This is what I get with 1.7.2 sans MCPatcher (no custom colors).
It's giving different results from either of the two images I posted above. It would seem like custom colors is in effect, yet producing different results from before? Does anyone have any ideas?
I didn't think the sky0.png was used so it was removed (no listing in the color.properties file) but it is used when it's in the directory.
This at least gets the sky colour back to the original blue.
Stick it in the directory listed below:-
assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/colormap/sky0.png
Comparing your two screen shots, apart from the flipped textures (a known Minecraft issue) the foreground textures look the same colours, it's only in the distance they change.
It looks to me to be the new Minecraft rendering engine, try adjusting your render distance, Mipmap and Anisotropic filtering as these can affect the colours at a distance.
The sky0.png has been added to the main download (v1.2.2) and I've also made the reeds back to default, see the Changelog for details.

It's not something dependent on distance. Some of the colors are just plain different.
I'm sorry to clutter the thread up, but here's more comparisons.

These settings are as comparable as can be across the two versions, and they aren't changing the results.
Mip-mapping is disabled (changing that only blurs the distant textures for me, but doesn't appear to change color grading or whatever).
You are using a 1.6 world in 1.7 right? 1.7 added and changed a lot to do with biomes. So the seeds are now different from before. Meaning your world could have areas that were once plains before and now desert. So the colour change in the texturepack is coming into affect as it would for a desert.
When you are in your colour affected areas in 1.6 is the biome the same as when in the same place in 1.7?
This world was originally generated in 1.2.5, but yes, it's a pre-1.7 world. I was under the presumption that prior generated terrain would not change (aside from existing taigas losing their snow status), so I never bothered to think of that. That's a good guess, but I just checked, and indeed all of my existing biomes are the same.
It really seems that custom colors is, for whatever reason, producing different results from before. It's still making a difference, but things are definitely different. There's no longer a blended transition between biomes (at least not in all cases, as one of my comparisons shows), and some biomes don't seem to have custom colors for some blocks. For those that do, they don't necessarily produce the same colors as before, even though they are different as if custom colors wasn't applied at all. The results are just totally different.
I'm not sure what's causing it though. This stuff is all beyond me, so I was hoping someone else who knows this stuff would see it and have some clues. I just noticed it right away, as the whole mood and feel was way off in some cases.
It looks like biome changes to me, or something similar. In the 1.6.4 image of the grass & leaves, there is s strip of grass one block wide along the near edge and top that is a different color from the rest of the blocks. The 1.7.2 image has all the grass blocks the same color. Either that's an image error or something changed to make just those blocks a different color within the same game version.
You could also use a tool like Biome Painter to check what the biomes are in each game version. Open your 1.6.4 version and compare it to the 1.7.2 version, I bet the biomes change. You can then use Biome Painter to change them back for your old areas of the world.
Did you save a backup of the world in it's 1.6.4 state? And only open that copy in 1.6.4? If it's not huge, you could upload it to mediafire or something and we could check it out, see what the deal is. I generally don't use the custom colors in the JS pack though, but any biome changes would be easy to detect.

The poster before you guessed that too, and that's not looking to be it. The biomes in the pictured areas at least are all showing up as the same biomes.
I am actually still actively playing in 1.6.4, so the world hasn't been touched by 1.7.2 yet. I only copy the world to my 1.7.2 saves folder to get the screenshots in the same spots.
Per the blending you refer to in the third screenshot, I think there's a "biome blending" feature of OptiFine you can disable to produce the same lack of blending. I'm not using OptiFine, nor am I sure if that's another, separate issue, or something else from the colors as a whole being off.
I got some more comparisons (sorry!), and these definitely show that something is up with the colors.

Notice how the jungle-exclusive colors are missing? the sky no longer has that Yellow-ish tint to it, and the water isn't Yellow-Brown-Green-ish either. The deeper Green of the grass that the jungle biome in the background compared to the paler Yellow-ish of the grass in the plains biome in the foreground is missing too (though I can't get the grass itself back to how it was before either, but a change of some sort should still be present). These biome-unique colors are from custom colors, right?
Custom colors is changing the colors compared to if custom colors wasn't on, but it's not doing it as it was before. That is the issue I am facing. The unique colors of the biomes are gone, and everything is the same regardless of biome.
Again, sorry if I'm cluttering this thread (it is a great texture pack), but with 1.7 being out for some weeks now, am I the first to mention this? Am I the only one even experiencing it? I tried starting new worlds in 1.7.2 and I am experiencing the same thing with the colors, so it's not something exclusive to that one world.

Interesting, yes, it looks like some of the biome specific colors are wrong/missing. I can't answer that as I don't run the custom colors and don't have much understanding of how they work.
There may also be something Minecraft itself is doing with colors / rendering that is causing some of it as well.

Yeah, this was big update that changed much of the coding, and the rendering is indeed change a lot. I'm still not sure if this is something that can be adjusted with the texture pack or MCPatcher, or if it's just Minecraft.
It seems related to the custom colors bit of things, though. Is this more appropriate in the MCPatcher thread?

i had a problem with the "custom colors" with mcpatcher. even when the john smith crew tried to fix the issue mcpatcher still kinda mucked up the colors. i just turn off the "feature"

there has a been a change in how biome grass/leaves are coloured in 1.7.2 vs 1.6.4 this could be the thing causing the issues for those related blocks

I love your texture pack, but there are some textures that I do not lik, mainly because they do not really correspond to those of vanilla minecraft, or because the textures are not very nice. Does someone could improve the following textures:
- all quartz blocks
- redstone block
- mycelium
- sandstone carved
- sandstone smooth
- stonebrick craked
- fern
- double fern
- dragon egg
- glass silver and white
- log spruce
- mushroom brown and red
- all planks
- tnt side
- wool colored silver and white
- glowstone
- red sand
- creeper
- witch

We currently have no intention of changing the textures you listed. If you don't like certain textures you can swap them out for either your own, or ones from other textures.
Also, remember we have a customizer (although at the time of writing it doesn't contain 1.7 textures), which you can find at files.jslegacy.com/customizer/.
This is an amazing pack but why does Dark Oak planks and Jungle planks go from north to south and the others go east to west in the design? if possible can u change it? and maybe make them look like theyr not all one board next to another? just a suggestion and TY for continuing the pack

The logs are the other way round to give builders some variety in their builds, otherwise they are just six planks that are different colours which is rather bland.

The problem is that this texture pack is useful for creative mode, but not for the survival mode. I can not recognize the textures (eg if it's a jungle wood or acacia wood). You made textures for decoration of creative mode, but those who want to use survival mode are completely lost. I ask not that he looks exactly like vanilla textures, but they remain quite faithful.

Oh, I see. It's just that the Dark Oak looks like 1 solid board next to the other theres still some variety in the planks though oak has a kind of edge birch is 2 toned? i guess idk how to describe it. its just unusual for me i guess with the Dark Oak looking like that D: was hoping its be sexier
I'm having a problem with this pack. I downloaded the latest version and the latest McPatcher, patched and loaded my world. But the textures are fuzzy and not sharp and clear like they usually are. It's like a low-res version of the texture pack. I tried looking through this thread to see if there was anyone else with this problem, and it looks like all the pictures people posted are how it is supposed to look.
That to me says I'm missing something really small and stupid. Can someone help me out?

This has gotten the sky back to how it previously was.
However, I haven't been able to get the grass back to how it was using your instructions outlined a few posts back.
I also recently noticed too that Glass panes seem different between the two versions. Was this changed?
