the font also appears rather glitchy during the initial loading screen, but other than that.
Yeah the HD font with just Minecraft can be a problem as they are very large fonts (it's 256x256px font for each character (512px font)), if there are issues there's a smaller 128px version (64x64 for each character) in the font folder that can be swapped out. I haven't tried MCPatcher with it's version of HD font but if vanilla works then hopefully MCPatcher will no longer be need for HD font.
Sun Flowers are large :), did you also notice the rear of it too as it's more like how they are in real life.
The Sun Flower texture is odd that you have to have the texture upside down for it to display the right way up in the game, this doesn't effect the vanilla as their version is symmetrical.
The Oxeye Daisy was a little annoying to get looking any good as it kept looking like a fried egg on a stick.
Also Greenhawk837's Podsol side doesn't quite match the dirt in colour so looks a little out a place when placed with normal Dirt, top looks good though.
I may get around to doing the fish but they look a little more complex.
EDIT: Greenhawk837's Podsol side rough version matches better with the rough dirt but then I do prefer the smooth myself.
Yeah I thought the Red Sand was a little brown too so I've recoloured it to be more red.

The dirt colour shouldn't be any different, as the dirt used is from the grass block in technician's remix, all I did was add my podzol over the top of the existing grass.
The texture pack is causing my game to crash whenever I attempt to place a painting. I searched the topic here and didn't find any reference to this issue. Is anyone else experiencing it?
I'm running Snapshot 13w39b on a Windows 7 64bit machine with the latest version of the texture pack (for 1.6) downloaded from the website.
I know it's the texture pack as when I switch back to the default texture pack I'm able to place paintings without crashing.
Hey guys (and gals), I know I've been gone for a very long time, but I thought I'd pop in, say hello, congratulate Jim on his texture additions (I've been keeping up, and those new flowers you skinned are beautiful!)...
...oh, and, I don't know, share some textures that I did for the Easy Colored Glass Forge mod that CptSpaceToaster made!
I've always complained about not having Colored Glass and Sand in Minecraft (I've been grumbling about it since 1.2.3!), and finally stumbled upon that mod. I have to say, it's simple, works quite well even in "almost pure" vanilla mode, and even has recipes for making the blocks (ever see those: "Support Colored Glass in Minecraft!!!" banners people had, where you dye Sand, color it, smelt it, and get your colored Glass? That's how this mod works!).
Well, now that I knew there was a mod that gives me colored glass, I had only one problem... the mod uses "Default textures" for the colored glass, panes, and sand. Which is perfect in "vanilla", without any resource packs in place... but when you use it with John Smith Legacy Pack... it really leaves a lot to be desired.
I spent the better part of three days working on making a "Resource Pack Add-on" for JSLP, that would not only look nice, but perfectly mesh with, and match, the textures we already have in place... with a minor tweak or two.
First, let's take a peek at the colored glass, panes, and sand, in-game:
Let's get a much closer look, shall we?
Not bad, right? But how about seeing those fancy colored glass blocks in a Terra-centric Pixel Art?
To use my textures in 1.6.2/1.6.4, you'll have to open both my .zip file, and your own John Smith Legacy Pack .zip file, and then merge the existing "/assets/" folder with mine. It shouldn't cause trouble with any existing textures (I've tested this half a dozen times, and never once had my other textures go wonky on me, but you might want to backup your resource pack just in case).
If you're using the "1.7.x snapshots", first and foremost, you won't be able to use the mod (since it's only for 1.6.x!), but when the mod is eventually updated to 1.7.x, you'll only need to include my Add-on Pack to your existing Resource Pack directory (make sure to place it above your John Smith Legacy Pack entry in the selection menu!). You won't even need to modify your existing resource pack.
This also works as a "Standalone Pack", but only affects the Glass and Sand textures (all standard and colored Glass/Pane/Sand textures).
Now, there are a few things users should be aware of:
1) The nature of the mod causes any transparent blocks (Water, Ice, other Colored Glass Blocks) to turn completely invisible when viewed behind Colored Glass/Panes. This behavior was also present in the "Minecraft 2.0" update (for April Fool's Day), and at present, there is nothing to be done about it.
2) While I respect the original John Smith Glass Block textures, I made the decision a long time ago to remove the "lattice designs" from my "clear glass" textures. I always felt that glass should be fully transparent and not encumbered with any designs or other features that make it anything less than perfectly clear. This is reflected in all sixteen colored Glass Blocks and colored Glass Panes. If you want to re-apply the lattice work yourself, you're more than welcome to, but I'm not ready to re-edit seven hundred and fifty-two textures, plus reinstate the original Glass Block/Pane textures. Sorry.
3) While I was able to get the Glass Blocks and Colored Glass Blocks to perfectly mesh together with each other, leaving the frame only visible on the outermost edges of the blocks, and have the same behavior for Clear Glass Panes, the Colored Glass Panes absolutely refuse to follow any of the CTM instructions I give them, to do the same behavior. I think it's mod related, but I don't know. At least the Glass Panes still look kind of cool, even without the perfect meshing of one block into the other. (Yes, It's driving me crazy that I can't get Colored Glass Panes to behave like Clear Glass Panes.).
I've included all the important "Readme", "Changelog", "Pack" and other files needed for this to work as a "Standalone" or an "Add-on" pack. I've made sure to include a credits section in the Readme, so that the JSLP community gets their proper credit, as well as overly detailed instructions for people who don't know to just "drag and drop" the contents directly into the JSLP.zip file.
If people have any questions or suggestions... or manage to figure out why the Colored Glass Panes won't connect to each other, let me know. Either in this thread (I'll try to check it more often), or message me.
And, before someone gets smart, and goes: "Duh, Terra, it's because you're missing the block3881.properties file in your /CTM/coloredGlassBlock/ folder!"... nope. I removed it (yes, on purpose) because no matter what method, metadata, connect, or any other values I tried to assign to it, to make those annoying Panes link up nice and pretty, it failed. I even created a "/ctm/block3881/" folder, complete with unique tiles specifically for Colored Glass Panes, and a block3881.properties file... no luck. I did notice that making a /ctm/block3880/ folder, and having my textures and properties files in that folder still let me effect the Colored Glass Blocks... so I don't think the name "really matters". I'm completely stumped on it, and have decided to just release the 0.9.8 Alpha version, now, before I find myself without the time to do so.
ANYWAY! Enjoy, everyone! Hopefully people will get great amounts of use out of this.
Since I've been building my house on my server in the Tropical Biome from BoP, I got the urge to add some more texture support.
I've not been the biggest fan of using the oak leaves for everything, especially the palm leaves, so I made textures for an actual palm leaf block! I'm very aware that they aren't the cleanest, so if anyone wants to lend a hand in cleaning them up, please do!

