this texture pack looks really good..... and to think i came here trying to find a nice shaded texture pack to make my skin fit with my gameplay.... this though because it has less pixels to work with makes my skin more shaded in comparison XD anyway cant wait for the full release and ill be sure to use it
8 bit textures require hardly any effort, its just 56 pixels. Seriously come on and do a 32x tp or higher.
Plus i hate this texture pack, no effort at all
8-bit textures can take a lot of effort to look good. It's just, this pack isn't actually 8-bit. It does look like a scaled down default, to me. 8-bit is challenging as you have so little colors to work with, so you need to find ways to recycle colors effectively.
And your comment on 32x, I have seen some terrific 16x texturepacks. I've also seen some terrific lower resolution packs. I have also seen terrible 32x packs. It's not the pixels, it's how you use them.

FFS, this is a Eight By Eight texture pack, all textures (except for ones I have't gotten to yet) done by hand, by me. The only textures I haven't done are the CTM Glass (Returning in Build 027-F) and the Panorama. This is meant to look a little like the default. It has said so in the OP since release, and it just doesn't right now. It uses Default colors, if you don't like it, no one said you have to even look at it.

Yes it is 8x8, though you also call it "the detailed 8-bit" which isn't true.
And that's got to be one of the worst things I have read from someone who has made a texturepack. "If you don't like it, don't use it." Be open for criticism, dammit. Don't expect everyone to love and sugarcoat their comments, and anyone who doesn't like it that much won't reply. They will.
Actually, where are your pics? All I've seen looks like default shrunk down by 50%.

The term "If you don't like it, don't use it." imply's that if you have used it previously, and you do not like it, I am not forcing you to continue using it, you are choosing on your own to continue usage of the pack; and I do accept criticism if you would like to take a look back at earlier comments.
I have a hard time believing that a long lived pack like this one, that has now accumulated over 1,700 downloads would need pictures, even though I do realize it is a rule, that I am willing to follow once I get substantial pictures of the newest version corrected and ready.
Half of the textures are re sized because, in case you haven't noticed, 8 is half of 16. Now, please take your arguing and tom-foolery else where before my topic gets locked. Thanks.
after using this pack for a while i have realised 2 things....
1. its a good pack and really gives me a feel that the world is smaller
and 2. i really think it needs a better icon for inside the texturepack folder because the one now just doesnt look good so i recommend changing it

It is a rule. It doesn't matter how many downloads. You could get more downloads if you had pictures.
I know 8 is half of 16. I'm not an idiot. Though you called this your own texturepack. If you take default textures and scale them down, they still aren't your textures. That's just a default edit, nothing special.
And in case you haven't noticed, 8x is a fourth of 16x.

I do realize this, but whats the point when in the current Dev Build, half of the textures are default anyway?
I do call this my own, because I did the textures. I redid all of the blocks.

It would be better to just have us see pictures here instead of requiring us to load the pictures. You should do that for us, if you're the one wanting to show your pack.
Like the brick. It's a reddish-brown blocks with a few gray stripes. Judging from the screenshot, the torch texture looks broken. Oak and jungle logs look too similar. I can't tell which is which. Wood planks look very similar to the wool, just different colors. I'm not sure if this makes the wood look soft, or makes the wool look hard.
A few textures look like they are resized defaults. Such as the sponge, cobble, and mossy cobble. I think the cobbles have too many cracks on them. The sponge has no use other than to be a building block in creative, so I suggest to make it not look so ugly. It reminds me of moldy cheese right now.
Not exactly needed, but usually texturepacks make the ores different textures, and not recolors, like default. Just to put in a little more variety.
