As I understand it , always use the most up-to-date version of the texture pack. Doesn't matter if it has textures or items that are not available in a previous minecraft version. (Judging by the Question I'm assuming that you use 1.6) Using 1.7 TP version will no way affect your running of 1.6 game version. (at-least I've never ran into problems)
There are some changes that are 1.7 specific small but different and also keeping the packs separate
This pack is awesome. Thanks for creating it. I love the stained glass. One question though. I asusme the plan is to convert all of them to the cool glass like what blue stained glass is right? Take yellow for example, its stained but its not the "church-like" stained that blue is.
Thanks so much, yes still a work in progress so somethings are not complete yet
The pack is not done yet, so of course there are missing textures. But what I find works amazingly perfectly is to layer the most recent version of the community continuation of ovo's rustic pack under this one. Most of the empty textures of this pack get filled in by ovo's and the two packs work pretty well together.
I take a screenshot today, and look at the bottom of the sky, it's like there is something missing or something like that
I don't know if it's from the ressource pack, from the game itself or..
can you help me ? It's more visible on the blue part of the sky.

in mcpatcher options, set the horizon to a lower #... not the best solution imo, but it helps. I have that same issue... or the horrible transition from day to night..(instant dark...no transition) it doesn't always happen tho... so vanilla and/or patcher bug?

Yep its the FOG, in Optifine you just turn it off i can't think why MCpatcher doesnt have a way of turning it off. I will try the Horizon trick as it looks dam awful using Better Skies with MCpatcher.
faust! ahhh! see Sy, you have all us old dogs playing with your pack! lol anyway...on topic.... just thought I would toss a screenie of a build I'm working on... love your color palette!
Haha indeed Grugs, great to hear it's doing the rounds
Cool looking screenie very colourful, keep us updated with the progress
I switched from PureDB and tried out your resource pack on vanilla minecraft and loved it. Then I noticed in the splash screen I should use MCPatcher, so I did. After applying the patches I had the nice stuff like connected and natural textures, but the nicely drawn models of tools/weapons I saw before were standard again. Also the blue orchid ahows up correct in the inventory, but appears as a red flower when planted.
What went wrong here?
Also I'd love to see the fishing improved - I am missing the bubbles animations from PureDB that show when the fishes swim towards the lure.
And while I am writing this: will you r resource pack be able to do waiving grass, wheat and leafs?
Keep up the great work!
Regards
Poldi
EDIT: the wrong textures/models were there because I still had PureDB in the active list after Chroma Hills. After removing I had to discover that most of the saplings look really ugly - haven't you done those yet?
Hey glad you like it
The resource pack is still a work in progress so you will see unfinished textures like the ones you mentioned. Bubbles are done and should show up fine?
Keep up with my updates and you will see that the pack is getting nearer to being complete as I continue to work on it
I tried and it was not the fog setting, but Sky setting
If i put SKY on Off in optifine, it looks much better, but the sky is a little bit less blue
i dont know if you can do something for this
With sky ON
With Sky Off
Aaaaah yes if you are using Optifine and not 1.7 then you have to turn off the default sky and leave custom sky on and it will look great. Yes there is a difference in the blues but i can't really do anything about it but i don't think it's a big problem

I find putting a texturepack layered under chroma hills works fine? Weird... (I use ovo's under Chroma Hills because it's a pretty finished pack so it removes most of the default textures and they look really good together.)
Can someone help me installing this texture? I can't seem to install it using the new MCpatcher, and the .zip file with the texture pack only has a folder called assets and no instructions on what to do with it.
Thanks for your time!
im unsure of your problem to tell the truth. i just use normal minecraft. i neve bothered to even look up what MCPatcher is.
just download it from the link, open up the Start menu type in %appdata%, click on .Minecraft or Minecraft. (i keep forgetting), go down to resource packs, put the file in the recourse folder by copy and pasting the adress. here i will try do give you some pictures

Hey, If you use Chroma Hills without MCpatcher or optifine you are missing 100's of extra textures and enhanced features that I have added to my pack that can only be seen by using those mods. To really see Chroma Hills running at its best and and the full experience i highly recommend you do this, you won't regret it
I will make sure i add a installation guide to the pack AND the front page of this thread to help people install it.

Anyways hope you enjoy your time with CH.
Sorry for lack of updates over last few days folks, I'll have something new to show you all soon!

Download MCpatcher here http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1496369-13w48b-172-164-and-earlierupdate-1116-mcpatcher-hd-fix-430/
Run it and you will see a window with various options, make sure in the top right option you have the correct version selected 1.7.2 for example.
Click on PATCH at the bottom and let it do its thing for a few seconds. Close MCpatcher
Open Minecraft launcher and in the profiles list select 1.7.2Mcpatcher click play and you have Chroma Hills in full and enhanced
Very simple takes around 1-2 mins to do .
Thanks, thats great to hear do come back and tell as how you get on