Last time I used this pack was 1.4 and it was amazing.
I pick it up for 1.6 and just "WTF HAPPENED?!" This once-great pack has been ruined by someone ("Idiot") who's replaced all the awesome textures with total Â, like a really, really bad recoloring of the Sandstone being used for the Clay Bricks. Some of it is even STOLEN from other texture packs (The Bed Textures are stolen from Misa's Pack).
Then there's the mod support for Technician's Remix which seems to have been completely destroyed from what it was in 1.4.5.

No, This is no Troll.
1.4.5 John Smith used many textures seen in the "Alternate Textures" post on your own forums by RezDev.
Image #1: Top Left was the default texture for "Stone", with Random/Connected textures replacing it with the current "Smooth" Concrete-stone texture it's still using now. That non-connected/randomized stone is now gone.
In fact, all the ores at the time of 1.4.5 used the top row in that first image on that thread.
With Netherrack being red, as opposed to the latest version being black.
Sand being replaced with some kind of yellow clay-like alternative seen in Image #2 on the far right on the second line. (And yes, I have my old 1.4 version and new 1.6 version open right now and am comparing them as I go)
Clay Bricks are now seen in Image #2 3rd line from the bottom, 5th across. As opposed to the 2nd line from the bottom, far left.
The stone slabs are now a lighter more desaturated version, as opposed to the brownish dirty-look they had in 1.4. (seen in Image #1 in the stone slab cluster on the right. Upper-left stone slabs)
End Stone was black with white geometric designs on it. It is now some kind of white-cream dirt-stone hybrid texture.
The current 1.6 stone brick is tinged slightly green, while the old 1.4 version was tinged a dirty red.
The current Carved Stone Brick is a full-chiselled stone block, while the old one in 1.4 had only a single brick carved with a spiral.
The current 1.6 Wooden Planks for Spruce, Birch and Jungle are ALL recolored versions of Oak planks.
As I said, the old Brown-duvet Bed has been replaced with a Green creeper-face version stolen from Misa's 64x realistic pack.
The Enchanting Table uses a different texture.
It's safe to say, that almost every single texture has been changed between 1.4 and 1.6.
If you say it hasn't (and I got both versions from the jslegacy site), then either someone is messing with the JohnSmith Patcher or someone is changing the textures without notifying the rest of the JS team.
Here is the old Terrain.png from the 1.4 John Smith 32x I used on FTB (Awesome).
And since Texture Packs are now resource packs and don't have a single Terrain file, i'll screenshot the current version I got from the JSLegacy site.
If you are downloading the pack from the Johnsmith patcher then you are using the Technican's Remix pack that has the mod support and a much lighter and cleaner feel. The other pack is Johnsmith Legacy which stays faithful to the original style of the Johnsmith's pack, you can find the download on the main page. http://www.jslegacy.com/
I just downloaded Legacy and everything looked and was working fine, I hope this clears things up for you.

