I still get the black color even with Custom Colors off. This is was with a previous version of Forge and the most updated version, both using the most updated version of Optifine (the version that can now be put into the mods folder).
Did you try using that grass.png i put above? I can't find any black on mine if using that as yet.
Thanks and it did work. So would I need to copy that same png into the updated pack or dies it already have it, or do I need to do it regardless? Also... I see that golden pickaxe you haven't touched yet, heh.

All of the sudden, Chroma Hills refuses to work... this is what happens when I try to get on a server or load a world. Note, this is not the first time this has happened. This has happened at least ten times beforehand:
Very tired of this happening. Only happens when I try to use this pack. I tried loading the pack after I connected (fail), tried using the 64x64 version (fail), and tried updating Forge to a more recent version (fail). Optifine is already at its most recent version.
Hmm that's odd but it wont be the pack itself. Texture packs can't break Minecraft but they can have issues with mods or issues shown when not enough ram is allocated.
I would strip out all you mods and run it to see if the same issue happens, something is causing it. The 128x pack is becoming larger as i update it so Ram also needs to be sufficient. Runs with no issues on the Ch server and various mods with as little as 1 gig allocated in magic launcher, i usually have it set to 3gig but test it much lower also. My 64x pack is big than most on resource use as i use higher resolution mobs, gui, items so its a hybrid really between 128x and 64x.
Sorry your getting tired of it. I haven't tested the pack with that many mods but it works 100% on its own and with mods that i run here. I've not heard back from people who use it with a lot more mods than i do as yet but if something is conflicting with it, it would need to be singled out and looked into. That image looks like RAM issues (although i struggle to tell whats a mod and whats a texture error) or a mod not allowing a larger resolution pack to load in all its textures correctly at a guess. I get the feeling you are running many mods but i could be wrong?
You could re download to double check corrupted pack zips were not the cause, I've been doing a lot of updating to the packs sorting little fixes and this "may" of happened when you grabbed the packs.
That's all i can think of the packs are no different to any other but like some they have a bit more content in them

Anyone else feel free to chuck in your thoughts?
If I came off as ungrateful in my last post, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to sound like that. So here's another weird thing: I only got this error when trying to load Chroma Hills. Other texture (resource) packs work fine. And I never got this problem until Chroma Hills was updated and now that I think about it... my first occurrence of this mad glitching was when I updated Optifine to the newest version. Ya know, the one that can go into the mods folder now.
I know for sure that I didn't have this kind of glitching when I had around 20-ish mods installed. I now have around 40, but like I said earlier, this didn't start till I updated Optifine and Chroma Hills. If anyone has any ideas, throw 'em at me.
Note: When it glitches like that, moving around just makes it worse. Soon it turns into a distorted medley of inventory screens, chat screen, regular view and any HUDS (such as the Armor HUD or Rei's Minimap) becomes a blotched out mess. And then when I go back to Minecraft's home screen... oh god, it looks like a failed hacking attempt into the Matrix.
Ah i have not installed latest opti yet. I will try it tomorrow. Use the version before it and see how you get on.
Just tried Chroma Hills again with only Forge installed and no glitchiness. Added Optifine and everything is still stable. If it is a RAM issue, it's the first time it has ever occurred for me. I'm kinda hoping there's a solution to it cause I've grown quite attached to Chroma Hills and I'd hate to not be able to use it because of this. =/
Great news to hear that gamerlass made it on the server! I'm also excited to see your 1.7 textures, namely podzol...It's hard for me to envision podzol in a Chroma Hills texture so I'm anxious to see what you do

Hmm well that's good, i guess now you need to add each mod and see if the glitch appears, also keep an eye on your allocated ram top left F3

Well i'm looking forward to what she brings to the server build wise so thanks for passing on her details Def
I have some ideas for podzol my friend........lemme catch up to 1.7 first though!
Also folks Def released his latest lets play using the new update and congrats to your growing channel Def you can see in the video just how much it means to you
I haven't gone through many mods yet but something I have noticed is that crossing dimensions increases my allocated memory. Currently, I have Twilight Forest and Mystcraft installed. I have yet to try Mystcraft at all cause I'm not 100% sure how completely delete other dimension so that it is as if they never exist vs throwing the book in lava or something.
But after going to the Nether, coming back and then going to the Twilight Forest, my allocated memory has jumped from a steady 50% to 100% from just crossing dimensions, Mystcraft not included cause I haven't messed with that mod yet. Maybe all the chunk updating did it cause I left the game and returned and my memory was back as 50%.
But if that were the case... how is it that Chroma Hills starts going crazy the moment load a world or go to a server? For a while, I thought it was the Aether II engine on server that was increasing my used memory (had not tested it yet), but since it happened offline as well, I'm not sure.
I have switched to the Faithful resource pack for the time being and I have yet to have any of that weird glitching out. A few of my mods are decoration based and a few more actually add 'stuff'. Here's the list:
Damage Indicators
Rei's Minimap
Optifine
Biomes O' Plenty
Natura
Tinker's Construct
Twilight Forest
Dragon Mount
Carpenter's Blocks
Chisel
Craft Heraldy
Bibliocraft
Bibliowoods (BoP & Natura edition)
Doggy Talents
NEI
Iron Chests
Barrels
Railcraft
Forestry
Mystcraft
Environment & Presence (they are two mods actually, that add better footstep sounds and environment noise)
Hats & Hat Stands
Extra Bees/Trees
Update: I'm starting to wonder if BoP and Natura are increasing my allocated memory because there is more terrain to generate then without them installed. BoP and Natura adds world generation to the Overworld and the Nether, though BoP adds way more than Natura. And now that I start to remember... Tinker's Construct, Forestry, Railcraft and Mystcraft (I think) also add world generation. Minimal at best but BoP is a real "game changer" so to speak. I don't have chunk loaders of any kind anywhere in my test world. I do hope that none of these are causing the issue but I'll keep looking.
Also, I'm wondering if the Environment & Presence noise additions are conflicting with Chroma Hills, since it's a resource pack now. Every now and then, my game will crash when switching resource packs mid game. The most common instance of crashes game from switching from any other resource pack to Chroma Hills and only Chroma Hills. But the crash reports I get suggest that it was a sound issue rather that a texture issue (not that I know what that would even register as in a crash report), but it's a thought. And I can definitely say that I had no issues with Chroma Hills before before ever installing Environment & Presence. That includes switching resource packs mid game.

Hmm, well your are being thorough in your diagnosing of the problem so hopefully something will click soon as to what the culprit/s is and we can look into ways/means to find a solution. I Run BOP fine with CH i also run presence and matmos and have seen no crashes. I don't run a lot of the other mods you use though so your research is important to pin point others that may cause a conflict with a pack containing a larger amount of resources in a high resolution. Although you said that my hybrid 64x also had the same issue.

Thanks so much, yes i am being told by a lot of people to support Hexxit! Its on the list
No a massive amount done recently folks, some minor tweaks after the 1.6 release.
Question, are there many people still sticking with CH for 1.5??
Hmmm, wondering if i need to get the update out for 1.5 of just focus on 1.6 now that would make life easier
