I don't mean to be complaining so much, but it kind of bothers me that the sticky piston doesn't have slime in the reservoir and I sometimes mix up the different pistons because I look for the green.
Thanks everyone, glad to hear the update is going down well! I was really enjoying testing with it so I'm glad you're having the same opinions!
Oh and syc, I think it would only be number one on curse if I updated more often than a month at a time and I seem to be too lazy for that!
Also wulfre, the sticky piston is meant to use suction power (hence the hole) but I don't do redstone stuff too often so if it's difficult to recognise then I might just swap it over to slime next update to make it a little easier.

Well I know you are going for a theme so if those pistons are some important part of it then I don't want to mess it up. But yes, it would be a little easier that way.
About the suction, I honestly thought it was a reservoir for the slime to fill into, so maybe you could actually use it like that and have the slime in a neat little square... or not.
And so that this is not completely a negative post, I do really like the animations of the droppers and dispensers.

Yeah, it can be bothersome. Personally I only used pistons once, for a cocoa farm, so I don't have problem with the texture ,but it still is a bit strange not to see the green slime there. After reading your post, I actually took Sheep's piston textures and made some alternative textures, just to see if I could do something decent. I opened Paint.NET and sampled the slimeball's colors, with I then used to make the alts.
The results (obviously enlarged):
The first one is a Default-style sticky piston with the slime splattered all over it. The second has the slime in the center, in a rounded shape, for a more clean look, and the last one has the slime inside the hole.
If you like, I can provide Dropbox links for them. I am sure Sheep can make a better job, though.
They look pretty nice aztec, well done! I'll definitely make my own when I get home as I like all the textures to be my own work but you did do a good job on them.
Also, figured I would let everyone know - I'm going to be making a large Japanese addon pack when I get back from Japan as well as working on either horses or nether mobs. Here's a list of my ideas so far, feel free to contribute any thoughts and ideas as well and also let me know if you would prefer horses or nether mobs first.
Japanese version/add on
-nagareru colours
-birch -> cherry blossom
-new smoother and lighter stone
-new smoother dirt
-iron -> copper
-spruce -> cedar trees
-rough cobble
-new stonebrick
-katanas, bokken, etc.
-new samurai armour
-wheat -> rice
-potatoes and carrots -> something
-random appropriate block -> lacquered blocks
-jap names for things
-look up jap trees on google to find replacements for oak, etc.

Thanks, and I completely understand. I did them since I had nothing else to do at the moment, and wanted to give it a shot. I can't wait to see what you can come up with.
On the Japanese set, it's great idea, but I am wondering, why change Iron to Copper and not Gold. In real life, iron and gold share very little in common, while copper is in the same group as gold and have very similar characteristics. I can see that you may want to use gold for decorative armor and stuff, but personally, if you are going to replace one of the metals with copper, iron is not really the best choice.

This is my signature. Yes, there's nothing interesting here, so carry on.

Well copper is used a huge amount over here in Japan, even for small things such as drainpipes. It's also a very interesting material since it can be so many different colours (green, black, shiny copper colour, etc.) And I feel it would be great fun to texture all the iron things as copper such as iron fences, all items that use iron such as pistons, tools, etc. Also it's a big change that will really show you're using the Japanese version of the pack since it will be almost immediately noticeable. As for not replacing gold, gold is used on tonnes of temples and stuff here as decoration which is what it's used for in normal Minecraft anyways so I may as well leave it as gold.
It might be optifine then. Its just released for 1.7, right? Might be some bugs with the skyboxes and stuff at the moment. Might need to fiddle with my CTM files to make sure they work for optifine and mcpatcher.
Errrr, I just arrived back in aus from Japan but I'm not back in Melbourne just yet. When I arrive home properly I'll have plenty of time to check it out for you. So I'll check in a few hours or so and post back with my findings.

Yay! And you'll also have some exotic textures in mind for us
I recently decided to install MCpatcher and use the Custom sky feature but i cant seem to get it running.
Im patching the 1.7.2optifine_HD_U_A6.jar with the patcher and only the Custom sky mod is checked. Then i launch MC but i still cant see the custom sky. I tried various ways, OF first then patch, patch first then OF and only patch.
Emm... That I know of, Optifine and MCPatcher have a lot compatibility problems (that is, if they are not incompatible). Try asking in the respective thread instead.

And maybe some sounds?
Well textures come first as always but there are still a few things that IMO could use new sounds. Especially my mobs that are a little different compared to default like the villagers.

You can use them properly together although it is a little difficult to set them up. But yes, I've had optifine and mcpatcher working together flawlessly as well as forge thrown into the mix for a couple of other mods too. That said, not entirely sure if its still possible because this was a few updates ago...

Oh yeah, I've been meaning to ask about your sounds... Not just any part, but the development part specifically... Do you use a microphone and close your door (like for the door sounds)? Do you synthetically create them (with a synthesizer or computer)? Or do you just steal them off the internet and use them in your pack without citation

Free stock sounds on the internet (ones that are free and all the ones so far have required no credit as they specifically mention so fyi) then edited, cut, fixed for looping, sometimes added together with other sounds to make them sound more... Gamey... I will have to make my own sounds from scratch for the mobs I want to replace most likely but that's not too bad as I have a friend who lives really close with a nice synth and tonnes of audio stuff as his dad is a musician.
