Like wulfre said (thanks for that btw), mods will come after vanilla stuff is done. The only exception to this is if it's a mod I've taken to using myself, as was the case with the better grass and leaves mod.
Anywho, what I've been up to. Firstly, I've remade the emerald block and snow side textures. Am currently redoing the brick block to make it a little more interesting and worthwhile using too. I've also had a look at the new snapshot textures and I'll be starting on the new stones veeeery soon now.
As for why I haven't posted here for a while, I've been doing textures for the alpha pack challenge and I'm about 50% done with that. Might release the pack once it's completed but it will only be for minecraft alpha 1.2.6 and I don't have any plans on updating it further at this stage:

Also since the latest snapshot came out I made a new skin. Cookie to whoever knows what it's from (hint: it's a as of yet unreleased video game). I'll release the skin to the public once PMC updates to the latest skin format.

Thanks hoodoo! Yea, I've been going through my older textures and just remaking them entirely. I got a reasonable amount last update but there are still more to come!
I do not really think it would fit so well; the colours and styles are not very compatible.
Yea, this. It's just too different to really work well as an addon pack so unless I made it replace nearly all the textures it just wouldn't fit in at all.
Bit of a pity but the challenge is fun anyways so I don't mind if the textures made don't end up being used.

I only just started work on it so it's really hard to say. I can say for sure that I won't be waiting till I've done everything I want to do for the japanese addon before releasing it, I'm going to release the first version with some new trees, planks, leaves, biome colour changes and a couple of other unique things like tatami mats and ricepaper walls.
Then I guess I'll just continually updated it with more stuff as I make it, sorta like the main pack although with smaller, faster updates since it's going to be a much smaller file to organise and I won't need tonnes of pictures.
Any rough release date for the 14w03b (Or whatever build it will be in a few weeks) version?

Not just yet but luckily I only need to texture the stone blocks (which I can do pretty quickly as I enjoy texturing stone stuff) and the slime block which will probably take about 10 minutes, if that.
I'm also going to tweak the sticky piston and melon and also going to redo the beacon block after I finish the new bricks. So it really depends on when I finish the new stone textures but release should be pretty soon, probably in a week or so.

Almost done with the new stone textures, then just slime block and it's update time once again!
I also redid the acacia log as I felt it didn't really fit in too well with the other logs. Since I'm doing stone stuff I've also been considering redoing my normal stone texture. I don't really mind it at the moment but I'm sure I can make a nicer one if I put my mind to it. Also, I've improved the shading on the bricks since that picture but the colours are correct and they still look reasonably similar to the finished product.

I've made the lighter bricks a tiny bit lighter than before so they stand out more but with ctm I'm going to add in some more random colours that fit well and a nice yellowish brick would probably look very nice!
Ok, some more small news. I wanted to have at least one mob for this small update (it was feeling a bit *too* small) so I finished off the wither skelly. This is one mob that does look better in-game as it has different spacing and shading and whatnot for its ribs, spine, skull, etc. that make it stand out from the normal skelly and it does look a hell of a lot more creepy in-game too!
I also did a few fixes to things that I felt needed to be changed and things that were requested such as adding slime to the stick piston, tweaking the coal palette to make it go better with more things for building, some other colour tweaks to dirt, biome colours, added command block minecart item texture, etc. Basically just a bunch of small bits and bobs.
I also added some subtle ctm to the brick.
Just need to finish off the stones and then I'll update the pack. After that I'll get stuck into both finishing off the alpha pack challenge and doing the japanese addon. If I get in the mood for mobs then I'll start on the horses after this update as well since I'm really sick of the ugly default ones!

That brick, and the stone brick textures have incredible depth to them. Anyways I'll put everything through it's paces when it's out and good luck with them there horses...I'm dreading Mojang bringing something else out that has as many textures as those equine monsters!
