I have a similar problem. Not on the main window though, but on the inventory. I can hardly distinguished dirt from gravel now. There's a blurred hint to all items in the inventory.
Meanwhile, on the main window, JSL still persists with some issues that I don't think will ever be fixed.
- Iron ore blends too much against stone. It may be visible on generated mimes after lit. But especially when strip mining it's very easy to miss it.
- The default wooden door has a too thick window frame and the customizer always takes forever to update, forcing me to manually edit the better door into the resource pack.
- This is the only resource pack I know which HD font NEVER works! I'm forced into the game default font, or to manually insert a better font from some other resource pack.
\With 1.7.2 and the blurriness thing, I just had enough after 3 years or something. I use another resource pack now.

I was trying to think of a signature and this is what came up.
I'm having a problem with this pack. I downloaded the latest version and the latest McPatcher, patched and loaded my world. But the textures are fuzzy and not sharp and clear like they usually are. It's like a low-res version of the texture pack. I tried looking through this thread to see if there was anyone else with this problem, and it looks like all the pictures people posted are how it is supposed to look.
That to me says I'm missing something really small and stupid. Can someone help me out?
It's best to list the version of Minecraft you are using, is it the latest release (1.7.2) or the snapshot (13w48b).
Also MCPatcher has a test release too. (mcpatcher-4.3.1-beta1)

The Iron Ore colour has been covered in the JSL forums, you could also try the smooth stone instead as it make the ores stand out more.
The wooden door is just personal taste, my version of the pack is different too, plus if you have edited it then post it here and it may be included in the pack or added to the customizer, this is a community effort after all.
I've tried the font on five different systems and they all work fine (patched with MCPatcher or not), try swapping the 128px version as it could be the 512px version is running out of texture ram.

Orange iron ore isn't my cup of tea. What iron needs is just an increase in contrast. To avoid changing the color of the background stone like in the Sattelence variation, it really just needs a slightly brighter tint to the iron nuggets in the wall. Because this is an animated block, I find it's a bit hard to edit myself such a large png file. I'm no graphics artist.

I've haven't personally edited it. I use the JSTR version of the door that I take from the customizer. But because the customizer takes a long time to get updated, I end up having to edit the resource pack manually to include it.

I didn't even know there was another version of the font. Or where to find it. But I'm indeed using a 128x replacement font I once took from another pack. Couldn't possibly remember which anymore. I just keep the font folder saved on my drive and use it to replace the font in the pack with every version.
That said, this being a 32x pack, I find it odd and disproportionate your choice to include a 512px font.

Packs can have any size textures now, the 128px version of the font is included in the pack, you just have to manually move and rename it into the font folder if you are having issues with the font.
The font is a major GUI which Minecraft scales, due to the way Minecraft cannot have Anti-aliasing (smooth edges) to their font, making it bigger was the only option.
I play at 2560x1440 on my 27inch monitor and the font still looks great, plus the 512px font made it easier to include all the extra European characters that have been added.
It would be much easier if Minecraft just supported True Type Font rather than a bitmap image, then the letter spacing would be better too.

I am going to have to stay off these forums, made an idiot out of me, there were two john smith packs in the resourcepacs folder that I had to get rid of first to get it working. It works fine now.
It's McPatcher 4.3.0 and Minecraft 1.7.2. I'm not sure what it looks like unpatched...how do you undo patching?
Nah, I think what you're experiencing is mip-mapping from Minecraft. Go to your in game video settings, and set Mip Mapping to OFF. It might freeze if you have a computer like mine once you exit back to the game, but the sharpness will return.
Does the new version of the pack have an updated colormap for leaves etc. for MCP?
I'm having problems with the font, well I have for awhile now. I got the font to work perfectly once, but that was back in like 1.4.7
I do have OptiFine installed, I'd try MCPatcher but I have no idea how to do it with Technic.

I recently found a couple texture snags in a couple items. Like the Bed and Door for example.
One side of the bed, the side textures are flipped: Normal Side
Flipped Side
For the Door, The opposite sides of the door do not line up. Hinge and knob ends are flipped. I made a little shack to show what I mean. I guess it also depends on how you like to place your door, but I would think the hinges and knobs would be aligned either inside or outside.
Outside: You can see the door is opening on the knob side of the door.
Inside: Door opens on the hinge side, like a normal door. but you can clearly see the outside of the door with the hinges pointing in.
I have re-downloaded the most recent JohnSmith pack to make sure that any new updates may have corrected it, but it seems to be unchanged. Can we get these textures corrected please?
That's the exact same problem I and many people have with the font and I have no idea why this wasn't ever dealt with. It's the only resource pack I'm aware that have these issues with the font. And you ask the pack mantainers and they'll tell you works fine for them.
Note that MCPatcher will have the same problem. This is a resource pack issue, not anything else.
Anyways, there's a few things that you can do.
1. Turn off HD font on either Optifine or MCPatcher. But this will be a problem if you use other resource packs where HD fonts work fine (which is ALL OF THEM!).
2. Read this post from JimStoneCraft and see of you find that 128px version of the font inside the resource pack. I haven't done this yet because I don't use this resource pack anymore. But it should be there and it hopefully will work for you.
3. Use a font from another resource pack. That's what I did back then. I just overwrote the JSL font folder with the font from another pack. Done deal.

This is a bug in the current version of Minecraft and isn't texturepack related, it will be fixed when 1.7.3 is released.

Could this be the issue with Optifine looking for the older names for the font spacing, maybe someone could rename the files to check, if this is the issue I could then just have two copies of the font in the same directory with the different names.

Curse PremiumBTW, is the font still in the textures/font folder? Should probably move it back to mcpatcher exclusively.
The font is in both folders, this makes the pack compatible with vanilla and also when patched using the HD font in MCPatcher.
I know the fonts were renamed in 1.6.4.
