The nether bricks are too... pink in my opinion, but maybe it's the shaders.
Nice work on the swords and the apples too. Looking forward to the next update!
Thanks Yes the shader has pinked it up a little but i will work to a more dark red.
Ok, could I have some feedback on my mud side texture please? I'm going for mud that's got wet then dried in the sun so its quite solid but you could still happily dig it up. Got the shadow on the grass hanging over finally as well.
I find that the mud on the side grass is a bit too different from the dirt, and on close observation looks a bit like the stone. I like the idea of grass utilizing more than just normal dirt, but I find ther, rather than merging into more eroded dirt, it seems like there is something placed on top of it, since it is too defferent from the dirt below. Just an idea, but to get that effect, I would gradually remove a bit of the noise towards the top to make the soild near the top look richer, then remove a few of the pebbles towards the top. It would be smoother and look more like soild below grass. But that's just my idea, and you may be going somewhere entirely different with that.
Looking back, the food and swords look great! If anything, I think the leaf is a bit too light green on the apples. It looks very bright and lively while cut from the plant, so it should be a bit darker and possibly a slight bit brown or yellow.
The mud is different but that was really what i was for going for a bold transition rather than blending in, I've done (and seen) this in many game graphics before and i think adding this layer have really pushed the stylized theme i was reaching for. When you see it in a more full surrounding like below its the vision i think that's been floating around my brain. Really pleasant and detailed yet a hint of bold cartooness. I tried blending in to the below dirt, it looked more like the photo real packs which i don't want this to be.
Glad you like the items, yep the green is bothering me also.
Also, I've softened the mud layer, took some of the hard (stone like) edges/highlights away........ does that make it fit better for you? even though its still bold. I can of course have the simple style grass side as a alt texture in the release
The new cobble has also transformed the feel, i actually really am so pleased with it........
Now that I understand where you're going with it, the mud looks nice, and better like that in the terrain. Did you change the grass on the sidegrass texture as well? It looks a bit longer and a bit different... But not in a bad way, if you did change it then it looks better, if you didn't then it looks nice with the mud.

I did tweak the grass a bit and the shadow behind it pushes it out from the mud/dirt side now.
Not been able to do too much this weekend but i have had enough time to do the Diamond sword tonight.
what do we think, works ok? Does seem the pack is becoming more RPG with the design i'm now working into it and with a common themed enemy which for now will be dubbed the "Horde" fantasy style weapons etc........ RPG it is

That diamond sword looks awesome
My one complaint about the sidegrass mud is that it doesn't blend well with the rest of the texture, the dirt looks kind of flat in comparison.

Yeah i know what you mean about the mud at the same time i do want it to be different to the dirt below like another layer on top, still may tweak it a little.
Ok i wanted to get another terrain block done and decided to do the Bedrock. The aim is to make it look really tough/strong and quite foreboding seeing as its a indestructible block usually and obviously found in the depths of the world. Does it need to be blacker? Shaders have lightened it as per usual.
Its pretty good as a more moody building material actually.
That diamond sword looks great! I like how it looks like a dangerous sword but still looks like natural diamond. The little diamond decoration on the handguard looks nice too.
The bedrock looks nice and has that strong indestructible feel, I can't compare the two in game, but I think it may look a bit too much like gravel. I can't be sure right now though.

Good to hear the diamond sword has gone down well.
The gravel is quite old now and it will be redone at somepoint, side by side they do look quite different....i'll put up a pic.
I'm looking forward to obsidian, or do you have it already? Ah. I wish you would be done already. *laughs* On my server, we're two people now waiting for this to be finished so we could use it.
I do have a texture that I've used for obsidian but i also made it red to see how it worked for netherrack. I'll put some pics up later on.
I can add a bit of blue to the Bedrock see how it looks.
Great to hear on using it for your server. I'm thinking i will release the terrain to a few more beta testers while i work on it so watch this space.
This pack looks crazy and I can't wait until it's finished it will most likely be laughing at Sphax while it's in the same texture pack folder.
Good luck finishing!
PS: Do you feel at all you would support tekkit?
I don't blame you if you don't it's A LOT of work making tekkit textures...

I have a really cool sig but it's 50 pixels larger than the limit!
Come on MineCraft Forum!
I'm watching every day, actually! I'd love to be a tester too, you'd get all possible screenshots of stuff that I build and maybe some artistic input.
I'm no good at making textures, though... just a plain old painter type of artist.
Sorry, not been able to get on the pack over the last few days will have something new to show soon.
Oh thats great, sounds a plan Okay well there isnt enough terrain yet for a open release but those interested in a small closed alpha group let me know maybe another 4-5 people. I'll be looking at general feedback but also looking at those running without shaders to give feedback on what textures need adjusting as the shaders give a brighter/more saturated look so will need to create a enhanced colour pack for non shader.
People who would like to test, i would ideally be looking at those who are able to give some of their time to test and give feedback as it progresses not just grab the terrrain file and dissapear
Would also like to give a big thanks to Corner and Moo who have given up a lot of their time but i know are also very busy with their lives and own pack development.

