Ah the tiling issue on the brick is on the list, i'll fix that tonight actually
Will send you new planks/torch etc
Thanks so much for looking at the CTM files, i've tried them on mine but alas Optifine doesn't support that type of CTM
Looks really good!
Ah the purple issue is not to do with lightmaps, they are fine as you can see from my screen shots G. It is a know bug with some video cards or bad installation of shaders. Make sure you have Antroscopic turned off, and anti aliasing in Optifine, also make sure you install shaders AFTER optifine. Make sure custom Colours is ON, Chunk loading DEFAULT.
Also try reinstalling with 1.3.1 JAR as this will probably do the trick. Always use a totally fresh JAR with no mods
Ah, I was using MCPatcher to use the planks and just figured your recent addition of the custom lightmap would be the reason, but I wasn't using Optifine at all. I never use mods and I got my new graphics card quite recently, so it would be my lack of installing anything for the shaders. Also, I tried getting the SEUS mod to work recently, but Optifine is more complex than MCPatcher, and actually gives me a lower FPS than MCPatcher. I realize that it has a feature that increases FPS, but I don't appear to receive that benefit, even with all settings set to give me the fastest results. I'll try reinstalling it to use your SEUS file, but I don't think the shaders are anything I would be able to keep for an extended period of time until I get a new computer. I intend to get one soon.

Ah i see G. Once you have the rich colours and shadows its really hard to go back to vanilla.......just praying new optifine realease will add more CTM options. New computer yes ahhh MORE power
Right, new and improved bricks with a richer colour and pale mortar and that bottom tiling issue fixed.

That brick looks really nice now. The colour really matches the warmth of the rest of the pack and it looks really clean. The wide bricks look nicer than the typical bricks in my opinion.
I appreciate you posting that, it make me feel like working on my pack... But I kinda want to make brick, and I already have a brick texture... Oh well. More for the customizer.

Really love the brick. It actually makes me a little mad how good your stuff is! lol
Thanks Glad you like it. I've been playing with digital art a long time but what's actually really exciting for me is seeing some of the very young talent on this forum who already are displaying some great skills and understanding of this art form. Imagine what they they will be like when they start hitting my age!
CornerG for example is only 15 but i would have never of guessed as his skill and ability to critique are IMO beyond his years and others like him on here also. From other conversations I've had/seen on here this place is a hot bed of some very young talent which whether they choose to take this with them into a future career of just keep it as hobby i wish them all the best.
On a personal level i'm pleased my work has been received with such positivity, i'm having a ball doing it and that i still can produce something i'm happy with after downing tools for so long.

Yes i feel they belong more with the pack and i think you and moo picked up on the tiling right back at the start!......... i'm a little slow to react in my old age lol......just kidding i forgot.......crap memory issues.......ummm what was i doing
Anyways, bricks done! On to something else..........mossy cobble i've been putting off hmmmm.
I know what you mean I've been doing graphics since I was 12 I'm now 31 so it is interesting seeing people that are now 12 (or around there) doing what I used to do and at such a higher level. It is definitely inspiring and pushes me to be even better.

Agreed very much so inspiring......... I've still got a few years on your good self 37
Okay, couple of new blocks done tonight I've gone for quite a complex chiseled stone, for those temple builds but still blends well with the other stone work blocks i.e castle builds and I've got the mossy cobble done also. I've half blocked the pattern so when slabs are added it doesn't cut the design in half.
That chiseled stone brick is amazing but the darkest patch of it seems slightly to dark IMO. Can't find any faults with the Mossy Cobblestone though
I would use this, but alas my internet cannot handle downloads of this size
Thanks, great to hear you would use it if you could I've lightened the dark recessed areas a little is that what you meant? Also here's the blocks in a more castle type build to show how they work with the stone brick, which i also now have lessened the darkness between the cracks it was little harsh before.
I'll send you over some updates Bricks look much better in game now.
Won't be on the pack for the next few days as will be visiting parents.
Merry Xmas All!
Last update for now been playing with the artwork file, trying out a few things.
Your pack is coming out awesome I really love what you are doing. Question about your screenshots. Do you set up an area for what you want to show? Things seem to be so perfect for what you are showing and I was just curious
Happy Holidays to you as well have fun at your parents!

Thanks, we dont leave till tomorrow and i'm stilling playing with textures at the moment even though its 2 am here! Do you mean how do I display the textures when i show a update? I do like to show the textures in a small setting so people can see how they flow with the rest of the pack. Sometimes I will build a quick small scene or I will look for an area of a map, say KAB'S test map and change a few things or add to it. I used one of Kab's houses tonight for example and plastered the front with paintings, although in the image below you will see i built a large wall for paintings but thought it looked a bit dull. I have a map that i'm building that doesn't have any massive builds but lots of little builds like small film sets.

As you can see, hope that answers your query
Thanks that helps its like staging. Very well done! =)
Ahhhgh, cant sleep so started some Animation on the Soul sand.
Still got quite a way to go but its looking quite creepy with some movement. Will probably get a bit of motion into the eyes as well after doing all the mouths.
Hey sorry for no replies, went away for the weekend, back now though.
Firstly, I wanted to say those bricks are perfect. Leagues better than the old ones. Think you could send me over the updates?
As for the chiseled bricks, they are great. I agree that the darker bits needed to be lightened, but you got to that so I have nothing more to offer without looking at them in game.
Lastly, OMG ART! I'm glad you finally got some up, they are looking good so far. Although, personally I don't think the grey-scale ones fit in with the theme of the pack. Everything else in the screenshot is vibrant and colorful, so greyscale just doesn't seem to fit. Not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way though. Can't wait to see some of the bigger paintings
Another thing, I think I have found an issue with the trapdoors. I'm not sure if it's the same in all textures packs, so I'm going to look more into it and try to get some screenshots, etc. if necessary
Okay so an update on the trapdoors. I made some screenshots to help show, but basically the problem is with the handle and the hinges. For whatever reason, when the trapdoor is lowered or raised, the rotation of the texture changes. I'm not sure why this happens, it could be a Minecraft thing, but it's not ideal.
Have a look at the screenshots. Basically, I think the handle and hinges might have to be removed from the texture. Also, as someone else already suggested, 'windows' in it, like the default texture has, would be nice

CHROMA:
EDIT: I had a look at it, it is evident in Sphax also, so it appears to be something Minecraft does to the textures.

it renders in the opposite direction so it is only noticeable when the pattern on it isn't an even one or has a handle

Yeah, which unfortunately this one has.
Also, SJS, what's your plan for wool? Is it at the stage that you are content? Because it obviously has some tiling issues, but also, black wool should be much blacker using it now to make a TV, and its like grey -.-

I like it definite start they kind of look like they are laughing you could (just an idea) make the eyes red and the faces look a bit more crazy and then it fits perfectly as is =)

Hey Alex, great to hear pretty much all positive on the recent updates
Glad you like the art i can always put more colour so noted on that one.
I'm just getting the updates ready to send to the testers before i set off, but i'm taking my tablet with me so i will be checking in.

Wool, i will look at it should tile as there's an edge around it but i'll check, and colours well they can be tweaked. Are you using shaders as they will be quite bright? I was thinking of putting a wooden frame round wool as container and to enhance buildings...... what do people think to that?

Yeah, its only 4 frames at the mo lots more to do, i will make more frames and slow it down so its more drawn out and not like a laugh. If it doesn't work i'll just keep it static but Corner laid down the challenge so i thought i'd give it a try.

Retired StaffI do feel like the flame animation is a little too fast, though.
I'm continuing to explore the pack as I build more things
