This thread was made to continue JohnSmith's work but all people are doing is complaining about stuff or saying things aren't working or just saying thanks. This was made to MAKE progress, not get it stuck in time. Not saying there is anything wrong, I am just saying the last time I saw a texture was about 3 or 4 pages back. Maybe this is just a coincidence and everything is going fine?
I would help but I don't use John Smith pack, and I don't know the style very well. Maybe this week if I have some time.

Well now that we have our own JohnSmith forum (http://forums.jslegacy.com/) people have been posting textures there.
And people posting about problems isn't a bad thing, its the only way that they will be fixed and I'm sure many other texture packs have had loads of problems also thanks to the 1.5 update breaking everything to do with texture packs.
Awww Nooo! Dirt, wood and some other textures are white with
"Texture missing"
written on them. Same goes for technicians remix. I looked in the blocks file and dirt and wood didn't have a _top and _bottom etc.
Are you using version 1.0.2? As this problem was fixed
I dont want to bother you guys, but why are there so few updates to the JSTR in the last month, are you working on a bigger mod?
As you may know 1.5 changed the way that textures are stored, instead of them being in a single file they are now all separate images. Now many mods are following this same format. This requires a lot of time and work to convert textures to work for 1.5

Have any of the mods been converted yet?

Is anyone having a bug with colored sheep?
All the colors seem to work fine but Black and Brown sheep colors are a deep navy blue, and the Red sheep come off as a lime green. When you shear them the item is as it should be but the way they look is wrong.
I edited around with the texture pack and I'm afraid I might have deleted something important or maybe it's just a bug, what can I do to fix this?
EDIT: I deleted the color.properties file and now they're working, they're not the JohnSmith colors but Red Sheep are Red and Black Sheep are black so I suppose this works.
I haven't the foggiest idea if this is on my end or not, but I can't seem to get the patcher program to run. I'm looking at what happens in my system processes: when I click on the .jar, the process pops up for a moment then disappears. I know I'm linking the patcher to javaw, so I don't know what the problem is. Apologies for wasting your time if this is clearly a problem on my end- I just don't understand what it could be.
Also wanted to thank the contributors very much for continuing a beautiful texture pack. Your efforts are appreciated!
So I noticed that the solar helmet was default/faithful placeholder, so I decided to have a crack at making one. It's quite basic and could do with improving but I hope you take the time to look at it. http://imgur.com/XLp6OHr
Even though I ain't a huge John Smith pack fan, I like that helmet a lot.

I just checked the sheep colours and they are all displaying correctly, try redownloading the pack and copying over the color.properties and hopefully they should be the right colour.

I just tried that and it's still not working properly. I tried playing with latest JohnSmith texure, unmodified, I changed absolutely nothing in the file and even that's not working. Is there possibly something in MCPatcher that I should be changing or maybe I'm just lost?
Current version's connected textures doesn't work with optifine 1.5.1. Fix it please. I get the missing texture issue with all the random texture blocks such as dirt and stone.
Good to see its being continued by the community.
