YES, please remove gloves. I actually removed them myself. Although I don't think pants are an issue since the top and bottom can be covered with chestplate and boots.

Hi JimStoneCraft,
I'm working on a nearly-complete port of JS 32x texture pack for pocket edition (android). It's looking great. I'd like to ask for official 'permission' to post it on the MCPE board here (with full credits linking back to the original thread). Let me know if that's okay. Right now it's just for personal use but per forum rules I have to ask you first before I share.

While I have no interest in other versions of Minecraft I know others do and it's good to see others port the pack, so go for it and good luck.
Just wanted to post an update now that we have downloads for the 64x packs on the website. Myself and TitaN65 have been hard at work creating textures for these packs. But please do understand that these packs are still a long way off completion. So it’s recommended to be applied over top of one of the original 32x packs.
Currently there are two packs in progress. The first one is JS:legacy 64x which is an up-scale of the original graphics of John Smith Legacy. The second is JS:Light 64x which is an up-scale of the graphics from the base of the modded pack John Smith Technician's Remix.
As of right now 109 out of 349 block textures and 153 out of 216 item textures have been completed, so there's still lots of work to do. If anyone would like to help by making textures that would be fantastic and would help speed up progress. Textures can be submitted on our git, if you can't work it out how to use github, just post here and someone will help you out.
I'll try to post updates about the pack at major milestones to keep people updated.
I don't quite understand as to why my connected textures won't work. I have optifine, my connected textures are enabled (as fancy) but they don't work. What's really bugging me to hell and back is when I switch to the default texture pack somehow to freakin connected textures start working again. Can anyone help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for the permission. I've posted the ported pack for MCPE (android). It's working quite well and now mobile/tablet players like myself can enjoy. Here's the link if you want to check it out.

John Smith Legacy 1.7.5 v1.2.13 was the last version of the pack to use the block ID's, the pack was converted to use block names after that.
Optifine still uses block ID's which are going away (gone in 1.8 pre 1 that was just released).
In 1.7, blocks are referred to by name rather than number. Numerical IDs are supported for older blocks, but newer blocks will be name only and for 1.8 the game will only work with names.
Stone blocks for example can be referred to as:-
1 (not recommended)
minecraft:stone (full name)
stone (name without prefix)
So no CTM will no longer work until Optifine updates to the new names format for blocks or you could copy the CTM from the last pack to use ID's (John Smith Legacy 1.7.5 v1.2.13), this will work for the most part with Optifine but you will miss out on quite a few updates.
Well after a few days of updating for the Minecraft 1.8 pre 1, I've managed to get all the fences working nicely with custom textures.
John Smith Legacy 1.8 v1.3.1 Resource Pack has now been release, still a lot to do but it's got most of the important stuff done.
The John Smith Legacy Resource Pack now has many custom textures for the Crafting Table, Bed, Furnace, Dropper, Dispenser and Daylight Sensor bottoms textures, all the Fences and Gates, random textures for many textures, all without any mods at all (mcpatcher or Optifine).
It's nice that all the work put in is now used by all the people using the 1.8 pack and not just some using a mod, I do miss better skies and connect textures but it's getting exciting again.
With Minecraft 1.8, it's like the gears have been greased, the game runs so smooth now even with all the extra models and textures.
You JimStone and many others who've helped in the JS pack deserve so much more than our gratitude. You guys keep on updating and improving this Texture Pack, so thanks for your hard work.
ow to submit your own textures:This requires moderate git/Github knowledge; if you need any help, feel free to contact us.
Fork this repository to your account.
Commit all of your textures to your forked repository.
Open a pull request from your repository to this one with a concise explanation of your changes.
When your pull request has been merged, delete your fork and refork.
I have no idea what it wants me to do. I don't see the links on the github. A nice easy non-generic tutorial would be great. I have TortoiseGit setup, though I'm not sure if I did it right.

I haven't used TortoiseGit before but it looks more confusing then the official client which I would recommend getting.
- First Fork the repo
- Then clone it inside your client
- Click on the cog in the top right and open click "open in explorer"
- Now you can add your textures to the pack
- Now back on your git client add a name to your uncommitted changes and then commit the changes
- Now click on Sync in the top right to upload your changes
- Then finally you can go to the master branch in your internet browser and you can create a pull request.
Been working on getting some more blocks done for JS:Light 64x, starting with the nether, I also had a crack at doing the zombie! My internet isn't letting me update the packs at the moment so I'll try again later tonight, but here they are.
Can you please texture the horses, it would be appreciated for my medieval map making.

It's just an empty directory so it does nothing in the game, both the standard pack and snapshot packs will be merged when 1.8 is closer to release.

Edit:
I'm having a problem with the font, it looks terrible and I'm assuming I've done something wrong.