Great that you like it I'm a big fan of Sphax but wanted to go more detailed with a really pleasing look still.
I have EVERY plan to support Tekkit but it will be a good while still so much to do, especially with mobs.
Got back on to the terrain tonight couldn't decide what to get on with then decided Mmmmm CAKE
On the menu we have a Strawberry and Blueberry gateau with thick white icing, and fresh piped cream centre with a rich chocolate sponge.
Seriously this is the best minecraft cake I ever saw.
Regarding testing: I run the game without shaders or mods. I play on a survival server mostly, we build stuff there. I mine a lot and explore, so you can expect lots of screenshots from various situations and very different block combinations.
I also paint stuffand maybe can be of a little help..
Ah glad you like the Cake
Right well you better message me over a email address then, so i can send files love to have you on board as a tester.
Just been having a look over your paintings.........there's some very nice work there and i can see your understanding for colour, light/shadow etc. Really like the fur work on the Bear and the quick sketch Fox again has great use of colour/tone. I see you like your dragons its been a long time since i picked up a paint brush!
I like the cake, though the shading on the strawberries is kinda unnatural with the light coming from different angles. I know it´s because you made only one strawberry and rotated/mirrored it several times, but I think it would be worth to do the shading for each of them individually. And you should do the same with the blueberries too after you rotated them as well you lazy bugger! ^^
ha ha okay, i'll fix it, they have a highlight from the same light source but the shadowing is a bit lazy
Where you been stranger? I sent you weapons and did you spot the Diamond sword, Bedrock etc.
Oh yes, I saw those things but forgot to comment because there isn´t much to criticize about them. The bedrock looks really indestructible and the weapons are all very well done so far with your own style.
I´m pretty busy at the moment and that´s not going to change until next year, so you made a good decision allowing more people to test your textures.
Ah glad the weapons are to your liking Moo, and yes could see you were getting more busy if you want an updated terrain at anytime just let me know.
Got the Jack o lantern done today and tried something a bit different with wearing a pumpkin on your head Remember the SEUS shaders make any light source object much brighter so the texture is darker when you look at it on the terrain file.
What do people think of the Pumpkin blur...... has this look already been done?
I love the cake, but I would've given the same advice as Moo.
The Jack'o'lantern is really good looking, and I like how the torch is visible in it. I just think that it may need to be a bit brighter in there so it has less contrast and stands out less inside the pumpkin.
The pumpkin helmet overlay is really creative, and looks great! I like how the overlay is partially transparent so you get both the benefit of being able to look at endermen and having a cool pumpkin overlay without losing too much visibility.
That cauldron is really nice and the fine detail on the side really adds to the fancy style, and the little creeper face strikes again, still looking great. My only criticism is that those dents, or whatever you want to call them, on the side seem a bit out of place with the rest of it being shiny and fancy. Though you nailed the actual "texture" on the empty space.
Looking great! The pack is really coming along, I can't imagine the popularity this will get when it's released. I've seen good SD packs get some popularity, and I've seen realistic HD packs made by people otherwise unheard of here, but those are generally realistic to an extent that it just looks bad. This however has a very slight touch of cartoon creativity, and has things like that creeper face detail that overly realistic packs wouldn't do.

I will take a look at the torch inside the pumpkin see what you are saying make it a little more so the light source has more effect, it does look different without the shader also.
Glad you like the pumpkin blur, again just trying things out that i hope haven't been done in the way i implement them, which with so many packs is a tough one!
Yep, the creeper is going to pop up quite a bit Gives a little identity to things and instantly recognizable by all. Yeah went something different texture wise on the cauldron than smooth i think it makes a "interesting" object.
Thanks again for the such positive views of the pack Corner its progressing at a fairly steady rate and i'm pretty much happy that quality is staying fairly consistent (which can be tough. I had a quick play with some Tekkit blocks (not posting anything) just for a laugh and can see a lot fun coming up with those!
Well I've got onto something else tonight which is the Enchantment table, not looked at the book yet but style wise i think the table is quite fitting. Have a more purple y Obsidian now also. what we do we think?
Ah i see you have had a good a look at the terrain i sent you, hope you're still as enthusiastic about it and of course its all very much work in progress
Quick run down.
Stone will be less mono, i have another texture but not updated as it needs all the ores down etc.
Again stone bricks will have more work done on them.
Sand i like the style, but will look too contrasted/pale without shaders till its adjusted.
Planks, temp re colours for now.
Nether bricks wont be used it was an old test texture, its now been changed for a purple Obsidian as per Enchantment table texture. Will come up with something new for Nether.
Glass, like the lattice but can see issue if used in bulk. CTM probably of some sort.
Ladders/torches were done back at the start, and will need working into.
Great to have more in depth feedback it all helps.
A lot of the issues picked up will be down to contrast/colour etc and will be down to the fact i will have to edit another terrain file that will run with no shaders. For example the glow stone emits a nice bright light with shaders but not without and of course some textures still need working into here and there or a bit of tweaking and I have got through a lot blocks in a fairly short space of time so some will need a revisit...........and some i will be stubborn and say i like it like that
I hope what you have seen so far is still exciting you!
Thanks
