*drools* Hot tomale those look so good! I've been using the 1.5 rakepack resources with 1.7 minecraft for the longest time and boy am I excited for this release! You're textures are just so much more detailed while retaining the 8 bit look of Minecraft, and don't get me started on the ore blocks oh man those have always needed separate textures.
For first impressions on those textures... Oh LAWDY the diamonds are amazing, the diamond sword oh god the axe too squweuiweiw. omg all the food is so compact and is that STEAK oh yes so much yes. The apples are so cute, omg the cookies. IT'S ALL GREAT. Your style is just so much better than the plain shapes and shades[or lack of] of vanilla mc. 10/10 can't wait man.
I am working on it, honestly I am! Here's what the item textures look like currently:
Everything is subject to change, and I'm considering releasing two versions or something: one more different from the default than the other, since it all seems to be getting more and more that way.
It's good to see you have not abandoned this pack. I really appreciate how your textures still look similar to default just tweaked to look different. Don't forget to update this on Planet Minecraft.
This pack could be used as an example of why Mojang needs to get someone an actual artist to re-do a lot of the icons. Many of them are so ugly and poorly done.
After using the new textures for a week I've a few little nitpickings to put out there. They're incredibly well done and much better than default imo, these are just some things that bug me.
The diamond sword is too noisy. Too much white makes it look a lil too cluttered in your hands. The sprite, however, is beautiful. Diamond axes look a little clunky as well. The entire sprite doesn't display when you hold it in your hand, making it look like a ribbon or hammer.
Gold blocks don't match gold items. Vanilla gold blocks are a tad too bright yellow to match rakepack's much darker hue. On top of that, the gold nuggets aren't easily recognizable as gold nuggets. They look too "baked", I thought they were potatoes at first. While a dark, rugged colouring for them is realistic it's a little too dark for the small sprite.
And finally, lime dye looks yellowish. I think this is honestly just me, but it does look pretty off coloured when next to the lime wool block.
I'll try to address your other concerns and post the edited sprites here for opinions before I update the pack, but as far as the last one goes: the dye probably looks yellowish because it's dandelion yellow, not lime.
I think I need to work on all the dyes more anyway, though.
I take back what I said about the diamond swords, they've really grown on me. They look so badass in your hands, like a massive broadsword of crystalline justice! Thanks again for the amazing texture pack!

<Demisedulous>Dude this is Minecraft, can't we all just be autistic together
This needs to be revived. It's way too good to just get abandoned or slowed down massively due to a bit of laziness... at least try release 1 version with all textures done before getting lazy...

This pack, though I just found it, Looks amazing!
I love the item textures and shadow and depth that has been given despite very low pixel count to attain such feats. I have taken the item png you uploaded in february and pulled them all out and into something that is playable in 1.8!
Wish there was a more up to date version of this pack, Hope it hasn't died (though February was long ago)
At the moment I don't have a computer that can play Minecraft, so I'm unable to take nice screenshots to show it off. I'm not going to bother updating the first post until I can do that, but for anyone that checks this thread, here's a download link to what's hopefully a 1.8-ready version, and here's what the item textures currently look like (although ignore the mob heads, since their inventory icons are generated like normal blocks' are now):

Umm... I'm planning to make a mod, not sure if I'll continue it though. If I were to continue on with this plan, can I use your textures as an add-on, or even possibly the base textures?
This is now my new favorite texture pack. It's for 1.7.10 too, right? Otherwise, I can't use it.

Now look, buddy. I'm an Engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like 'what is beauty', because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems. Like, how am I going to stop some big, mean mother-hubbard from tearing me a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer: Use a gun. And if that don't work: Use more gun. Like this heavy-caliber, tripod-mounted little ol' number designed by me. Built by me. And you'd best hope, not pointed at you.
It has been more than two years since I originally saw this texture pack, and for the first time, I can actually have an updated version of it! I still love it!

Whenever i put the updated 1.8 thing in my rescourse pack folder, it does not work...
