for a simplistic pack, it's actually quite good. it stems beyond the "lol everything is jus difrnt culurd cubs" to actually have some nice shapes and good tiling.

While it is a bit different from the regular simplistic texture pack, it still needs some improvement. Add some more detail and shading, and make some of the colors a bit less default. But I think that the boxes work to the advantage of some blocks, but take them out on some like the cactus.

I'll take note of the boxes. It's hard to add much more shading to a 16x pack while still having it tile well.
Which textures do you think are bland? My goal was to make the colors bright and fresh...

You need to work on the colors of pretty much everything. As for the textures themselves, the cube thing is overdone and boring, it's something you should stay away from. Unless, you can do it right. Don't just copy-paste the grid onto different blocks, remove and change parts to fit a texture.
It's not hard to make a 16x pack. It takes time, and dedication, but getting tiling down with shading is not difficult, whatsoever, It would be more difficult to do that in higher resolutions.

Alright well I guess we disagree. I just made a texture pack that I liked and decided to post it. Not everyone is going to like it. I will say though that you were wrong saying that it's not hard to make a 16x texture pack. Working with less pixels is harder than working with more. I know mine isn't the best, but don't discredit people like Andre Jolicoeur, or Whiskers, or even Mojang for making the default texture pack. Also, believe me I spent time and dedication. Endless hours went into this. You don't have to like it, but don't say that making complete textures packs is an easy thing just because I'm using the default resolution.
Yeah, I had a hard time coming up with the wool. It started off a little different, but the end result was pretty similar. The colors are a bit more vibrant however, and if you look closely there is a little bit of difference. I was definitely inspired by disco though.
