Is there any way to get the smooth stone version of things for 1.5? I would really prefer my smoothstone to be.. smooth stone, not cobble (even if it is very pretty cobble)

Just to let everyone know, all downloads have moved from Google Drive to our own host at www.jslegacy.com. New stuff that will make everyone's life easier should hopefully be coming soon, so stay tuned
I don't know if this is just me or what, but the smooth stone and reg dirt say missing texture.
That happens to me when I use Optifine for 1.5. Goes away without it. Optifine is still in the process of ironing itself out. It's better with this texture pack than Soartex though. Crashes on launch with that one.
I merged all the wonderful work from JSTR and Faithful 32 with some of my own changes.
The main update was I attempted to do a JohnSmith version of the Hungry Chest. It turned out alright, but could have been better. Still, I think it's an improvement over the default Hungry Chest.
In addition, faithful32x versions of Robes, Alembic, and the Warded Jar. Here I have it sitting next to the vanilla chest and an Iron Chest. Btw, the guy who did the new IronChests, brilliant. Love 'em.
I posted this in the OptiFine thread, but I thought I would see if anyone here would have a solution for me. (Pardon me for covering my bases...)
I'm running into a problem with the John Smith texture pack (JohnSmith Legacy V1.0.1). It seems that textures won't display properly (missing textures) despite the texture looking fine in my hand. Using OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_A8
One thing I noticed... I went back into the minecraft.jar archive and it does not have a META-INF folder after running Minecraft following the install. Would this have something to do with the texture error?

I have a very similar problem with Optifine and John Smith, for example the dirt and stone textures say "missing texture".
Is there an update planned, or ist this problem only related to OptiFine?

A8 is better than A7 was. It seems to also spam the console when it doesn't find ctm's, and then those are the textures that show as missing. Maybe A9 will fix it all up
On another note... Does anyone know what the texture name for stone bricks are? (since cobble uses stonebrick texture)
I feel like the new quartz textures don't really go well with the rest of the pack :/
I made these ones for myself, by doing a very slight edge-find multiply on... dang, I don't remember. A 64x pack that was really faithful to vanilla (Faithful, mayhaps?!), which I down-sized to 32x. I know it might not be "John Smith Style", but i think quartz blocks should be a bit special: really clean, bright, smooth, and subtle.
I don't suggest them for the main JS-L pack, because they're really derivative of Vanilla, but it's a neat option, if someone wants it.
The thing I have had the biggest issue with, and for quite a while, is how hideous white wool is with that ridiculously thick black border around the block. Why is white wool like this? Every other color (except light grey, which is a pile of crap itself with that stupid big black X going through the block AND the black border that the white wool has) looks great. Do you really care about differentiating between light grey wool and stone, or white wool and snow that much that you would rather have those thick black lines? At first I thought it was something not rendering correctly, but the png's all have this....interesting stylistic choice preserved.

That's because Atherys Ascended is 90% John Smith.
JohnSmith doesn't look like A'therys Ascended, A'therys Ascended looks like JohnSmith.
As A'therys Ascended uses johnsmith textures for most of the items and blocks

Its digustingly annoying and makes most gregtech interfaces absolutely unusable. Rotary items and most with a "RPM" status are unreadable.
It's really disappointing this won't be fixed.

This would be amazing if it wasn't for the above issue. Its really too bad.
