Bevels is a smooth cartoon pack made to get me out of my texturing hiatus. It has turned out well over time, so I decided to keep going with the project. Most simple packs seem to revolve around squares, so I wanted to be different. Rounded edges. Round edges everywhere.
Bevels features lots and lots of CTM. Most of it is random, such as flowers in the grass, white roses here and there, random varieties of lilypads, and rocks and moss scattered throughout the dirt. However, connected textures include white edges on bricks and connected glass.
You will want MCPatcher. Bevels can run fine without it, for the most part, but you'll miss out on custom water and lava, animated diamond drills, and the previously mentioned cool CTM features!
I put the boring stuff at the bottom for you, don't worry. Anyway, you cannot redistribute my textures in any way. You can't reupload it to another site, you can't "borrow" a texture for placeholders, etc. However, you can use this texture pack in videos or screenshots. In videos however, I would like to be credited somewhere in the description of every video this texture pack is used in with a link back to this thread.
In addition:
That emblem means that, if my pack is stolen, the rest of the Texture Artists' Union will help me in getting it taken down.
Please tell me if you see any bugs, or give me criticism on bad textures![represent]
Looks promising. It may even replace my OCD Texture Pack.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A Newcomer to commentating. Mine aren't top notch yet, but I think I do a pretty good jeb. Sometimes my vides are jonk and a carn fest. My name isn't Kris or Marc IRL, it's Top Secret. I had a few YT accounts b4, but they were junk. That is all.
Apparently, when I made the ice texture, I put it where the snow texture was supposed to be, which is why it was too blue. I fixed that and updated the download accordingly.
I also added a picture of the nether and the terrain.png, and the pack has a banner now.
I think a lot of it lacks contrast and the colours are all a bit...meh...
I don't know, they just dot seem very proffesional if thats possible. Maybe they're too saturated or the hues you chose jsut dont work together, but its bugging me. imho the colours have to be perfect for a simple pack to really look polished.
And some textures have AA and others don't, its inconsistent
This is kind of odd. Some people have said something in specific they like about the pack is the colors. :/
The low amount of contrast is intentional, but I'll see later if adding contrast will make the pack look better.
The reason textures like dirt and snow don't have AA is because their shading is only one shade darker on my palette. Dirt doesn't have defined separations, so I have lighter shading to reflect that.
I like this pack!
The screenshots looked nice, so I gave it a try.
Now let's review for the first time because of too much free-time:
Pros (+)
The random blocks really give it a great feeling. It's also nice to finally see a well done simple texture pack again. Also an idea: You should use the random blocks a little more, like trees whose bork is rotting at some parts, or leaves with fruit in them!
Cons (-)
It's nothing too big, just I find that the moss from dirt and grass is a bit too outstanding... Maybe try a less green color?
Tips (!)
The chests are not working because you have changed the terrain.png ones even tho the game uses an entity (model) located in item/chest.png
You have to adjust your chest from the terrain.png to the one there, but warning, the one in terrain.png IS used for the particles of the chest when breaking it or running above it.
Rating (?)
It is a well done, simple texture pack that has more variety than others.
I give it 5/5 IF you finish it!
I will be using it aswell.
Just one last thing: You should put WIP into it's title, sence some things aren't finished (like mobs and items).
I can't really put apples in the oak leaves since they are biome colored, which would result in brown apples. (Ew) However, I'll probably put cocoa beans in the jungle leaves. If I remember right, jungle leaves drop cocoa beans like oak leaves drop apples.
I might add occasional holes in the oak and/or pine wood. And I'll see if I can make the moss not stand out as much.
Also, I know how the chest works. I actually haven't edited the chest in the terrain.png at all, I just never quite got to make a chest anyway. I'll do it in the next update.
I'm blown away. This is gorgeous. But you need an alternative download link.
The only download hosting site I've ever used is mediafire. I'd like to have a direct download, you can get those on github, right? Does github have any limitations compared to mediafire?

Nice job! I love that style of shading. And the ores look fantastic!
Is this palette based?
The palette I use is actually included in the download!
I did not create the palette beforehand, but created new colors as I needed them. I've pretty much got all the colors I need now, though.

There's yet more to come!
EDIT: Snow seems a bit too blue, but w/e.

NOTHING is ever too blue

I was really happy with them, too.

Thank you for the picture and criticism, though!
