We're not going to convert any more textures to 1.5 format, mainly because 1.6 is introducing a huge change in the way texture packs are formatted. So, sorry if you use 1.5 for mods, but it's not going to happen. We will be re-introducing JSTR for 1.6, outside of what we have already converted.
Unzip and drop it in your mods folder of your texturepack.
If you want, you can continue working on the BoP textures, and once you've decided you're finished I'll include them in the patcher.
It's up to you whether you should hold off making them.
XP / boss health / horse jump bar need to be updated to 64x and connection bars need improvement.
Hopefully someone can help, everything else in here is 64x
I'm estatic that someone is working on BoP support. I got so sick of the newer vanilla world generation that I gave up and installed that pack, which is on the whole entirely pleasant and adds some new interest to the game.
However, I am running into problems using JSL and BoP. Does anyone mind telling me exactly how one would fix the texture pack so that... you know, 95% of the items aren't big black squares? I love BoP and JSL both, but BoP completely broke the texture pack for items. The terrain itself is fine, but ALL non-BoP items are broken. It's distressing.
While I'm on texture pack support, could someone please also let me know how to combine the JSL and JSL-BoP packs so that they worked in tandem? Thank you!
By the way, I am using Optifine. Not sure if that makes any sort of difference or not.
EDIT: ... nevermind. The latest JSL pack I was using was mysteriously a few bytes short of what it should have been. My guess is it didn't download correctly the first time around, which just generally messed everything up. That being said, could someone clue me in as how to combine the fancy new BoP JSL textures with the pack I am currently using?

Alright so, you have your johnsmith zip file for your texture pack.
You need to download Kazekai's mod support from this link: http://www.mediafire...omesOPlenty.rar
After you have done that, open up both zips but remember which one is which. Inside of Kazekai's zip, you will see a folder called "BiomesOPlenty" All you have to do, is drag that into the Johnsmith Legacy zip. To make sure you're dragging it into the correct place, within the JSL zip you will see folders names such as anim, textures, achievement, armor, and so on.

After that's done, you should be good to go. If for some reason, it doesn't work, or you're just lazy here's a link to the zip with included textures for BoP http://www.mediafire...mith_Legacy.zip
Hey, thanks for the reply!
I tried both methods - inserting the files myself and using the one you provided. Neither worked, unfortunately (and strangely). I also tried simply dragging and dropping the contents of BiomesOPlenty into the JSL folder, renaming the BiomesOPlenty folder to Biomes-O-Plenty-0.5.5 (since that is the file name of my mod - not sure if that's supposed to make a difference), dragging and dropping the 'textures' folder so it merged with the 'textures' folder already in JSL... nothing. I tried it on SP (I'm trying to get it to work on my server), toggled around the Optifine settings... nothing. There's got to be something I'm missing, and it's gonna drive me nuts until I figure out what it is! I've always loved the JS pack, and Kazekai has done a really gorgeous job upgrading many of the textures to a John Smith style. I'd really love if I could get these working! Is there any sort of troubleshooting I can do? I've done literally everything I can think of, including many restarts of the game, server, and my entire computer.
Just making them bigger will not do anything really. You have to remake the whole texture based on the 32x32 version.
Well yeah, I knew that just making them bigger wouldn't work. I was moreso looking for advice on how to actually design the 64x ones, and if anyone had any tips.
What I do is use a 64x grid and up-scale the 32x texture so it's a little easier (using Nearest Neighbour scaling to prevent anti aliasing). I then make the canvas 64 heigh by 128 wide so I can place the up-scaled 32x texture in one of the grid boxes and then, pixel-by-pixel, trace the outline shape of the texture. After that I add the inner details replicating that of the 32x texture and compare the two textures; if they are looking similar then it's working, if not take a step back and see what part could do with changing. I then position it according to it's position on the old texture, delete the old 32x texture and re-size the canvas to 64x64 ready to be saved as a .png extension.
That's basically the way I do it, if anyone has better tips, share them! I can still learn too.
Thank you for the advice! That is actually a brilliant idea, makes it easier to keep the exact design and whatnot. When I have some spare time later this week, I'll give it a try!
Maybe I should hold off on making BoP textures then. This is what I've done so far.

Go for it.
Looks awesome!

Not yet, only a small amount has been upsized to 64x so far.
