This is my first texture pack so if im missing anything on this form page let me know.
This texture pack is very loosely based off of avatar the last airbender.
this is all done with a mouse.. hopefully i can get a drawing pad soon..
There are still things that need to be finished but i felt it was time to upload it to see what the community thinks i need to change.
I worked very hard on this and would greatly appreciate some constructive criticism or compliments.
And yes, the ores are...different. I find it weird though that it seems like you mixed realism in some blocks with cartoonism in others...
when i started making this pack it was originally intended for my girlfriend, hence the harts on the obsidian, red-stone and coal. shes a big fan of gold so i figured i'd make it a smiley face. I guess the terrain doesn't really stick with either realism or cartoon cause i have a massive texture pack add, i cant sit and play minecraft without switching my texture pack a million times. so I guess that kinda showed itself here..
Appa's lost days like....from Avatar: The Last Airbender? If so, you are win and if not then... XD
Now, onto the texture pack itself. The side snow and the side grass need shading beneath the grass/snow itself so it doesn't look so flat. The dirt is just a bucket fill and is without any details, so it could do with improvement. I find its color to be rather dark in comparison to your other textures. Detail and shading should be carried throughout all your textures, since it makes it look all that much better and, not to mention, it just looks strange when one texture has shading and another doesn't.
The ores are interesting, but iron and lapis look smudgy like dry, faded paint. They also needs embedding into the stone, as well as your coal ore. As of now, they just look like stickers stuck on the stone. The melon looks really bright and almost neon in its color choice, so I find myself wishing that it was toned down. I feel like the emerald block could also do with some rethinking for the color choice, right now it is rather subdued and desaturated, which doesn't really jive with the rest of the colors in your texture pack.
Your mycelium has tiling issues.
I like your oak tree texture and the planks for that.
The texture pack needs a bit of work, but it has potential!

Thank you soo much for all the tips and such, i will definitely get to work on all of this.
i would like to just say that the dirt ins't a bucket fill, its actually one of the textures that i spent the most time with, the darkness of it is inspired by the rich wet soil in the painterly pack customizer, i always thought it looked interesting to bring a much deeper tone to the dirt. But that being said quite a few people have asked me to change it and make it lighter, so i might make the darker dirt an alt texture and work on a lighter version of it.
I agree with your point on shading and detail, there are quite a few blocks that have an unfinished feel because they aren't shaded or fully detailed. the reason for this is some textures i have spent weeks on and others are just a rough draft.
The ores, yes the ores need so much work. I've had so much trouble making them look like they were impeded in stone but i will get it eventually.
As for the mycelium, that stupid line in it i have no idea how it got there it just kinda showed up one day.. i'll fix that and upload it now just kinda as a mini update, probably with brighter emeralds and less neon melons in it as well..
uploaded it. couldn't get the melons right so that might be in a later update.

new pictures are up now
Hehe, fail on me. Sorry for that. But in your case, make the spoiler...more noticeable
yeah i guess it wasn't the easiest to notice, is it better now?
Oh yeah, realy noticeable now. I think this loks ok, but with a little more work, I think it'll be even better
