Hey everyone! Lately I have been playing Minecraft (cool story) and I just thought I would take a whack at creating a texture pack and to keep things simple for my novice brain I am going with 16x16! :]
Just in case you are thinking this:
-No it is not a "SimpleCraft" or a pack that may as well be 1x1.
So what is the idea behind this pack?
-Just Vibrant.
My goal is to create a Texture Pack that just comes out as bright, but not an unplayable bright. A new form of Vibrant, but with a slight rustic sense where it should be.
While this may be my first texture pack, or at least it will be (WIP), I am quite ambitious about it. And while yes it is a work in progress, I am posting Screenies on this forum post so that my current completions may be critiqued. :] Judge away!
Note: This pack is incredibly early in development to the point I even question why I made a forum post. The download link is mainly because I wish for my cousin to take part in its creation.
There's tiling errors, and not much shading but it's a good start. Dem oak logs are horrible though, wrong colour and too much awkward noise.
I'll be sure to work on them! Can't say I know what you mean about tiling errors though. :X Would be nice if you could clarify.
Edit: To Kanky who posted after this post:
Yeah :3 The water is only temporary due to me having troubles with custom_water_still.
Edit 2: New Oak! Since I live in Arizona, USA I had to stare at an image of a tree trunk for 5 minutes to get a better idea. Epic, thanks for your feedback and if you see this be sure to tell me what I can change to make it more realistic and less busy.

Alrighty then! Also, the new oak looks A LOT better.
It's quite good for a first pack, but I think you are doing what I did when I began texturing and using the crystallise filter to cut corners, am I right, your new oak is VERY nice.
No. :X But I was doing something that I have realized I shouldn't do. I was being reliant on clouds for that textured look, but now (that oak is an example of this) I start images as 32x32 and draw it by hand, only to be re-sized and it just gives it this excellent look! I'm loving it! I already remade quite a few textures that way and I am quite happy with how it is turning out. ^-^ In a bit I will be sure to update my previous images!
Edit: Posted a new image of the Forest Biome featuring the new textures. :] Also added another more up to date showcase image showing what was changed. (Planks, Birch and Oak Tree, Grass, Wool (All Colors other than Black and White), Cobblestone, Stone)
Edit: Youtube Video for breaking animation. Short, simple. Darker than I had hoped but it is free software. Y.Y Can't wait til my next paycheck.
Got around to fixing the wild grass texture and ended up just making it something that helps pop out the original grass texture. Still have to get around to fixing the side grass though! D:
vNew Wild Grassv
vWooden Doorv
Woke up this morning and got the full version of fraps so hopefully I will be able to post a better quality video. :3 But I'll wait on that til I fix the side grass and flowers (Possibly the water too, I have a whole list).
As always, if anybody has something to say that can be used to better influence what I've worked on already speak up! Even if it is completely negative, it definitely motivates me!
As for the pack, It looks okay so far. I would suggest less blur, and more shading though.
Yeah I was questioning his post too. :3 And I'll try to smooth it out a bit. Don't know a great way of shading with Paint.NET :X Or at least I don't have a professional eye for it.
O.o don't see how that would mean he was whitelisted... Or where...
Anyways, added a download link. Just be sure to take a note of how early in development this pack is at the moment, though I do think I will get much more constructive feedback if someone can actually see with their eyes how things are going.
Also to note: I kind of started working on and forgot about the following and barely realized it:
-Obsidian
-Workbench (Top View)
-Gravel

I dunno where....but....
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."

All in all, Enjoy!
:L The Grass was kind of a random bit, I'll be sure to work on it right away. Are the Grass Edges bugging you? Or just the top of the block?
