Thanks a lot for the release, Sheep. Pixel Perfection is making exploration fun again for me! I consider it the "Derivation RPG" of 16x packs.
Well Derivation was the inspiration for a lot of my blocks like the stonebricks, normal bricks, endstone, etc. I absolutely adore that pack and I think his (Levaunt's) texturing style and creativity when making new blocks are pretty much the best you can get in minecraft.
Glad you're enjoying the update so far though, I'm really quite proud of how it turned out myself!

I've never understood how one can use inspiration from one pack to make a texture in a lower resolution pack. But then, I don't understand how people can make textures this good at all, so I don't speak from an insider's perspective.
I am liking... No, loving... Everything! I might get some inspiration from some of your textures for my Native Lands pack! My 17 straight days of "new texture every day" really took all the ideas out of me.

Well I mostly used his colours as inspiration more than anything, but looking at his blocks up close also gave me new techniques for shading (since we both do pixel art it can scale pretty well) so it translated well into 16x. I did use some shapes for inspiration as well like with my netherrack but it mostly was just colour. (although my stonebricks came out very, very similarly to his!)
Thanks a bunch though, Corner and try not to get too burned out with massive texturing streaks like that! (it feels terrible)

Do you understand inspiration at all?? You can take inspiration from a car design for a cupcake, or get inspiration from a smell for something visual. It's a very loose subject.
In this case the higher res pack has a certain style, right, and he liked that style and the colours and got an idea from it.
Okay Sheep, spill. How did you get the MC patch texture converter to work for you? Because when I use it on my packs with CTM, the CTM no longer works. Yet yours does. HOW???
EDIT: Hmm....works for my skyrim pack, but not the others....

Well my CTM didn't actually work afterwards, but all I wanted it to do was to split the .pngs into seperate files which it was very good at doing.
Since I had so many new textures and therefore new CTM textures, I just did 80% of the work by hand, redoing all the properties files, reorganizing and renumbering all the .pngs as well!
Took ages but I think it was worth it, way less trouble adding CTM to my pack now!
Well, I tried to get it from this thread.. but does this one work with OptiFine? I downloaded it and put it into the texturepacks folder but nothing changed when I activated it.
You don't need a patcher for texturepacks anymore, but if you for any other reason use optifine it should work, have you made sure to update to 1.5 and reinstall newest version of optifine??
The 1.5 update is looking pretty spiffin' as always. I'm going to have to use your texture pack as a reference to figure out how the heck to redo all the CTM in my personal texture pack haha.
I took a peek inside and noticed the WIP cloud skybox. I know it's a WIP and may yet undergo greater change; I do think you're on the right path though with the peaks in the clouds but I feel everything needs to be done in greater degrees. You're probably going for a very-distant-clouds-looming-on-the-horizon sort of feel which would make the cloud shapes a bit less pronounced and distinct but I think it would still have that problem that I brought up before (where whatever way I looked in the sky, it looked the same).
I've always liked SiikiKala's clouds in his Rothbana Texture Pack. The download links are down but I still have an older version of his TP. Here's some inspiration maybe?
In any case, do keep up the awesome work. You make my Minecraft look beautiful XD

Yes, it should work perfectly with optifine but this pack is ONLY for minecraft version 1.5.
Hey there, I just included Pixel Perfect in my 1.5 Texture Pack video, covering some of the changes, the best 1.5-ready texture packs, and a tip on how to convert pre-1.5 texture packs.

They were actually the very first inspiration for ANY version of my clouds (aka, I used them as a reference for my super old clouds). The only thing is that they look good on png's but in-game it doesn't work as well because the transparency is also handled by how dark the colour is, not just by its level of transparency which makes the white peaks look unbalanced and like they're floating.
I have another reference I'll be following really closely but I'm not going to give anything away for the moment. The clouds in the pack at the moment that aren't implemented are pretty much just an outline. I tested them in-game though and I do like the shape and height of everything though, they're but they don't get in the way or overload your vision.
XSSheep, your texture pack is amazing as always, keep up the great work! I cant wait to see the 64x version of this pack, that was my favorite in 1.4.7. Please keep the golden hoe look like a scythe with the ruby looking gems in it, its my favorite weapon!

I didn't actually have a 64x pack for 1.4.7 so I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Thanks for the compliments anyway though!
Opps, sorry XSSheep, i could have sworn i got a 64x pixel perfection in 1.4.7. And your welcome, but one question and i may have missed it if you posted it in the 26 pages in this thread, but do you plan on making animated items/textures? And of so, what blocks/items will they be on?

Yes I do. I will probably animate things like torches, ender balls+eyes, blaze powder, blaze rods, fire charges and maybe the other redstone stuff. Only things that make sense though! (Unless people can come up with good animation suggestions for the other tools)
As for blocks, I plan to animate the redstone blocks, maybe some nether stuff, ores (sparkles or something in the darkness could be cool), wheat and other crops I will look into (blowing in the breeze possibly? Might not work at this res particularly well though) and a few other things when I think of them.
I think I'll still be using CTM more than animations though, I can just think of more uses for it compared to animations!
Hmm, I'm not getting the skybox clouds or the font, bit sure if this is a problem with the pack or mcpatcher, anyone else getting thew same?
Just saw that you don't have the custom sky in the screenshots either.
I'm remaking the day and night skies at the moment and didn't manage to finish them for the 1.5 update so that's why they aren't showing up.
Also, the font IS done but I renamed the file because it only works with MCPatcher and when you load the pack without MCPatcher, the font is completely broken and makes things unreadable. Apparently this is a bug or something where we can't define the proper spacing between letters so I'm hoping it gets fixed soon!

Aah, just took a look at the files and it's obvious there is the old one and an unfinished new one, silly me Love the quartz blocks, most people seem to make them really bright which makes them harder to use, but yours mix really well with stone and wood.

Curse PremiumYes, it should work perfectly with optifine but this pack is ONLY for minecraft version 1.5.
It's a cast iron block, which is IMO, more useful and more interesting than a generic shiny slab of metal.
Sweet! Nice video too.
