I guess the dirt just seems too light. A bit darker might be better IMO.
I'll mess around with it but if I make it too dark then it will be too much of a contrast against the stone. (which I'm not gonna change) I'll certainly see what I can do though! (maybe dark and llght patches with CTM? Could be a neat effect, definitely unique!)
I love all the little details of this pack, and I would totally use it, except that I can't stand the cobble. The stones are just too similar, they feel pillow-shaded-y, and they don't overlap enough, which creates very visible vertical lines. I would love you forever if you revamped the cobble the way you did the stone brick and make it just as awesome.
EDIT: I'm also noticing a similar issue with the sandstone. The chunks taper into each other like squeezed pieces of playdough. The intersections of the cracks should either be more defined with darker shading (making it obvious that each chunk recedes in space) or the pattern should be more jagged and shale-like.
On a completely different note, where did you get the map for the first screenshot? Want. So. Hard.

Yea, although I personally love my cobble, it doesn't fit with the other textures anymore, I've already been experimenting with new ones although I haven't made on that particularly appeals to me yet! (gonna keep trying though)
I'll also have a look at the sandstone too, it really does need a refresh too.
Also, the map in the first screenshot is actually from my normal survival world that I play from time to time. I'll upload it and put it in the OP in just a bit!

I meant the first fantastic build pic under 'pictures', fyi. Not the blurry screenshot at the very top of the post.
And good to hear that some new cobble is in the works. ^^
Just adding shading now - this is the new cobble for my pack btw, I really like the outline for this cobble so far though, it would look great in a cartoon pack!
What say you about the general shape? Think it fits better than the other one?
The new cobble looks great. And indeed, it would look even better in a cartoon pack. But we only need look to the left to see what amazing work you can do with stones, so let's see some shading on that cobble!
May I suggest something? A CTM feature on your planks that creates a border on the edge of the block/s. I've seen it done with wool before by SMP and some others, but never wood, although it couldn't be much harder. I think it would look better when putting planks on the ground, or surrounding it with cobble.

I just think it would look cool.
Well, here it is with some simple CTM. Still not entirely sure if I'm happy with it but it does go very well with the other textures!
I really like the idea about the wood planks too, I'm gonna go investigate exactly how to do those borders and then give it a go. Will post back here with results when I have some to show!
No plans to make this pack 32x, sorry, but I may experiment with 32x packs in the future (when this pack is a bit more complete with gui and hopefully all the mobs and armour).
Just like most people here, i love the pack, am using it right now, seeing how it's pretty amazing for fantasy/medieval RP.
Can't wait for the update, would love to see how you'll do the armour, planning on going for that shard feel for the diamond armour as well?
Thanks, and yes, I do plan to at least TRY the style for diamond armour. If it turns out bad I will change it though.
Also, update should be close, I have everything updated, a couple of new mobs done (cows and wolves) and I have a couple of new paintings and new blocks too.
I just have a tiny list of things I want to make before I put the update out. Ideally I would have done them a while ago but I just went on a 5 day holiday (which I returned home from today), so yea. I will finish up those things tomorrow if I can so I can get the update out tomorrow afternoon!
