The issue with the white grass in the old texture pack is because of custom colors.
Either use a later version of the pack where this was fixed ({1.2.1}- 28th October 2013 - 1.7.2) or remove the number 2 from the line below in you color.properties file and it should sort it out (2 was the block ID for grass).
someone help please idk why but in the texture pack the text everywhere are just fat and skinny lines idk if its like my computer doesnt recongnize the text or what please help

Just out of curiosity is there any way I can make this the official texture pack of my server? By that I mean actually putting the download link into the server.properties file. It's nothing big, just a small public server for fans of my YouTube channel.

Yes you can make it your official texture pack for your server but you will have to host the resource pack files yourself.
I love this texture pack, but I am noticing some default Minecraft textures.
Which pack are you using? if you are using a modded pack then you will need to expect to see default textures, but the ratio of johnsmith to default is getting better and better as time goes on.
They have been post here a few times before and I will add them to the site at some point, but in the mean time here are the John Smith Alternate texture sheets.
I was thinking of unstitching them but decided against it as it's not that hard to cut out the images you need and it's good to see the overall alternates as one image but if there is demand I could do it in the future.
Where can I find the latest version of of the Technician's Remix for 1.7.10? On the site it say version 1.6 but has been since I last downloaded it weeks back. Is there another updated link that carries the latest textures for all the different mods or is this the only link and I have to wait until it updates to version 1.7?
I really love this pack, is the only one that I can play Minecraft on.
Vanilla Minecraft is slowly adopting lots of features that you used to have to hack to get working like, HD Fonts, HD Textures, Random Textures, Custom Sounds and much more.
Yes the JSON files are used in a combination of Blockstates and Block Models, with this you can do quite a lot of things, I've worked on using it to make random textures and have been slowly moving all the mcpatcher style randon textures over to the Vanilla system.
I've also used them to add textures that were never in the game like, Bottom of the Bed, Crafting Table bottom, Daylight Detector bottom and many other bottom textures, buttons and more.
Some advantages are that they work in the latest version of the game with no need for the waiting time for mcpatcher to be updated.
So yes you will no longer need mcpatcher for random textures.
Some disadvantages with the Vanilla system that's not supported with the new Blockstates:-
Connected Textures, Better Skies, Better Grass, Random Mobs, Custom Colours and more, all the great stuff mcpatcher does.
So you would still need mcpatcher to get the best out of the pack, but mcpatcher proberly will not be updated until 1.8 actually comes out as so much of the game code has change, this may take some time.
But not needed mcpatcher for simple things like random textures means you will get quite a good portion of the custom pack features.
Hopefully Mojang will add the Entity Models so we can have random mobs (Cows, Sheep, Zombies etc...).

--Edit--
That worked perfectly, thanks for the help!
It can also mean - anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor, so it's build on the past work of John Smith.
Check the faq on the website.

Some of the snapshot files still need to be made like the Rabbit meat, Mutton, Guardian and Rabbit mobs but it's mostly there.

I want to fix EnderIO's gui but I'm new to git. Can I just upload it here?
Sorry no screen shots, mega busy at the moment.
Red Sandstone, crafted using Red Sand, I've based them on the normal sandstone at the moment, this may change in the future.
Also an Armorstand (item and entity) for showing off your Armour.
See the JSL site for Snapshot and Current Pack downloads.

You also need the blockstates directory or the game does not know what to do with the models and the textures in the blocks directory.
