I had been manually adding the Underground Biomes textures created by TheOther, since JSTR did not have UGB support until recently. So yesterday when I saw that there was now support for UGB, I patched the new textures. Wow. Big difference.
After exploring around awhile and giving it a chance, I went back to TheOther's UGB work. He doesn't have the items, but the blocks look a lot better (IMO). To me, the UGB blocks in the JSTR pack are too bright overall and have a "confetti" look to the stone. Again, just one players opinion.
Hey guys is this a problem with the pack or with the game? I checked the spiders texture and the spider eyes texture, and everything seemed to look fine, but this doesn't happen to me with any of my other texture packs.
I just downloaded the latest version and used MCPatcher. But, when I started a world, the grass blocks are white where they're supposed to be green. I'm linking a couple screenshots below.

I don't use Custom Colors myself (Custom Colors off in MCPatcher) as I like the look of the original colours in Minecraft, but I though I would investigate the grey grass issue anyway.
Minecraft has been slowly adding features that MCPatcher use to only have, this included custom colours for biomes, grass, swampfoliage etc...
The color.properties file was a little out of date, this would cause the grass to turn grey when patched as it was trying to add a tint to the grass, instead it would override the colour completely, all working now.
But then small issues like this do get people chatting in the forums and helping each other.
I've updated the pack again but no need to download it again as it's only a small change, but for new players the Grey Grass issue is finally over.

Wow that's awesome! I just got on board with reading and posting here, and I really appreciate the quick fix. Really, thank you very much for all the hard work you do.
is there no other way to fix textures but mcpatcher and optifine?
because optifine messes up nei and tinkers construct, and i think that mcpatcher broke my game last time i tried to use it...

i think i'm gonna go back to 1.6.4 for now so i can use optifine instead of mcpatcher. this update doesn't really add anything i really need to continue building. also my system seems to like optifine better than mcpatcher.
i was wondering also, how come you guys don't have a link on PMC. i know the OG john smith has a link to his website there, but i think the legacy crew should have a post/link/something on there too since you guys update this project anyway. this resource pack is too good for people to miss it.
After I updated my resource pack and patched(mcpatcher), the wool started rendering wierd. Here is a pic of what it looks like on the front of my building (before updating it looked like this all around) and a pic of how it looks now on the back of my building. Is there anyway I can fix this?

Sorry this is a Minecraft issue and has nothing to do with MCPatcher
Minecraft on it's own has the same issues, it's using the same texture for opposite sides of a block, it's not horizontally flipping the 'back' one like it's supposed to, an example is the bed, fine on one side and flipped on the other.
It was fine in 1.7.1 but hopefully will be fixed in 1.7.3, see Kahr's response in the MCPatcher thread.

We already have everything in 1.7 supported, its just that the buttons on the download page haven't had their text updated to match the current version, but will link to the 1.7.x pack.

It worked. Thanks!

i downloaded it from its site and it claims its vs 5.1
the "newest" link should already be 1.7+ as previously stated. the text on the pic of the button just isn't updated.
