Wanted to say I love the pack. I'm glad to see someone is continuing it, as well as adding a tremendous amount of mod support.
I did however have a question. Is there any chance there will be Voltz/Universal Electricity mod support for this in the future?
I realize it is quite an undertaking to add mod support for it. I was mostly just curious. I love the pack above all others, and would love to have it integrated with my current server. And since it is included in both Technic Launcher & FTB, I'm sure many would appreciate it.
Does anyone have a fix for the Water animations and the Lava animations in 13w06a? I'm sure you're all aware of the changes that the snapshots are bringing to texture packs. If you play in the snapshots with the Water or Lava in johnsmith and move them into the blocks folder of the texturepack, they still don't work properly. The animations don't loop properly.
Hopefully I am explaining myself properly and you can understand the problem that I am facing. Hopefully someone can help me.

The day after 13w02a was released we added support for everything in the snapshot, including the 64x water and lava. Are you using the latest version of the pack?
Updated my CTM support and added support for Netherstone
Legacy CTM Patch 0.3 (Includes randomizer PSD)
- Merged in Netherbrick Fence (previous poster on this thread included a large number of alts and this was among them)
- Merged in a modified version of Smooth Sandstone (a mix of previous mentioned alts and edits to fit with latest brick style)
- Merged in a modified version of Chiseled Sandstone (again, like smooth sandstone, alts + edits)
Legacy Netherstone 0.1 (Includes PSD with all known Netherbrick alts and associated stone for those alts)
- Added Netherstone block (a recolored version of JS Legacy stone block)
If you aren't familiar with Netherstone, here's a link to the mod.
And here's some images of what this looks like in game.

Thank you for the help! I just updated to this version of the texture pack and it seems to be working fine now. You mentioned a 64x version of the pack or is that just the size of the water?

It's just the size of the water. It's the way the tiles are setup.
Could someone tell me exactly what the differences between JS Legacy + Mod Support & JSTR normal with mod support. Is the stone the only difference?
From what I understand, Legacy is supposed to be a continuation based on the latest textures from JohnSmith's original pack, which includes different bricks, sand stone, netherbrick, stone and ores, etc. JSTR is basically a specific mix like TyDoku versus Dokucraft. Also, I've noticed that JSTR seems to gain the latest mod support first and Legacy is lagging behind at the moment. Though it's not hard to just merge the changes in yourself if you prefer Legacy.
I am loving this pack for my forge based modpack, only issue i have is with glass block icons. They are nearly invisible in the UI and very much so when looking up recipes in NEI. Any chance the glass icon could get tweaked to be easier to see contrasted against the GUI backdrop?

Sadly, there is no way to change just the icon of the glass since it uses the same texture for both the icon and the block. If we were to change that background of the GUI, that would involve a ton of work redesigning every GUI just for one piece of glass.
I Love this Texture pack. I have been using John Smith ever since i started minecraft (1.5 Beta) and i was very sad to see it discontinue. Keep up the good work!
@Glowstrontium Are you guys using illustrator (or some other vector graphic app) to develop your textures or just raw pixel art in photoshop or similar?
While I've been working on my little compatibility packs I've been noticing more and more that basic photoshop tricks aren't cutting it. You can only recolor things so much.
Alot of the original JS pack has a very detailed dithering look that doesn't appear to be pixel art, but more vector art with graining/texturizing effects added in and scaled down. Perhaps some pixel art done after rasterizing... I'm only an amateur graphic artist (web developer by trade) so I'm always interested in other's techniques.

I've added support for the SimpleOres mod. All blocks, items, and armors. Fortunately armor is easy in JohnSmith
The ores are from the MysticOres JohnSmith pack and the Redpower sheets from Legacy. The credits for the MysticOres pack can be found here http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1090503-32x-132125-johnsmith-texture-pack-mod-support-batteries-not-included/
Everything else was just edits to the core items from JohnSmith.

The GUI is different as well I believe.

Same as 1.4.6.

Over time, you'll get used to checking for it.
