Kazekai, now that 1.6 is out, are you planning on continuing your work on the BoP TP? I'm currently planning out my next server, and I'd love to add that one to the list of mods.
Probably. I didn't even realize 1.6 was out actually, haven't paid attention to Minecraft since I got a new 3DS game. :V I'm pretty slow with updates but if anyone else wants to edit stuff, that would probably speed things up.
You sure like to whine a lot. Accusing the pack of 'being harmful to your computer' when really, its just crappy archive tools made for Mac.
It would probably be more constructive (and less rude) to offer an alternative archive software, or suggest saving packs in one that works on multiple formats.
I archive everything in RAR format, I can't stand zip or 7zip personally. Does RAR work properly on other platforms besides Windows?
Noticed that using the FTB Launcher version, the MineFactory Reloaded bricks [glowstone, ice, lapis, obsidian, slab, and snow] were missing soI took the liberty of making some textures [recolour edits from existing] for myself and friends and to share.
Screenshot :
I'm especially happy with the ice and snow.
the lapis is a mediocre edit as I didn't want to copy the current lapis block completely, so this is a lighter/brighter version. There are minor tiling issues along the side seams, however the original texture was not my own, these are merely recolours to suit the needs of the mod.

There is a problem when rendering a map with "dynmap" grass looks gray. As with any other texture pack that also uses gray as base color to the grass, and then ink with a colormap, works well.
There is a problem when rendering a map with "dynmap" grass looks gray. As with any other texture pack that also uses gray as base color to the grass, and then ink with a colormap, works well...
Anything have a solution for this?.
I do not want coloring the texture by hand, is a failure of this texture pack as the other texture packs work well.
I love the work you guys are doing here. The pack is lovely. I just wanted to leave some critical notes of a few aspects I don't like so much however. I'm not suggesting that the pack is wrong in any way - these are just my opinions. That said, I hope you agree and consider offering these as alternatives in the customiser. (When is the customiser likely top be ready anyway?)
Anyway, in order of how important I think these problems are:
The beacon energy beam is gross. I'm not really sure what it is supposed to look like, but something simpler would be appreciated.
Glowstone and glowstone lamps need to look distinct from each other. Either they should look like two different types of lamps or glowstone should be a luminescent rock of some kind, as it is in the default texture. You know how the Sankara Stones in Temple of Doom glowed? Maybe like that. if they could pulse like the Jack-O-Lanterns do too, that would be cool!
The note blocks and juke boxes seem unnecessarily harshly textured. Some ornamental wooden designs would feel more appropriate.
I'd like End stone to look more like a desert coloured cobblestone. At the moment it looks like a functional block of some kind.
Hay bales need to be a little more saturated (yellower).
Cracked stone blocks should be cracked and worn, not decorative alternatives. It's useful to be able to show wear and tear in adventure maps perhaps to subtly highlight pathways or moving parts.
The top of the quartz pillars should be more interesting - as in default. It could be a more versatile block than it is.
Make the trapdoor wood colour match the oak wood planks - or at least one of the plank types.
Make Mycelium more like Mycelium (or at least not just more grass). Perhaps some kind of red weed that would go nicely with Nether stuff?
Again, this is just my opinion. Mostly I think the textures are absolutely fantastic!
These are the alternative textures made by John Smith for most of the blocks in the game, in my own personal pack I have the light purple Mycelium and the yellow cheese style End Stone, you get the idea.
Whatever the pack is edited to it will not be right for everyone so until the texture Customizer is operational (lots of programming required) you will have to edit the files yourself and add them to your own personal pack (not too hard to do).
As for the Beacon Energy Beam, it's not my choice, it was made by someone on the forum.
Here's the edit of my hay block (with the original for comparison), a little less sandy coloured.
I haven't been around the John Smith thread too much, mainly because I lost interest in texture making and Minecraft in general due to busy schoolwork and exams. Now since it's summer, I decided to try pick up on texture making again.
Hopefully I'll see you guys around here from time to time. :D
Has this texturepack received an update for some of the more recent modifications to gregtech?
it kinda makes it impossible to play the game when i cant see any of the circuit boards and my smaller machines have no textures
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
i play alot of games ... some of them im good at ... some of them ... not so much, well no ... i just plain suck at the latter portion ... you'd think that in 20 years of gaming, id learn ...
I have no idea if this is an Optifine problem or a texturepack one.
I didnt had the problem with all blocks pink and black, but for some reasons i have that problem with some of those ctm blocks.
The mossy cobble is patched with all these placeholders...
without optifine ---> no ctm blocks
with optifine ---> ctm blocks wont work correctly!
i have the problem with optifine version 1.6.2_HD_U_A2 and _A4.
Help me pls
More CTM file errors, there are only 4 tiles and the cobblestone_mossy_top.properties has it listed as seven.
I guest MCPatcher is a little more forgiving with some errors, this crept in because my personal pack has that many frames, I should test more before uploading.
I decided to switch back from Faithful to JohnSmith (or now JS Legacy), and I found a large number of bugs and glitches.
Here's the resource pack fixing those bugs, as well as a couple personal touches of mine.
- New Bedrock texture
- Fixed Glass CTM file
- Made Lapis Lazuli Block texture match other metal blocks
- Made Chiseled Sandstone look the same as placed in inventory
- Removed Flower Pot random textures due to being buggy
- Changed Jukebox to be wooden (from FlyingSheep's JS Customizer)
- Changed Note block texture to be wooden as well
- Changed White and Light Gray wool textures to match other wool blocks
- Changed Oak, Spruce, Birch, and Jungle Log top textures to match
- Changed Glowstone texture to be separate from the Redstone Lamp texture (from FlyingSheep's JS Customizer)
- Made new textures for the bottom sides of Pumpkins and Melons
- Made new textures for top and bottom sides of Spawners
- Changed Mycelium texture to be purple (edited from FlyingSheep's JS Customizer)
- Changed TNT texture (from FlyingSheep's JS Customizer)
- CTM textures for End Stone!
- Made Redstone Comparator texture match Redstone Repeater
- Made Stone Pickaxe match other stone tools
- New textures for Horse Armor!
- Other things here and there
The markings for the horses don't seem to line up properly like I think they should; compared to Default, and whichever markings that should be on their back/body isn't showing up at all and it really doesn't look right to me. And now that I look at the screenshot, the spotted markings could look more detailed. Is there anyway I could change this?

Textures for horse_markings were not the right size (Half res), I did sort this out in a previous release but the files regressed in the 1.1.2 update by mistake.
Pack updated again, the main site ftp is not working at the moment, so here's the upload to my more reliable site.

Endstone is horrible, it is the same texture as jukebox
These textures are from the old customizer, and I personally do like them better.
They should work if you; un-zip the texture folder, go into; assets>minecraft>textures and save them into the blocks folder, replacing the other ones, and re-zip it and such.

The block112.properties has some wrong information.
