if your computer is ok it should take about a minute, if you computer is trash and deserves to be thrown away its 5+ minutes

I figured out that because of Cyber-Monday, the server where Chroma Hill's has it's website, is getting way too much traffic, and consequently, there's going to be lag.
Anyways, I managed to get the RP, after waiting fifteen minutes.

Nah, you underrated everything. A PC with Intel GMA Graphics should handle it in 1-2 minutes depending on the pack itself. A desktop with intergrated AMD graphics (A8-5500) should handle it as well as a PC with an i5-4670k and a Radeon HD 7970 should. Shaders mod is completely different. Only the APU and the higher end desktops can run it. But of course, the one with the Intel GMA Hd can only render the tiny distance without lag, :P.
He was talking about downloading it not running it guys. The depends more on internet speed than computer speed actually getting it off the internet and onto your PC does. Why does everyone assume it's the PC what it's actually the internet connection it's self? >_>

This is because the cables that connect my computer to the outside world are bad. Bet you that combined with the place the RP is hosted being overloaded today is why it was slow, not the person's PC.
(Sorry. people automatically assuming your PC is bad when it's the connection to the outside world that's bad is something that can annoy me quite a bit. Not everyone lives in the middle of a city and has a fiberoptic connection!)

Depends on you internet connection. All the other people who are talking about your PC doesn't know much about either the internet nor PCs. Download speed doesn't have anything to do with how "good" your PC is.

That is an odd one, on my connection it takes under a minute for the 128x version. I guess just a traffic issue as you/people have pointed out.

Lived way out in the country where there isn't a decent connection for miles around meanwhile having a not bad PC? Well my dad has done all of those and I live in the countryside with a connection as slow as the M5 in rushhour. Actually, no, no-one has a connection THAT bad. That doesn't even count as a connection.
About 97% of slow downloads are because of slow internet, the other 3% being a duff program. It's actually really rare for it to be the computer limiting the speed of the download. Spending money on a better PC is NOT the answer to every problem.
