If you want to add more fancy stuff, take a look at the Inspiration pack, especially the sunbeams at dawn - maybe you want to include a modified version of it into your own pack.

Ooooh yes, the sunbeams from the inspiration pack are glorious, I'll definitely try my hand at making some of them! Really love how those look.

I'll also try to come up with a design for some thin wispy clouds that I can pop around the place. I think if they use the one or two darkest shades from the palette they'll blend in quite nicely. I'll post some pics of them when I come up with a design I like for them of course!

After seeing the beautiful golden birch trees from steelfeathers' latest pack (check it out here) I've decided to make another addon pack. This time it's the Fantasy Tree Addon Pack. At the moment there's only one tree replaced (birch) but I may replace others in the future.

Here are some early pics, lemme know if you think the leaf colour should be changed (leaf texture is currently being changed, the one in the pics is just birch)

There will be custom saplings, leaves, planks, wood and language files for each tree I replace. For now birch -> silven.

mm, that sounds good, to accentuate the teal in the leaves? Birch leaves would then decorate birch plank builds most superbly.

Might keep the colours for another tree type then because I'm quite fond of them. Might make a good dark oak fantasy variant or something.

Thanks, simple yet complex is sorta what I'm trying to aim for now as well. Getting as much detail as I can while using as few colours and dithering/other shading techniques as needed.

Oh and I agree about the dirt and gravel. I just got used to it but I think now they could use some variation. I'll come up with something and pop it into the next update, thanks for the feedback!


Ok everyone, the wood addon pack is done, it's slightly more silver now but it's still tinged blue because it really does look nice on roofs and other things. Especially with the wood. The pack will be released with the update to the main pack.

As for the main pack, I've just finished redoing the wool and I've also just done some new rails with fully animated powered rails. Here's a pic (not the red is from redstone blocks underneath the powered rails)



I'm 80% done on redoing the boat and minecart with some new shading for the boat and a better design for the minecart and I'm still working on the new packed ice texture. That's probably all I'll do for the update now though, it's gotten a lot bigger than I originally intended.... >.>

I've been called many things, but definitely not fast before!

Even if I do actually make textures very quickly, I'm always very slow at actually updating. It's usually about a month between updates although they are usually pretty large.

Yea dunnra, there's so much content to texture now that it's a little intimidating even for me who has a lot of stuff already textured. I really can't blame anyone for quitting, it really saps time. It's a very enjoyable hobby though!

Kekay, yes, all the sandstone blocks for this update are brand new. I think there were some pretty much final pics of some of it a few pages back, can't really remember now...
