I see no problem with you making a Pocket Edition release but I would say that as the other thread made a version first then it may be prudent to contact them and maybe work together as a team.
John Smith Legacy 1.8.9 v1.3.26, JSC v1.1.26 and snapshot 16w05b, some quality improvements and a total rework for the Cobblestone Stairs, they now look much better when going around corners and also better colour match and Stone Slabs.
Hello there guys! I was just wondering if anyone know of any Patches to JSTR that add decorative versions of for example colored clay, like the conquest pack.
I know Jamziboy had his own edit with wool, but if there's a more developed patch it would be great to know where I could download it
Here we go; Minecraft 1.9.0 is out and is now the current release in the launcher.
Over the last month or so I've been going through the pack, cleaning up, making lots of consistency and quality improvements.
I decided to add some custom models without them standing out too much and being too obvious in the game, things like the Ladder now has some depth, Trapdoors and Doors now have edges too, more to come in the future.
Some hand held items were rendered using flat 2D sprites but have internal 3D models when placed on the ground, so why not use the model that already exists in the game, so items like the Brewing Stand, Cauldron, Comparator, Flower Pot, Hopper, Repeater and Tripwire Hook now all use the 3D models when held in the hand, on your head, on the ground or in your inventory.
There've been hundreds of changes to the pack to make it compatible with 1.9.0 and lots of tweaks and additions, see the full changelog for all the details and go play some Minecraft.
PS: If you still play on 1.8.9, I've backported almost all the texture features that 1.9.0 supports apart from some of the item 3D models.
The issue with the font is the spacing in the ascii.properties file. I increased mine by 0.75 across the board and it worked fine. I have switched to the BetterFonts mod to allow ttf files but it does not as yet make hi-res files like those in texture packs.
Blood Magic is off to a good start. I had to restore the colors from the original runes in order to distinguish them, though. Pneumaticraft, Witchery, and Botania are modpack material and someone will need to work those mods in at some point. Thaumcraft seems to be in WIP limbo, especially with the addons.
I've been doing some updates for my own pack, including Forbidden Magic (partial), Enchanting Plus, and IC2 Combo Armors and expanding Thaumcraft and Forestry. I'll add my changes to the ascii.properties when I get the time to push them.
I can't do JS quality pixel art on my own and usually adapt existing material to expand packs. That skill does go a long way but eventually hits a wall. I tried the Pneumaticraft plants but they came out Faithful rather than JS. I can raytrace with POV-Ray in a pinch but the style likely won't match JS.
I just checked and the 1.7.10 version of John Smith Legacy doesn't have an ascii.properties file. Where did you find that file?

The text display issue was sorted out in the vanilla a while ago, it's all about the glyph_sizes.bin that I added last year, see the post a few pages back for the details (ascii.properties is no longer needed).
Don't forget to load the Resource Pack, exit Minecraft, restart the game so the glyph_sizes.bin is loaded as reloading the Resource Pack does not load the glyph_sizes.bin, only restarting the game loads that file, it's a known Minecraft bug.

On another note I've released the next update for John Smith Legacy (for Minecraft 1.8.9 and 1.9.1, compatible with 1.9.0).
More 3D models, CTM, Custom Colours, Better Skies and all now tested with OptiFine.
John Smith Legacy 1.8.9 v1.3.28
John Smith Legacy 1.9.1 v1.4.1
John Smith Legacy JSC v1.1.28
John Smith Legacy JSC v1.2.1
So, will this fix the problems in the Agricraft Agricultural Journal?

With the mods I tested all the text displayed correctly, I haven't use that particular mod but I don't see why not.
The glyph_sizes.bin file is just a binary file containing the font spacings, if you play the game without that file or the resource pack without restarting the game, the game will use the default glyph_sizes.bin which is for the default 16px fixed width font.
The John Smith font is not a fixed width font (Kerning) and will not display correctly otherwise.

So, if I redownload it, add it to the resource packs folder, and then restart the game, it'll work better?

You have to select the resource pack so it's using it, exit Minecraft completely, restart and it should all work, I know it's a pain due to the longer loading times on the modded game.

Ok, I'll try now. Does the patch sometimes screw things up? I'm using the Technician's Remix patch that reverts modded ores, dirt, gravel and sand to their normal John Smith Legacy textures.
Edit: Nope, apparently it's still kinda glitched. Here's a screenshot of what Materials and You p1 looks like:

As long as the Patch pack is above the JSL pack in the select resource pack screen the ores should display fine in the game
I still get the glitches in the books however. Refer to the screenshot I attached.

Download the vanilla pack on the site below and see if the fonts work, if they do you will have to open the zip for the universal pack and remove the minecraft directory and replace it with the latest version, the version in the Universal pack is a little out of date (John Smith Legacy 1.7.10 v1.2.22, latest release is John Smith Legacy 1.7.10 v1.2.24).
JSTR_Universal_1.7.x - v0.1.17\assets\minecraft
Sorry I can't make the easier as I don't look after the modded game, only vanilla.

Ok, it's just that I'm using the latest version on the JSTR download page, which is the October 16 2015 version. I'll try exchanging the minecraft folder in the JSTR with the vanilla version and see if that works.
Edit: It works for the TiCon books, but the text in Agricraft's Agricultural Journal is way too small and impossible to read.

Under the Language menu, try the Force Unicode Font: ON to see if that makes any difference, if not I'm not sure what to do.
Yeah, sorry, no differences noticed. Might want to talk with the dev of Agricraft to see if they can use Minecraft's default font for that book, which would make it easier to switch it over to your font.

There's already a port of John Smith Legacy for the Minecraft Pocket Edition.

Yeah.. But that port is actually for an older version of the game, so i want to update it to the newest version which is 0.13.1
