Just making them bigger will not do anything really. You have to remake the whole texture based on the 32x32 version.
Well yeah, I knew that just making them bigger wouldn't work. I was moreso looking for advice on how to actually design the 64x ones, and if anyone had any tips.
What I do is use a 64x grid and up-scale the 32x texture so it's a little easier (using Nearest Neighbour scaling to prevent anti aliasing). I then make the canvas 64 heigh by 128 wide so I can place the up-scaled 32x texture in one of the grid boxes and then, pixel-by-pixel, trace the outline shape of the texture. After that I add the inner details replicating that of the 32x texture and compare the two textures; if they are looking similar then it's working, if not take a step back and see what part could do with changing. I then position it according to it's position on the old texture, delete the old 32x texture and re-size the canvas to 64x64 ready to be saved as a .png extension.
That's basically the way I do it, if anyone has better tips, share them! I can still learn too.
Thank you for the advice! That is actually a brilliant idea, makes it easier to keep the exact design and whatnot. When I have some spare time later this week, I'll give it a try!
Hey, I think you need a special folder structure to make it work. Try to create a "mods" folder in the JSL.zip file. In this new folder you copy the folder "BiomesOPlenty" Kazekai provided in his download. Now it should work for you.
Unzip and drop it in your mods folder of your texturepack.
I'm also wondering whether you've decided to hold off or if you're going to continue updating on 1.5.2. I ask primarily because your textures look great so far. The few missing that are most noticeable (to me) are ones like Dark Wood Planks. The colour of them is great, but the default texture is hideous against JSL!
When/if you finish it maybe the guys on the JS Legacy page could shout you out..
We are the guys on the JS Legacy page.. haha. We'll eventually get around to it. Nothing big, maybe just another download link for the 64x texture pack, with credits due to whoever has made the textures.
Okay, one more (minor) issue - with BoP, there are custom water colours. My friend is using JSL and she can see them, while I cannot. We're using the exact same pack. I've tried fiddling with Optifine settings but I'm not getting any results. Does anyone have any suggestions that might allow me to see the custom water colours that BoP provides?
Here's my version of the bow, I wont be doing many 64px textures as they are not what I like play with but I though I could do better with the bow image anyway.
I also think a separate thread would be better for the 64px textures as it's getting a little messy.
Turn custom colours off, otherwise John Smith will overwrite mod colours (I think)
Nothing doing. The only difference I notice is when I'm on the Default pack, toggling "swamp colours" will turn the coloured water in BoP on and off. Unfortunately nothing seems to work for me while using JSL, which is, again, odd, since it works for my friend just fine. Ah well.
I had that too, its a minecraft forge compatibility bug with optifine, not the texturepack. Download a development build of minecraft forge off of their build site and use that instead.
I use build 712, it's pretty stable even with my 100+ mods on main multiMC instance.
Sorry I haven't updated the BoP support, got involved with drawing personal stuff (and animal crossing >_>) Will try to finish off the leaf/wood blocks and then figure out how to make the flowers look good. Really glad people like it.
What I did was extracted the 13w25c.jar (using WinRAR) and look at the default pack layout.
I've converted the pack (unofficial at the moment), the smoothstone and stone thing is just copying and renaming a few files.
Some new mcmeta files were added for the shadow.png, pumpkinblur.png etc... or they don't display properly.
CTM, Random mobs, better sky's etc... don't work yet, I put random mobs in the directories with the originals, the font has a display bug when running the game a second time.
But it's a good start, I've also made a map to check the resource pack textures.
I found a bug. I currently have optifine installed and when I set my connected textures to either fast or fancy, some stone blocks look like iron ore blocks. This is really frustrating and I hope it can be fixed. I love this texturepack but this is making mining impossible.

Curse Premiumyou can download the converted 1.6 pack by JimstoneCraft here.
Pack converted, still testing until the 1.6 release, you can get a test version from my page.

It's a Minecraft issue with the text not the Resource Pack, hopefully Mojang will sort it out soon or maybe Kahr will add it to MCPatcher.

You can work around the font issue by switching back to default before you exit the game, then when you restart switch to John Smith.
You have to do this each time though but it's better than nothing.