So the patcher overwrites the legacy textures? You should really stop that. The Technician's Remix pack should only apply to modded textures. Especially since the bed texture for Technician's Remix is taken from Misa's pack and the rest of the textures are sub-par compared to the legacy textures which are John Smith. Some are so bad that the items for say... the doors don't match the textures that the door blocks truly are. Ladders (as seen below) don't even have a texture. Oak and Jungle Planks are almost identical and by the looks of it, glowstone is probably from some other pack too.
Honestly, the changes to the John Smith Texture Pack for the Technician's Remix are an embarrassment to the rest of you who manage the main Real pack.
I've said this many times that textures are a personal thing, if you don't like it make your own personal version of the pack, it's even easier now the textures are separate images.
The Technician's Remix Pack and Legacy Pack are two different packs.
On a side note I only maintain the Legacy pack and don't use the JSTR version, I use my own custom pack for FTB (a modified JSTR with some Legacy Pack).
I believe Minecraft is quite a personal game and when someone changes stuff it's annoying when it makes your world look wrong but nothing to get too stressed about.
The Resource Pack is never going to please everyone, that's why there's a customizer.
I know it's easy to be critical but please be more positive, we are all just fans trying to help the community and most importantly have fun.

It's not so much a problem with slight changes, it's full-blown replacements with textures that are quite literally wrong.
The JSTR textures are all over the place, with the Ladder texture being missing altogether and the bed taken from someone else's pack, a Sandstone texture replacing Sand, misaligned items-to-blocks and i'm fairly sure the glowstone texture is from another pack as well.
For a "cleaner" version of the pack, it's a right mess and something should be done to fix it.
Hell, i'd do it if I could (which, technically I can.), but unlike the current version, i'd ask for the input of the community as to which versions they'd prefer off the alternates list.
A texture artist myself, i'll be rolling out JS mod support for GregTech and a number of other mods. (and fixing up the boo-boo's that were allowed in. E.g. Forestry Stained Glass being both solid non-transparent blocks and of the wrong color. Seriously, how does "light gray stained glass" end up as light blue?)
You don't have to like it, but everything done here is by people who volunteer their time to continue this texture pack and when making textures for something of the scale of the feed the beast modpacks its easy to have problems sneak in. The Technicans Remix team have spent 100s of hours supporting mods and it has taken them a bit over a year to get to the stage they are at now. its easy for you to walk in now and see some problems then come here and treat the guys who worked on it without any respect.
1. The Legacy pack has NOT changed (except for the nether brick) since 1.4.x, EXCEPT to add new textures added in later MC versions.
2. The Patcher DOES NOT "overwrite the legacy textures" UNLESS you use the download button on the interface. You can download the Legacy pack and use the browse feature to select it.
3. The "sub-par" textures that JSTR uses have been made and selected by various team members since last year, and in an unintentional way have developed into a John Smith texture pack that follows the vanilla style. Not only does that make mod support easier for various reasons, but a lot of people prefer some of the textures used in JSTR.
4. The "creeper bed" texture does appear to be a reduced version of the MISA 64x pack, however this texture has been included in JSTR since day one, and actually originates from the Youtuber's Monkeyfarm remix of JS, which the original JSTR pack was based off (however many of the textures have been changed since). I'll have to look further into this issue.
5. The glowstone block texture CANNOT possibly be stolen as it is just a recolored variant to the JS stone texture that was part of the original JSTR pack, which I made a few slight changes to.
Also, there IS a customizer available which has various textures including those of standard JS Legacy that can be utilized if those contained within either JSL or JSTR are not to your taste.
I reckons the texture pack now is better than it ever has been, but thats just silly old me and my opinion. They've got Mod support in, Connected Textures sorted, all the snapshots are updated (on this Thread atleast). Seen as JS has gone and done one somewhere, for these guys to step in and takeover, in their own time, and make me think that the John Smith Texture Pack is still the best looking one out there.. is pretty good going to be fair.
Still, if you've got any textures you wanna add or change feel free man. Im always looking for alternate block types.

Curse Premium1.
Still, if you've got any textures you wanna add or change feel free man. Im always looking for alternate block types.
